The Blue Barrel in the Bedroom? #3

Good point. They could even be tied onto a barrel and be used to keep the barrel from floating while the body inside was decomposing and letting off gases.
If a barrel was used in SP's disposal I think it would have only been used to transport her body, then dumped.

He bought these other containers 4 years ago? Who was he married to at the time? (I'll go check the timeline thread!)

I agree TG..I don't think Stacy is in the barrel anylonger. I think that was used as a way to transport her. I think that those other containers may have contained other evidence, such as the phone records Drew highlighted and made notes on, the diary she had, any recordings he had made, all his bugging devices, etc. He would have needed to get rid of those too because otherwise the police would have evidence he was stalking her, etc. Drew was a busy boy when it came to stalking and terroeizing..he would have a lot of things he would need to dump quickly. Maybe even things from Kathy and previous wives that showed his stalking behavior.

If he never thought he would get caught he would have been able to just dispose of those things in the trash or at a landfill or dumpster..but when CC arrived at 2:30 AM to say she had reported Stacy missing..things had to go into overdrive fast at that house.

The only way I can see using those containers would have been if a body was dismembered like what was mentioned. If they were used in any way they could have used as weights however, especially if filled with heavy objects, sand, or other.
Weren't some weights, from weightlifting, also missing? There would be some evidence of that (dismembering) in his house or around his house and it seems too difficult with the kids around, like when did he have the time to do it? Unless he took her somewhere else but then why need the containers?

If Stacy was dismemebered, there would be evidence all over the house/car, which doesn't appear to be the case.

I still say he needed a barrel for Stacy or the rectangular box..to remove her from the house. The rest could be filled with other things he needed to dispose of quickly. And I do think that the chlorine barrel probably still had enough chlorine in it to help with her disposal and to help with taking care of any cleanup he needed to do post haste.

I do not see pretty boy Drew getting his hands and body dirty while dismembering her body..especially with all the children in the house. That's a loud messy project.

Drew is too much of a pretty boy to do something like that. He would not want to sully himself like that..remember everything must be clean and neat with Drew.

The weights were scuba diving weights of Drews. When you dive the more body weight you have the heavier the weights are you need to use so that you can sink and scuba. I know that doesn't sound right but it is a fact.

From the looks of Drew I 'd say he needed weights = to a few cinder blocks to get his bloated over weight body to sink in a dive. So they were probably very heavy weights compared to what a lighter person like Stacy would need.

I agree DD. I don't see him being able to dismember the body while in the house with the kids.
I often wonder if they didn't have a fight, he then followed her to the airport where her car supposedly was and THEN he took her somewhere else and killed her. The barrel may have nothing to do with the body IMHO. He may of gotten rid of other evidence. I have nothing to base this on, and I admit it's speculation, but I just have a feeling about this because the kids said "Stacy and Dad had a fight and she took off and dad went looking for her"

Agreed, unless he did it elsewhere, which I doubt due to the time it would take to do so.

I think the scuba weights sank her body, the barrel and containers were used to transport her intact and other the evidence of his spying, stalking, bugging behavior. He may have used the chlorine at some point but I don't think in the house..maybe the cars..and I do think the chlorine was bought to help in her murder cover up, but I think that he had sufficently drained it beforehand so there was just enough there for what ever his purpose was. It is possible he used it in the cars or on items in the house..but not carpets etc where it would be unusual to find chlorine.

We buy barrells of chlorine every spring. It is not liquid, but powder, (or we can buy it in plastic wrapped tablets for the pool floaters inside a barrell). Our pool is 30,000 gallons, and the barrels last us all summer in extreme heat. We don't measure the barrells in gallons, but in dry weights/pounds. I went into the garage today and thought about what size body would fit in one of the barrells. It would be a squeeze, but possible. We also use other pool chemicals - like muriatic acid - which would do far more harm to any biology than chlorine would.

I agree about the muriatic acid. Just opening it sends up fumes and think besides pools, it is used to clean oil stains off concrete.

My only hesitation with the muriatic acid is does it eat through plastic? I know we have used it on bricks before to clean the surface, and concrete.
But they had an above ground pool with a plastic liner..would muriatic acid eat through that plastic liner?

Did anyone notice from the overhead shots of the house, the pool is green. What was the chorline used for? It certainly wasn't for the pool

Maybe his intent wasn't for pool cleaning but for removing tissue etc. from a body that was dismembered. I can see this possible with Drew. Leaving no prints or fiber evidence and then scattering the remains over an extended area. I truly think he is that evil.

I believe I read somewhere that it is an "above ground" pool, too. They are certainly warmer, but smaller, and green means a lack of chlorine.

What kind of container does the muriatic acid come in?
Would muriatic acid be used in an above ground pool?

Muriatic acid is downright scary. I hate to measure it and add it to the pool myself. You can almost see it "smoking" as you're pouring it (and it is a liquid). I don't know if it would eat through plastic because I don't have any, but I wouldn't doubt it.

We buy it in the pool supply stores in bottles that resemble household bleach bottles ---- white plastic. Guess that answers that question. Plastic can contain it.
