Wonder if accidental death has been considered. The Police seem to have concentrated on Claudia's personal life, but its crossed my mind that maybe she wasn't murdered but was accidently killed on her walk to work after being hit by an over the limit driver.

Finally .......

The father of Claudia Lawrence, a chef who has been missing since 2009, has said he is "delighted" that a new law to help the families of missing people has cleared Parliament.

"Claudia's Law" will allow a missing person's relatives to look after financial affairs and property on their behalf after they have been gone for more than 90 days.

This is great news and will make a big difference to the families of missing people. I'm glad it's in Claudia's name, feels right.

Now, Claudia, where are you?

Claudia's mum has asked to look at the collection of women's clothes found in serial killer Christopher Halliwell's home, to see if she recognises anything: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/claudia-lawrences-mum-asks-see-10672093

Thinking that it might be helpful if those items were available to view by others with missing family members, imo.
Also good for people to keep an eye open for " chef whites " they may come across.rbbm.
A store of 60 items of clothing was discovered near to where a victim of the convicted double killer had been found.

And desperate Joan Lawrence, 73, wants to find out if Halliwell is behind her chef daughter’s disappearance.

She suggested her sleepwear had gone missing and said: “Her chef whites have never been found that she would’ve had with her on her way to work that day.

“I really want to see this bundle of clothing. I can’t let this lie until I see them. I’d know instantly if there was something belonging to my daughter. Although it will be unbearably hard, I know I’ve got to see them.”

Investigators want to check Chris Halliwell's 'trophy store' for 'link' to unsolved deaths
“The immediate and obvious source of linked evidence is the 60 items of women’s clothing found, together with a shotgun, at Ramsbury in May 2014”

Halliwell, a divorced father of three, had access to 80 cars or taxi cabs and drove fares across the UK.

At the time of his conviction in 2012, police said they were sure he had killed previously.

Missing chef Claudia Lawrence, 35, who disappeared on March 19, 2009, was last seen near her home in Heworth, York – not far from where Halliwell’s father lived.

They yesterday released a grainy CCTV image of the dark blue or black 4x4, which is thought to be a Ford Ranger Thunder. The truck was parked one house down from Claudia's home for around 30 minutes on Wednesday, March 18.

My review indicates that a white vauxhall astra was seen to be parked opposite Claudia's house for approximately 30 minutes on the evening before her disappearance. Is the dark colored car a new theory?

White Vauxhall Astra van parked near Claudia's home on night of her disappearance
The investigation team need to trace the owner of a white Vauxhall Astra van that was parked on the opposite side of the road of Claudia's house, towards the Costcutter shop and the fish and chip shop.
It was there for at least 30 minutes from 9.01pm on Wednesday 18 March 2009. This was confirmed by CCTV footage on a passing bus

Det Supt Malyn said: “The driver of the white Vauxhall Astra van may have vital information that could assist our enquiries and is urged to come forward. If you know who it is please get in touch straight away

news article today - much of what we already know but I had not seen this info re Claudia talking to Halliwell..

In an emotional meeting with Claudia's mother Joan, 72, she ( Becky Godden's mother ) revealed how a witness saw Halliwell talking to Claudia through the window of a taxi.
'Claudia was asking if he had change so she could ring her dad from a call box.

Massive red flag if true. It hasn't been substantiated by the Police however and that's the first I've ever heard of it?

Hi everyone,

I am new to WS. I was actually on here reading about Terri Bevers but as I live about 17 miles from York and have followed this case since it happened I actively searched for a thread about Claudia. I find the whole case very eerie and it really struck a chord with me as I am a female in my 30s and live quite close.

I believe that the black or navy truck above was traced. The owner did come forward. But I find the Ford Focus the most suspicious of all the vehicles mentioned here. I wonder if that vehicle stopped to offer her a lift as I do tend to think she accepted a lift that morning from someone she knew and then came to harm. I agree with the theories that she presented a "problem" for a man she was involved with, she might have wanted them to leave their spouse, she might have been pregnant, or something else. Then again, she could have been abducted, some of the route is quiet and lonely at that time of the morning.

Although the accidental death scenario could work, there would be signs of this along the route, such as broken car parts/lights or blood. The car would have been damaged and need to be repaired. I can't see someone being that good at keeping it quiet as it would be a very sudden and traumatic experience.

I also believe the guy on the CCTV is suspicious and is the same man. Based on the amount of time they are in the area it seems obvious they are doing the same check at night as they do in the morning. What it is we don't know but any local man would have been observed doing it daily or at least regularly. I am not sure why RC's family are so convinced it's him in the morning but not at night (if this is the case, I might totally have misunderstood this part).

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and join in. I feel very sorry for Claudia and her family and friends. I wish this case was solved and remain hopeful it will be.

Welcome to Ws Biscat813, delighted to have you here!
:welcome:

Thank you for the welcome dotr and jessie!

It did occur to me that perhaps the Focus was actually dropping Claudia back at her house that morning after she stayed at their house and that perhaps it was the mysterious boyfriend. But the time doesn't work, she would have arrived home too late to get to work if she was walking and couldn't have been the person seen talking on Melrosegate Bridge. For her to be abducted someone had to know the area well, to know that she couldn't have been picked up on CCTV or seen from any nearby houses.

Was the route examined forensically before blood and maybe other trace evidence would be washed away?

Former policeman Mark Williams-Thomas exposes the truth that could SOLVE the case of Jill Dando - and he believes there's a mystery person holding a vital clue to Claudia Lawrence's murder
He has been given unprecedented access to the files for each cold case

There was certainly two or more people involved, and those individuals certainly had contact with in some capacity The Nag’s Head as the local pub.

I spent quite a bit of time in the locality [of the murder], the Nag’s Head is so crucial because of the clientele that used to visit that pub. The clientele that visit that pub hold the clue to finally unlocking to what happened to Claudia.

I hope that what our mini-series will show is that all we need is one person out there to finally unlock this. Because there is a girlfriend, an ex-partner, a lover who I believe holds the key to the truth.
