Sherrie Shuck, an aunt of Brandon Daniel, is now on the stand. She is the county attorney of Pottawatomie County in Kansas.

Shuck used to be a law enforcement officer. Remember in a jail phone call, Daniel's mother said "All cops are crooked, even my sister."

As around age 15 or 16, Daniel went to live with his aunt Sherri for a couple of months. We worked at McDonald's

We don't know.. court started with a new defense witness, former coworker of the defendant, who went to visit him in jail 4 times.

Daniel told his aunt that his mother let him drink at home. Shuck sat him down & made clear, as an officer, she couldn't allow pot or drugs

Shuck says Daniel's mother had a liberal attitude about marijuana use and she thinks that's what led her to move family to Colorado

Schuck testified #BrandonDaniel lived w/her in Kansas for a couple of months when he was 15 or 16 yrs old. Went to school there.

Schuck starts to cry a little as she testifies about the day she got the call concerning the homicide of an Austin Officer.

Schuck said initially she thought detective was calling because Daniel may have been a witness. Then the detective said he had been arrested

Schuck says she has had a strained relationship with her sister (Daniel's mother.) Said they didn't talk for months after Daniel's arrest.
