This is Ubercreepy. Casey Anthony, "She's close. She's close."

ZsaZsa, I could be wrong, but I have a feeling CA made that up all by herself. She was of course the ring leader right after she knew she had to be in "cover KC's butt" mode.
The reason I say this is because in Tracy M's interview, she says how CA talks about digging up the bamboo shoots, and KC replies "and also to pull the ladder out of the pool" as GA walked in shaking his head...and CA telling KC to basically put a lid on it.

No matter who started it, it was indeed stupid as you say. I literally snorted at your "bamboo emergency" comment :D

Didn't you just love the interview where CA says KC borrowed the shovel to dig up some Bamboo from their backyard. It must have been an emergency Bamboo situation, it couldn't wait till they got home? :innocent:
KC had a nerve telling her mother that and expecting her to believe it, but it takes way more nerve/stupidity for CA to get up in public and say that, and then not realize that everyone listening was snickering ...

I think cindy made that up all by her little lonesome. I'm betting casey didn't offer any explanation if she was even asked. That is pure cindy. She thought it up and how dare anyone question it.
Remember cindy's other little story about how casey wanted to leave a note of apology for busting into the storage shed and stealing the gas cans?
Yeah, right. Did she have a habit of leaving apology notes after every theft?
Dear Grandpa,
So sorry I forged that little check off your nursing home account. I really, really, needed some new outfits cuz I got a new job as a shot girl manager.
Love casey.
sheeeeesh!

I find Cindy's choice of words very telling in this early statement because she maintained that Caylee was alive. Why would you "look under every bush" for a live Caylee? Cindy knew in her heart based on Casey's lies, the recognizable odor in the car and finding Caylee's beloved "Mama" doll laying in the back seat that Caylee was truly gone. Her words in this early quotation show her true inner fears about her granddaughter. Her words during one of the 911 calls, "something's wrong" sum it all up.

I too noted Cindy's use of the words........"look under every bush" as telling. Two days after Casey's arrest, Cindy was in full cover-up mode, yet some of the things she said just didn't add up or little slips like "look under every bush" told the true story.

I remember thinking at the time that nothing Cindy said added up to a kidnapped child. Cindy never even made a plea for the kidnapper to return Caylee. I was convinced from the beginning that Caylee was deceased and Casey had killed her, either accidentally or on purpose.

And in my opinion, all of those lies are a direct insult to Caylee's memory. What are they even thinking with this nonsense? It's all about Casey.

It's about friggin time!

(snipped)

Casey Anthony attorneys, Jose Baez and Ann E. Finnell, filed a motion to set a "reasonable budget" for the "penalty phase" of the case.

They've requested costs for: a private investigator not to exceed $5,000; a psychiatrist or psychologist at a "reasonable hourly rate" not to exceed $7,500; costs for copying medical and school records not to exceed $1,000 and an additional 100 hours for a mitigation specialist at a "previously approved rate."

They've also requested travel expenses and lodging for Finnell, not to exceed $4,000; travel expenses for an investigator or mitigation specialist to go to Ohio with lodging and expenses not to exceed $1,500; and travel expenses and lodging for Finnell from Jacksonville to Orlando at approved rates if the case goes to trial.

The cleaning out the car and hiding it in the garage just floored me. How many parents would clean their kids car after having to shell out lots of $$ because their kid is lazy and obviously not a responsible person. I think most of us would have parked it in the driveway and waited for our child to return and they would be the ones cleaning it.
Yes, can you believe it? they actually looked in the backyard after they returned home. IRRC they looked in the playhouse, Ummmmmm me thinks there is a reason they looked back there. Perhaps casey moved something she shouldn't have and the parents first clue was that car??? hmmmmmm

As bad as the car smelled, why not park it in the driveway and open everything? I assume that it was to keep Casey from coming by and taking the car. If you recall, they also removed the battery. They both knew that whatever happened was very bad. Their actions prove that much.

I've thought about that too hornswoggled. Whey would they put that car in the garage with that odor? They had to know it would permeate the entire house.

What I came up with was - it was raining. Remember George had to keep the window rolled down to drive the car home even though it was raining?

So if they had to air it out, they couldn't do that outside in the rain.

Wait....what? They removed the car battery? Who? GA and CA? When? Why? This seems kinda huge to me.

