5/22/20 Vanessa Guillen's family loves her, misses, her, and most of all wants her back.

Also added, is a translation from Spanish, of what Vanessa's Mom said at the 5/21 presser.
Mom claims a sergeant was sexually harassing Vanessa and that Vanessa was afraid to tell.

I can certainly believe Vanessa was being sexually harassed. My granddaughter was Air Force Security Forces (military police) at Lackland AFB, then at Osan in Korea. Harassing does happen especially when a female is in a position usually occupied by a male. Know when the harassing stopped at Osan? When SHE was the one sitting on top of the jeep with the really big swivel gun while patrolling. She met her future husband over there and got out of the Air Force when she became pregnant.

Vanessa was a small arms repairer. She probably got a lot of razzing because of her position which most might think of as a male position. And of course any guy could see how pretty and tiny she was at 5'2". I am so not surprised Vanessa would be reluctant to report this person if the harassment was going on and he was of higher rank.

She might have gone along with that person so as not to make him mad, or maybe DID refuse him and now she is missing.

I still believe the person responsible will be an older, married man of superior rank.

Beltonian, do you have a gym in Belton? Does Belton border Ft. Hood?

Thank you in advance for any answer you can give me.

Good morning:)
We do have plenty of gyms in Belton but they all are being closed since mid March. Belton is 20-30 min drive from Fort Hood depending which road you take - highway or rural back road. Killeen is really bordering FT Hood though - you are literally leaving Base and you are in Killeen.
I am sure Vanessa's phone records were investigated and they have a good idea what happened, it just takes time...

I agree, LaLaw2000. I’ll go one step further. Other people know who this person is and because of who he is they have kept their mouth shut or even covered for him.
I suspect that investigators know who this person is. I think that they are desperately looking for ways not to have to ever reveal who this person is or what he did. They think that this poor guy deserves a break because they like him so much. He is a charmer. It’s amazing how some of the most immoral men can groom other men and women to the point that they are loyal to him. He can literally get away with anything.

Resident of Killeen Texas?

I'm doing some personal research regarding Bell County and specifically the Maxdale, Texas and Maxdale Bridge location areas.

I'm interested in locating an answer to the following questions.

1.) Is the land adjacent to the Maxdale Bridge used for onion and/or cantaloupe farming?

2.) There seems to be a small pond very near the Maxdale Bridge. I believe the West direction. It's difficult for me to determine if it has water or not. Is there a name associated with this pond?

3.) Are there actual unpaved roads that a driver can take to the Maxdale Bridge/Mill Creek and near that area?

Thank you.

Thank you. I appreciate your time.

I think that's the Lampasas River. Moo

Yes, there are searching Miller Springs Park because two psychics on You Tube have stated this location.

Like clockwork, in every somewhat high profile missing case there’s always psychics taking advantage of the grieving family and the publicity of the case for attention. Drives me mad every single time. So glad WS doesn’t allow any of that on here

I hope they locate her by any means possible...it's been weeks. Facts and evidence will solve this case.

Agree. A peer private could also have been harassing her also, but a private would not have the same cover or generate the same fear of reprisal. MOO it would be reported if not by her, then someone else who saw it.
They would at least tell the investigators their suspicions.

I don’t know if the family hired a PI but even if they did I don’t know how much good it would do.

Imagine having to investigate a kidnapping on an Air Force Base, where every single person there must answer to somebody just above them and the code is to keep your mouth shut. Even if you’re just family of the military personnel, Your marriage and financial security depend upon not getting crossways with anybody else in the military even if you’re right and they’re wrong. Any records that must be legally provided to a private investigator or other civilian could be easily doctored or incomplete. MOO

Just as it is within any government agency, the integrity of it’s members is dictated by the administration you report directly to. If administration leans toward looking the other way, even in seemingly insignificant situations, the system will be taken advantage of by its more volatile members.

Don't forget part of belton does "border" Ft. Hood property out by BLORA (outdoor recreation) area.

I don’t need to explain anything. My posts clearly states MOO: my opinion only.

I think what @Laughing was driving at was: did you inadvertently say AF when you meant young ladies disappearing from an Army base (i.e. like this one, Fort Hood) or were you pointing to another case of young ladies disappearing from an AF base as well? If the latter, can you recall which one so we can read up on that too? So many military-related missing people in recent times, it’s damned hard to keep track of them all!

I fully agree with all your comments on PI’s limited chances of success, and how the integrity of the overall system is only as good as the signals given and steps taken by the leadership. If they don’t root out the bad apples from the pile, the whole crop can be quickly spoiled.

That makes sense. My mistake! I should have said “military base”. Thanks for pointing that out!

Family of missing Fort Hood soldier holds search parties in Belton, Copperas Cove

BELTON, Texas — The morning of May 30, more than 60 family members and friends of Guillen gathered at Miller Springs Park in Belton to hold a search party,
and cover as much ground as possible.

"I am hoping we can cross a big area off the map," Mayra Guillen, Vanessa's older sister, said. "It's a huge area we need to search."

Is this area off the base?

Would be such a helpless feeling having a loved one go missing from a military base and not be allowed to search on the base. That base is gigantic with so much unincorporated land.
