She was met at the bus stop and escorted home by mom, but then allowed to play outside for a bit...then noticed as missing? I guess she didn't even go inside to change her clothes since she appears to be missing in what she was wearing when she got off the bus. Correct me if I'm mistaken.
No correction needed, you got it! :) It was reported earlier that LE would give another update today too, so stay tuned. MOO

Her mother met her at the bus stop and walked her home. She was last seen playing in the yard approx 3:45 p.m. and reported missing at 5:00 p.m. after family searched and couldn't find her. MOO

This is terrible. I believe she is in the hands of a sinister person. She looks healthy and genuinely happy in the photos released.

Also, my 7 year old walks almost a mile home from her elementary school. She will be 8 in April. But again, we live on Fort Jackson and the housing area is very small in comparison to a city like Columbia. I always said to my husband that if we didn't live on a military base my oldest who is 11 would not even be let outside alone. Not saying bad things don't happen on military bases but there aren't many strangers or people with records hanging around.

Since it seems she made it home after getting off the bus, and was playing in her own yard (as last seen), IMO this could be an abduction. Pretty slick of someone to grab her in plain sight though...IMO
But it could also be a case of her wandering off. I'm hoping for the best outcome, of course, as with the case of Casey Hathaway in NC. He was found after an intense search of a few days, not very far from his home. Fingers are so so crossed here.

Vid confirms Mom was at bus stop & walked Faye to apartment- as she does daily.

Uh- reporter keeps bouncing back and forth between present & past tense verbiage when describing Faye. So hard to hear that.

Always possible in tough and nervous situations. Not always the "gotcha slip-up" it is often thought to be with suspects (using the reporter as an example).

I get an older disturbed teen vibe here.
I hope I’m way off.

I grew up in an area much like this and the chances of a strange adult going unnoticed I think are low.

Even when “no one” is watching the kids outside... someone always is. Older sisters, grandmas, other moms and dads always look out for each other kids and at this time of day there would have been plenty of people around. They also know who the “weird” ones are. I can remember we’d be playing outside and an “unknown” or “known to be weird” adult would walk down the way (the grassy area between buildings or the front drive/park ways) and all of a sudden moms were standing in door ways or coming out and staring them down.

A known teenager or other child wouldn’t necessarily garner that scrutiny and might come through mostly unnoticed.

I know that the FBI is assisting in the search but has it been reported that they've sent in a CARD team?
I can’t find anything. The response has been huge here, and if the CARD team isn’t involved yet, there’s no way they won’t be. They’re clearly pulling out all the stops.

I have a couple of thoughts/questions
1) this is a cul da sac ( or dead end) so wouldn't an abduction require knowledge of the childs schedule?
2) is there a custody issue? (I haven't heard but that means nothing)
3) we have had a lot of rain and flooding How close is the water to her neighborhood/home?
4) why is everyone focusing on neglect?? Have I missed something?
5) any reports of witnesses?? ......this neighborhood is maybe two intersections from the interstate? I drive this way all the time so I can assume that during the suspected time that this child went missing the main road right outside this community would have been full of traffic. Surely someone saw something????

Its next to lizards thicket (restaurant) and napa (auto part store) I am sure they have cameras I have been to both places but I cant say I have seen them facing the road.... i hope that helps
