She heard VM from JLY...VM was left at 12:15pm on Fri, asking her to go to house to pick up fax.

Missed the call...went to voicemail. Came in 12:14. Asking if she could go to the house for a print out in the office. Purse.

So from 4:30am-ish until that phone call at 12:15pm, he didn't even try to get someone to the house to take care of the baby.

No mention of purse during call going to Cracker Barrel.

<deep breath>

I am so sending you strength Meredith.

Meredith expected Michelle to be at work and to get home about 5 pm.

Lamp posts were lit at 1 in the afternoon. Typically shut off at night.

Pulled into drive and realized gate was open. Not usual. Went to front door, realized she didn't have the key.

She's a great witness, btw. Clear, articulate, poised. What a wonderful woman she is.

Garage door was broken. She heard water running, like a hose lightly running.

Gate was open, unusual because of dog. Went to front door, realized she did not have her key so went to the garage, found the door was locked but garage door was broken so she could get in that way. Heard water running she thought. Did not expect to see Michelle's car in the garage.

Michelles car was in the garage, which she wasn't expecting.
15 minute break.

The defense is going to attempt to make hay of Meredith giving her key to the Birchleaf house to a friend a while back. Meredith did say however, she had the key back, just didn't put it on the ring. Probably will try to say the "friend" could have made a copy... any bets ?

Going back 'n forth between this trial & the C.A. trial. I have never before attempted to follow 2 trials at one time. This is hard work! If anyone wants to see an amazing kickass female prosecutor in action, go check out Linda Drane Burdick, lead prosecutor of that trial. She is awesome.

edit: not to take anything away from Becky Holt of this case, who is also a great prosecutor.
