Thanks. Corner Loop is off of Powell Road and about 3.5 miles from Pole Yard Landing, in the area of the cell phone ping. That's an interesting article.

The 2000 block of Corner Loop (the address in the article) doesn't appear to include residential property, as far as I can tell... only land. It must be privately owned though.

I'm sorry, but were these the remains that ended up being ID'd as man? It looks like there were a couple sets of remains discovered in South Carolina within the last year or so and I can't get them straight.

In a few posts after this one someone stated that an ID can take months or even a year if they are completely skeletonized. I'm just thinking...it's been half a year since this discovery...if they haven't publicly announced the ID yet, I wonder if they will soon.

Less than 48 hours until this press conference. Prayers for all who are involved.

I found several owners on the Georgetown County GIS http://gismap.georgetowncountysc.or...licAccess1/index.html?appconfig=Mapserver2015
website. We don't have an exact address so I had to do a general search. Not sure where you're looking.

I just pulled up the 2000 block of Corner Loop Rd on Google Earth (which is also known as County Rd, apparently) and didn't see a residential property that would fall within that address block. There's a house close by, but I don't think it's close enough to fall within that block. (I found the '2000 block' info in the article you posted earlier.) While searching addresses on Google, I found a few properties within the 1000 range and several in the 700s and 9000s but nothing in the 2000s.

Here's a screen shot of what Google Earth pulled up for me:

There's definitely a lot of undeveloped land. This is a snap from the county website showing the property sites...

The article never specifically says anything about a home on the property, and LE refers to the owner as the "landowner" and not the "homeowner." It's probable there is no residence/home on the property that was being searched IMO.

Capt. David Knipes, spokesman for Myrtle Beach police, said it was never formally executed because police had consent from the landowner to search the property.

Yeah, I would take that to mean either that there was no house on the property, or they weren't interested in searching it .

Thanks for clearing that up! I didn't pick up on the "landowner" wording.

No problem! Who knows though with the media these days.

And if there is no home on the property, I'm guessing whoever the owner is is completely unrelated to anything else with this case. IMO a vacant lot was possibly used by the perp(s) to access the river and dispose of the cell phone and/or other evidence.

Did the fbi ask Natalie Holloway family to be present 6 years later while updating the public on whats going on for a press conference that would be held within 7 days later?

I wonder if they have news of an arrest and want the family there. Or if they found clothing articles or something that they want the family to verify as being hers before they make their announcement or what?

I agree!
I wonder what type of lead &/or tip led LE to that specific location? I always seem to consider this same question in every case... when searches are conducted in locations that seem both random and incredibly narrow at the same time.

When LE looks at cell phone pings, to what extent are they able to pinpoint the location of the phone that sent the signal (assuming there is no stingray or similar technology involved)? I'm sure it varies based on the remoteness of the area and proximity of other cell tower locations, but does anyone have a rough estimate? Like are we talking miles or a few hundred feet?

(I'm completely ignorant on this type of stuff. Sometimes I wish I could go to police academy just to learn about the investigative aspect---they can keep the fitness part of it and the job placement afterwards. :))

BBM. Lots of variables involved, so "it depends." Here's a couple articles:

I thought the sex traffic/kidnap theory was not that realistic, but now I am wondering if these other developments might have led LE to new info regarding Brittanee:

http://wncn.com/2016/04/02/sc-man-charged-with-kidnapping-hours-after-missing-teen-girl-is-found/

I guess we will find out Wendsday.

I was actually researching the Taylor's when I came across these from just 2 months ago. Wouldn't it be bizarre if this one that got away led to other cases, ie. Rebekah Bletsch and Jessica Heeringa, pending... Anyway, I went all the way back to the beginning of April and no one on this thread linked these articles until I did a few days ago (unless I missed someone). A couple people mentioned the girl but no one mentioned the accused. Wondering if he is a human trafficker or just a sick individual.

IIRC from Disappeared the cell phone range was a 4 by 5 miles area.

Well, I'm interested in hearing the news. Tomorrow is the day. I'm hoping it's something substantial...

I simple Twitter search of Brittanee's name reveals several media personalities converging in SC for the press conference tomorrow. Looks like there will be no shortage of coverage.

Thanks! According to that Twitter they will start airing the segment at the 4pm news. I found a live link @ http://www.rochesterfirst.com/live. Kinda doubt the Drexels will be able to say much at this point, if they have even been told anything yet.
