I'm not as confident about it as you are. I still think there's a 50/50 chance she gets LWOP. She deserves the DP, if only for the hideous lifestyle she will lead because of it, but I'm not so sure they will give it to her.

I think these jurors have bonded with each other and will work hard to reach a unanimous verdict. The risk of being replaced is an added incentive. I've gone back and forth re whether LWOP or the DP would cause JA the greatest misery, and there may be a juror or two who, wanting her to be as miserable as possible, will vote for LWOP. I don't see a hold-out causing this jury to be dismissed though.

My message to Travis and his family:

Travis, may you now be able to rest in peace. Your name is cleared my friend, not that anyone believed it for a second anyway. I know you were there with your family yesterday in court, and they need you probably now more than ever. Please help them heal their wounds and remember you for the shining light of a person you were. Travis, you have touched many MANY people, and you will live on forever in their hearts. RIP my friend.

To the Alexander Family:

To see day after day what you all have gone through, is just heart wrenching. Im so very sorry for your loss. I pray for healing, and strength for all of your family and friends. I know Travis was with you all yesterday, and know that he is ALWAYS with you, listening and walking beside you. Remember him as he lived, larger than life, happy, smiling, and loving. Dont let his memory be what she tried to make of it. You have the world behind you in support.

Beautifully stated. I too pray the family and friends can heal and live happy and loving lives.

Wow..i saw a crude drawing of an elaphant facing a tombstone..unless my mind is playing tricks on me.

Please don't take offense, Kaki, but I think this whole discussion is a great example of why it was so brilliant for Juan to stipulate to the stupid "iris reflection" picture. He knew if he put that picture in front of a jury, they might construct everything from a gopher to an astronaut out of it. Every one of them would be sure they saw what they think they saw. It would have caused chaos.

Just saw the replay of the interview with Patty...one of those 20/20's or something. She clearly said that JA had a wonderful childhood. How could she be testifying that JA was ever abused in her younger years? Can JM question her about that statement on tv? Seems she wished she had a childhood as great as JA's....

Womack is a mitigation witness and will absolutely be open season for JM's cross. I bet she is seriously thinking about backing out right about now....she'll be like chum in the water for Jaws come Monday.

Why don't we just call her Jodi? I mean... how hard is it to type her name? It's the same number of key strokes.

Can't. Your name is symbolic of your humanity, which this convicted murderer surrendered when she had the unmitigated gall to play god for Travis Alexander. The birth name "Jodi", having anointed her "human" or "person" is revoked.

I believe you.....and if they are feeling any thing like juror #8 felt, they wont

want to let the Alexander family down...MOO

I listened to the assents of the jurors in the Guilt phase and the Aggravating phase on full blast. JMO, but my spidey sense says possible 9-3 for death at this point. Could 100% be 12-0 at the end of mitigation though, ESPECIALLY if the convicted murderer plays the DV/pedo sewage card again.

I had a rare opportunity to speak w Juan Martinez the last day of closings and he said he thought he didn't do as well the second day as the first. My jaw dropped and said "are you kidding me? I had a room full of people in tears today over your closing" and suggested maybe it was cuz Nurmi was so terrible. He then said "well he's not a great orator" to which I responded "it was like watching a gnat up against a bull" which is exactly how I feel re this mitigation.

The likes of those VI statements against a Jodi Arias art show? I just wanna see the looks on their faces, ESP my new fave Trump and someone's gonna have a "b$:(/, please" look. Mark my words. She's going to death row. To me it's a no brainier. I heard their loud and proud "yes's" and saw their faces. They're ready to tie it up. IMO of course.

Katie -what about Juror 1 ? From the videos she seems pretty quiet, not quite as strong - any feeling on her ?

I see it! Just increased my screen size....oh, it is there all right. :stormingmad:

Thanks for seeing that.

OMG I see the elephant.....
I hope someone with a lot more talent than me can make this more clear and defined.

Jodi Ann Arias is a master manipulator. She has honed her skills since childhood, and she does not tell the truth if she can think up a lie.

She was NOT crying FOR Travis' family yesterday. She was crying FOR HERSELF. She was staring a hole through both siblings backs as they gave their heart-wrenching VI statements as if they were addressed to HER.

She did not consider Travis a separate human being--she viewed him as an extension of herself, so she truly believes that she shares in the family grief as a fellow family member or good friend.

She enjoyed the VI statements--she was completely at attention for both siblings. Instead of hanging her head in SHAME for what she has done, she got off on hearing how SHE HAS HURT TRAVIS' FAMILY.

She feels wrongly persecuted. She feels she is a victim--of Travis, of Det. Flores, of Juan Martinez and now of the jury--oh, and of her lawyers. That will never change. She lives her life as a victim and feels entitled to exact revenge for perceived wrongs. She feels justified in Travis' murder.

She has no redeeming qualities and needs to be kept away from other human beings because she is dangerous.

Videos? You mean the audio polling of them? (Just hoping no video footage has leaked). We call her Church Lady...seems like a quiet lady. But she like all of them was extensively voir dired on the DP for this case. I think they have all shown strong unison and that will continue right through. I've never waivered in my confidence on this jury though. None of them. They are a unit now.

Last night on DD Jenny and DD mentioned about the tweets she received about not wanting Jodi to get the death penalty, how she thinks Jodi is terrible? etc, etc. What I took exception to the night before) was not her opinion, but what/how she said it, "Jodi is a human being." Like what was Travis a piece of garbage.

