Those who think they see a figure putting something in a backseat, does it seem possible that it might be a child’s car seat? Ostensibly, the suspect’s car would’ve had at least one of them which might’ve needed to be moved to accommodate an adult passenger in the seat
formerly occupied by the child’s car seat?

In uk you don’t ever put a baby seat in front seat. I doubt it. He’s got 2 kids. He’d have 2 child seats, both in the back.

I couldn’t see them last night at all either but they are visible looking through the drivers window through to the other side of the street. To me, we see bare legs twice, bending or buckling at knee before being jolted back and put into car and then we see the mans legs, wearing either shorts and knee socks or tight ski type pants and long boots through window as he closes the door.

I think it looks a bit like he might be draping a coat or something over the passenger seat? Maybe to stop her hair getting onto the seat material

now that the video is more clear, i see him zipping his pants in the first shot we get of him. he is facing the car, zipping his pants, and then pulls his sweater over his fly. could he have assaulted her over on or near the bench? or pulled her into those thick bushes (surrounding the bench), or just around the corner from where she was last seen on the bench? is it dark there at night? and is it possible what we are seeing is immediately following an assault? either she was passed out drunk or something terrible happened (over near the bench) during the assault, and that's why he goes back over there and then brings what looks like a person and drops her into his car? maybe he's sitting there on the driver's side, after he assaulted her, trying to figure out what to do now with her. just thinking/typing out loud.

This sounds v plausible to me. Having assaulted her on impulse, he is left with the problem of his DNA being present and so he has to take Libby away? Must have all happened very quickly but it is possible IMO

I'm still wondering why they released this footage to the public now. If it were only in hopes that the cyclist comes forward they wouldn't have had to show anything of PR, just the few seconds when the guy cycles past. Why do they want us to see this? I find it really puzzling. Maybe they're suspecting he had help and are trying to put pressure on that person?

Very good question, and I really really wonder too why it was released. There is definitelly some reason behind it...

I don't know why they released it either.

I did wonder if they did it because people seem a little upset that his name is in the media. So they want to show that there is good reason to suspect someone harmed her.

Or I thought they may want people to take this seriously and prove that she didn't harm herself or run away.

It is a good way to keep the case in the media and raise awareness to get more witnesses. Off topic, but I have always thought that police working the Delphi murders need to release more to get back in the headlines

UK police is notorious for not releasing much to media or public in many of the cases. Libby's case is already high profile, so, it was not released for publicity or public satisfaction. This video is part of the evidence... reason must be something else in my humble opinion...

If you all notice full length video is around 7 min long. BUT what we see or was released to us is around 1 min and half of it only. All the rest (5 and half min) is cut out. And not cut out in one place but in different and multiple places from that video. Then some bits of video are slowed down and some made faster.

Who's job was to do all that editing? What is the point? What is the reason to release this version to public?

Small note - guy sits down around 2.20 and gets up around 5.20 but time he sits is edited, cut from video too so it appears short time. So he sat there for around 3 min, clearly waiting for someone. Only when he sees someone is approaching, he gets up looking that way, goes around the car and open the car doors.

Whoever came to his car came unaided. Lift was probably agreed few min prior to start of this video and he was waiting for her.

They need any and all witnesses to come forward specifically in relation to this car

That's why they've release dramatic footage

I don’t see wellies or long boots.

I see more like cropped joggers/sweatpants and trainers. A bit like these.

Also, from the map posted - it’s likely they have CCTV from elsewhere so I think there must be a reason behind the CCTV in the Sun, if the police have released it. It’s weird that PR is so close to his house. I wonder if they are trying to put pressure on someone else who might know something.

Late last night I watched it again and saw what you see. But then I also saw shorter shorts like I saw. I can see both....

I've watched the video over and over at first I couldn't really make much out of it but now to me it seems as if he is pushing someone back against the seat and then putting a jacket over them. Still can't quite make out someone else getting in the car though

He sits down pretty sharpish... possibly when he notices the driver of the other car appearing. And then once that car has gone, he's up again and off. Could he be just faking that he's busily rolling a cigarette just to look innocent? What was he about to do before he sat down? Was he about to make his move, but then the driver of the other car appeared?

good observation

Good point @Al Ka on the timing.
Had he already assaulted her and was figuring out a plan on how to cover it up, where he could take her? I just don’t think it’s plausible he would assault someone on a busy road though, it’s too risky.
IMO she ‘willingly’ walked/was helped to the car, I don’t think she could be lifted or dragged, that’s pretty difficult to do, esp surreptitiously.
Maybe he was thinking how he could take her somewhere else and was planning it out, and also potentially he was questioning himself whether he was really going to do this and go through with it?

I am as certain as I can be that the person we believe to be Libby enters the vehicle on her knees, as if she has stumbled or been pushed. When someone sits in a passenger seat ‘naturally’ there is usually a beat between that and the door closing to allow them to swing their legs into the car/ pull a bag or coat in and onto their lap/ onto the floor. Looks to me like the door closes immediately after Libby enters the car because she goes in knees first onto the seat in one movement. I agree that it does also look like a coat is then maybe thrown over her or at her and the door is quickly shut.

Can I just say catching up reading , that people are saying she had no keys on her , this is not a fact just a thought by us . I didn’t want people to keep seeing ‘no keys’ mentioned and take that as proven

Yes I said this - it looks black or very dark and like a jacket to me. But maybe she was cold and he was trying to keep her warm?
To me it looks like he lays something over the person in the passenger side before shutting the door. My guess is a jacket.

Morning all.

Couple of thoughts before I start:

1, I'm not convinced the the Newland Avenue CCTV is the same car.
2, If the CCTV is a last ditch effort by Police to get say the cyclist before their time is up with suspect then wouldn't it be more useful to place the appeal on the mobile billboard etc locally?

Also the Hull Daily Mail are saying Police have to charge or release by 21:11 tonight? I thought this could be extended a further 24 hours if needs be or is it the Police will keep that in reserve for later use?

i dont think think libby was assaulted on the bench. Its not a high traffic area but a cyclist, bearded guy, car all past by in a short period of time.

I can see why libby would have trusted someone her own age more than the bearded older gentleman. Maybe the older guy freaked her out a bit and then when someone younger has offered to help she has accepted.

At the start of the cctv he is approaching the car from the bench side , is this when he first made contact with libby?! im interested in finding out how long he was parked there for.

He certainly looks directly at the camera and turns his back to it.
