MOO JMO
The FMS residence’s proximity to 1. Knights Inn motel 2. Open woodsy/bush land 3. Freeway plus surface streets and 4. Scrap Iron facility, coupled with what is described in MSM videos as a fairly close-to-home bus stop location is giving me the worst feelings.
ETA: Plus railroad tracks.
The railroad tracks and the water level in the creek give me pause. In a frightened kind of way. JMO

1) Not necessarily, could have been a crime of opportunity, it happens sadly.
2) Havent heard much about dad but I believe a report earlier stated that the family has stated that noone in the family knows where she is, so unclear at this time.
3) Not sure, reporter stated a small body of ater is close. All I got.
4) Not focusing, just theorizing at this point.
5) Havent heard of any witnesses outside of the woman that verified that she saw the mom walking FS home like she always did.

BBM:

This is the first question I had when I heard about FS's disappearance... "Any water nearby?"

How "small" is this body of water, and how close is "close," can anyone see it on a map?

Hoping that if there is any H2O nearby, it's one of the first places LE looked.

JMO.

I caught that too. I found it odd.

I am not a native of SC and while I must say they people in this area are very sweet and kindhearted perhaps grammar is NOT always a priority (no offense) I only wanted to share personal experiences!!! Again, nicest people you will ever meet .... I just wanted to share this so you take that into consideration when listening to local news

It's comments like this that bothers the heck out of me. I have to wonder why they do not know who was home when she got off the bus. Seems a simple question for the mother to answer in order to get a simple answer. On just about every single missing child case, no one can answer simple questions at all, especially the people who are responsible for caring for the child.

They can say anything....I think we have the madness of Social Media to thank...... to some extent at least. They know more we hope :(

So we now know that Mom walked FS home, a typical day for them. But were they alone after arriving at home? There is an hour between noticing that FS was missing and a 911 call. Why? Was mom out searching herself or is this typical for FS to go a friends close by and she was assuming this? I don't like the hour wait at all. MOO

The Swetlik family released this statement Tuesday afternoon:

“Faye is a bubbly and happy little girl. She always wants to play and have fun. She’s not the type of kid that will up and walk away. Her mom was very attentive in watching Faye. Faye pays attention to her surroundings. Her grandmother is very distraught about what has happened because they are very close. We just want to find Faye and bring her home.”

They were searching near Congaree Creek last night but there is another one east of the complex - Sixmile Creek. I have not seen that one mentioned yet in MSM. MOO

In addition to homes and vehicles, the search is also covering a wooded area in and around the neighborhood, as well as terrain at nearby Congaree Creek, which has risen with all of the recent rain, Antley said.

Even if it feels uncomfortable with hindsight, I can honestly see searching around on their own for a bit. Who suspects abduction instantly? More likely child wandered off, is just around back or in a neighboring yard. JMO

Welcome to WS. Thanks for this link. The family must be in complete agony. I hope they find Faye soon.

The surrounding area concerns me, especially with the number of sex offenders in the area. Warehouses can be employment places for sex offenders- I know this because I work at a school and we have a location with a warehouse next to it. They had to get a whole security system placed in so students and employees with badges were the only ones with access. They even moved the bus drop off to the other side to avoid being around the warehouse. We found out that they do not screen employees and that was a safety concern for us so we revised the campus accordingly.

I can see this too, maybe the first half hour, but personally I cannot see an hour going by and your 6 year old is gone without contacting authorities for help. Did she have other people helping her look? MOO

I mentioned Sixmile Creek last night- it’s the absolute first thing I noticed on Google maps. It’s a short stroll from the apartment & off the road. It’s the first place I would have looked.

Public safety briefing at @CityofCayce City Hall as next shift of law enforcement officers prepare to head to Faye Swetlik’s subdivision.

They’ll be canvassing homes this afternoon to talk to neighbors and interview drivers as they enter leave Faye’s neighborhood.

Perhaps they spent time contacting other family members too. An hour can go by fairly quickly, even though it may seem much longer when a child is missing. I hear you though, and do understand your concern.

Okay, so water is a very real concern here.

Do we know what exactly she was playing by herself in the back yard? I didn't see toys out in the yard...could she have gotten bored and headed to a friend's house?

I'm wondering if she has friends/playmates in her neighborhood.

Any playgrounds or parks nearby?