Also I am disappointed with Beth K. This morning (did anyone see her) she said how none of the jurors had tears (that is not my issue), I took issue when she said I think the jurors have made up their minds, I HOPE NOT, I WANT JODI TO GET A FAIR HEARING, para phasing. And Beth knows a lot more about this murder than the jury!!!
What is wrong with the jury having made up their minds. They sat there for 4 months, voted on guilty M1, voted on cruelty, so if they (jurors) have made up their minds at this point,so be it. So beth says she hopes not, not fair to Jodi. Jodi, Jodi, Jodi.. I believe Jodi has received above and beyond a fair trail. Money was no object in this case. Beth did it for me, I am fed up with all the talking heads, defense lawyers and such. my opinion only

I did not see the part with Beth. However, I don't think they have made up their minds. They spent a good full two days + deliberating their first verdict. They spent, what almost 2 hrs, deliberating the aggravating charge. Even Juror 8, who was there almost until the end, EVEN AFTER HE HAD WITNESSED JODI ON THE STAND with her lies and all, he still said that he tried to keep an open mind. I think the jurors r very thorough, b/c I know me personally, I made up my mind after her testimony. Me in my living room it would have taken me 5 minutes after deliberation started to come up with my "verdict." Yet this jury went back there and obviously discussed everything and were confident with their answer and the reason they got there.

I agree with you on Jenny's comment -- what got me was the DAY she said it - which was the day of aggravation WHEN IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE CRUELTY OF THE CRIME. Maybe she hasn't seen the crime/autopsy photos? I know they didn't show them on the live streaming, and she seems like the type that would not want to look at them. What I had an extreme issue with was why was this the day OF ALL DAYS that she felt sorry for Jodi?? That did not make any sense.

As far as the people like Jenny, I think they are just shown some clips before-hand to get ready for the show...they don't actually watch the trial or look at the gruesome pictures, etc.. That's why she can say, oh I felt sorry for Jodi...b/c she saw a few clips of her looking swollen-eyed and generally worn out. When people say things like that, what I think is that Jodi had the power to not do this...it's very simple....she made the decision. Now she has to live or die for that decision. Nobody made her do it. If she had a "hard" weekend, she did it to herself. If she's sad in jail, she did it to herself. If she misses her freedoms, she did it to herself. Not only did she affect herself, but most importantly she took away someone's life who DID NOT HAVE A CHOICE. And she has also negatively impacted many many people who DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE. It was all Jodi's choice.

I would like for DrDrew to not go "there" anymore on his show. I keep thinking would they have so much "compassion" if one of, God forbid, THEIR LOVED ONES had done to them what happened to Travis. So I don't think they should judge. I am really thinking about not watching his show anymore.

Wow..i saw a crude drawing of an elaphant facing a tombstone..unless my mind is playing tricks on me.

To me it looks like an elephant with it's backside up against a tombstone~ but then I'm only on my first cup of coffee.

Has anyone else noticed how HUGE CMJA's Hands are? I have just recently noticed when she puts her hands up to her face they are extremely huge for a woman? Is it just me or is anyone else seeing that too? Brawny man hands...

I have noticed this also. I have seen several posts discussing her hands from several other members here in prior message threads so you are certainly not alone in your observations.

If I'm not mistaken, JVM expressed that it is not Jodi's actual cell but a similar one. I wouldn't get my panties all in a bunch over it.

Just an FYI, She corrected that later in the show saying it was indeed her cell.

Agreed... I dont think this is going to require another jury.. I feel this jury wants to see this through to the end...jmo:twocents:

I have noticed this also. Very strange that her hands are so large for a female with a height of 5'6". I have seen several posts discussing her obvious "man hands" from several other members here in prior message threads so you are certainly not alone in your observations. :floorlaugh:

I looked over at her in court one day and she had one of her bony mitts resting by her face and wrote in my notes" her hands are as big as her damn head". Verbatim ;)

I think if she doesn't get the death penalty it will be because the jurors realize she belongs in a state mental institution for the remainder of her life.

I've been reading up on whether or not past juries have considered borderline personality disorder a mitigating factor, and how DTs have at least tried to sway juries towards mercy because their client had that disorder.

I think that the DT could have had a shot at a credible mitigation argument if they had been allowed to argue BPD. They could even have woven in her claims of childhood abuse to help explain what caused the disorder, and then explained how the disorder caused their client to act in ways that spiralled into deadly rage.

It isn't impossible to believe that one juror might believe such an argument was sufficient to spare her life.

This client, however, clearly refuses to accept that she has any mental problems, and clearly has rejected using mental illness as a mitigator. Her choice.

You would think! The mitigation phase should have been ready to go and witnesses line up to testify.

It kinda says VOLUMES that after all the digging into 32 years of Jodi's life that the BEST mitigation witnesses the specialist could come up with are Patty & Darryl. (I had planned to be more descriptive of these two, but managed to rein my fingers in.:seeya:)

I dont think she should have even the smallest luxury of those colored sheets...jmo...she should have dingy old white scratchy sheets...:twocents:

I agree...but I understand why Sheriff Joe has the pink policy...reduced theft

I'm sure none of you mean to be offensive, but this hand thing was bandied about a while ago during the trial. Several members took offense because they have large hands and are sensitive to that criticism. Again, I know nobody is doing it intentionally, but when it comes to comments about physical characteristics you never know who might take offense. Just FYI.

At the memorial service, did Jodi request to speak?

Jodi's huge hands have attracted most court watchers attention I think only because we know what she did with them. Her bangs now are a different story. And I have bangs yet reserve the right to rip on hers ad to the point of nauseum.