Yes, when GA and CA brought the car home on July 15, 2008 they removed the battery. They were both heading back to work and didn't want someone (meaning KC) to be able to take the car.

Found it in Cindy's 8/4/08 interview with OCSO. http://www.thehinkymeter.com/Library/CMA/interviews/cindyanthony080408.pdf

Okay. And then uh, George drove the car home and you followed him in your….?
A Yes. And we parked it in the garage, opened everything up, took the battery out of it just in case
someone came home to try to get the car we took the battery out of it. Never know.
Q Someone being?
A I don’t know anybody. I have no idea, I’m not, I don’t wanna speculate on something I don’t
know but that’s our thought was.

I remember reading that about them removing the car battery to prevent Casey from taking the car. Which in retrospect seems kind of lame now. Casey obviously abandoned the car due to the smell and they are expecting her to come back for it now? Or were they thinking they would prevent anyone else from taking it?:waitasec:

ETA: 'Somebody' like the police perhaps? Before they could remove the smell? :cow:

Yes! I was just thinking how weird Cindy's answer was and why she just didn't say they removed the battery so KC couldn't take the car. But then it hit me. She didn't want to answer the question because it was the police she and George were thinking of keeping the car from not KC. OMG....

But LE wouldn't care if the battery was removed or not - if they wanted the car it would have been towed away - not driven. George would know that.

Wait ..... When Ga went to get the car the first time, he smelled the car-he knew what the odor was.....he was a cop.......he admitted he knew what the smell was.....
so why didn't he call 911 then and there- KC, nor Caylee was in the trunk, but he knew full well someone had been in it.....how did he know it had not been KC or Caylee and that they may have been dumped somewhere.........h-m-m-m-m
Why would he or CA want the car touched or cleaned before reporting to the police first...I certainly would if I found the car, but not my daughter or granddaughter.....

He later yelled at the media.."The person that was in the back of my daughter's car,
was not my granddaughter"....
so (imo) he knew someone had been in the trunk, therefore, who did he think it had been?

A *very* interesting analysis on Cindy and taking the battery out of the car.....

Does Cindy Anthony Believe a Car is More Important Than Caylee?

Yeah, it's kind of weak, but maybe they were speculating about what if someone reports the smell (the tow yard people, a neighbor) to LE while they were at work and hoped it would slow LE down. Ha, like LE would call them for the keys to the car or something. LOL, now I think I'm loosing it. But, you know, George and Cindy are not the sharpest crayons in the box either.

So, if my original feeling that the "someone" Cindy was referring to was KC, why didn't Cindy just say that instead the very deceptive answer she gave?

. . . she had already gone into her my daughter is perfect ~ "Mother of the Year" mode?

By the time they took the battery out CA had already texted KC, so KC knew that her parents were aware and would retrieve the Pontiac from the towyard. I do think CA was referring to KC when she said "somebody". They knew the car smelled of death. They were scared and in shock. The Pontiac was their trump card and they were going to use it to finally find Casey and they were going to make her talk. They removed the battery to keep KC from coming by the house and taking that car. Cindy cleaned it up to destroy evidence, but she was determined to keep that car from disappearing (like her daughter and granddaughter) until she found out just exactly WTH was going on. jmho

But Beach, why would Casey want to take the stinky car that she had been so anxious to be rid of?

I don't know that Casey did want to take it, but I believe Cindy & George thought it was a real possibility.

They hadn't seen Caylee in 31 days...that Pontiac was ALL they had and things didn't look good AT ALL. They both knew that car smelled like human decomp. They wanted answers NOW and weren't taking any chances on that car disappearing. I am still shocked they both went back to work. jmo

I agree Beach - the Pontiac was the only thing Cindy could control at that point. I don't think she realized that would be the last thing she could ever control again regarding Casey. Her world was about to spin forever out of control, and the worst possible outcome became the reality.

I think that going back to work was the attempt to make things appear "normal" to the world at large. But I believe Cindy's brain was completely rattled despite her attempt to appear normal at work. Later that same day when she found Casey, and made the three 911 calls, reality had begun to settle over her. When Casey was hauled off by LE, Cindy realized that she may lose Casey as well as Caylee and went into cover-up mode.
