I believe the testimony about retrieving her body stated that she was not wearing pants?
Oh, I must have missed that. I saw that the guy who saw her in the water reported she had a sports bra on her top half and a black skirt and shoes on the lower half, but I felt this was a lay-person's description of what he could actually see, but I wasn't sure if there was any formal confirmation of no underwear.

I was wondering if he might have been looking for a sex worker - but i don't know if any worked around there

But you see how late he was out - so that suggests he was looking for vulnerable people IMO

I don't think sex workers would be afraid of him or his actions and it's the shock and fear that drive the act.

He couldn't even pay a sex worker to role play it for him as he'd know the fear wasn't real.

Relowicz is back in the witness box
Mr Wright is taking Relowicz through his police interviews and what he said about meeting Libby at this time.

Relowicz told police he saw a man in a baseball cap walking past but now says he said the man was stood nearby.

He said: “I walked past her, the guy with the baseball cap was stood at the bus stop and she was on the ground. She was crying.

“I told the police I noticed blood on her when I first approached her.”

Relowicz questioned over trip to Oak Road
He says he knew - apart from the house where Sam Alford lived - there was no other houses on Oak Road.

Relowicz said he has “never parked his vehicle” at the end of Oak Road, but Mr Wright says his headlights were caught on the end of the street.

Relowicz said this was where his car turned around.

He says the first time he visited Oak Road on January 31 it “was not about masturbating, but watching someone” but could not find anyone.

Relowicz said he later visited Alexandra Road and walked around to see if he could see a woman to masturbate at, but did not find anyone.

He must have a permanent erection. I wonder if the Police found Viagra in his house?

Jury shown chilling CCTV of Pawel following another woman walking alone
The court is being shown chilling CCTV footage of Relowicz pulled up on Newland Avenue.

A woman can be seen walking on her own on the opposite side of the street. As she gets level with Relowicz’s car, the car starts.

Relowicz says “this is a coincidence.

“I’m not saying I didn’t see her.”

Mr Wright said: “You shot up the road to your favourite spot on Alexandra.”

In the CCTV, the woman can be seen turning left, off the road.

Mr Wright said: “Had you driven to Alexandra, hoping she would continue up the road so you could masturbate at her?”

Relowicz has denied this.

Mr Wright is fantastic.

her friends concern can be interpreted in a different way - from the testimony -
her friends first drove about as they expected to find her ‘wandering the streets’ ...... this is before texting mum, or calling the police. They believed the police would find her ‘wandering around’ too.
They just wanted to get her home safely. It was cold and she was drunk.

Nathan Murphy was not overly worried .... he said
‘After this call (informing him of the call to police) I was still not worried and thought there would be a genuine reason why she had not got home. I went to bed and the next day me and my friend were talking about how over the top the response had been.’
One of the statements said they went to Libby's favourite take-aways first. Sounds like they thought she might have gone looking for something to eat. I don't think it suggests anything more than that.

Relowicz accused of changing story to fit his defence
Mr Wright said: “When you gave evidence on Monday you added more detail we’d never heard before. You told Mr Saxby that she was screaming didn’t you?”

Relowicz said: “Yes she was screaming and crying and that’s how it appeared to me. Crying and screaming quite loudly.”

Mr Wright said: “You never mentioned before she was screaming.”

He replied: “I said she was crying, yes. To me when someone is crying loudly it’s almost as if they’re crying that’s my understanding. Crying and screaming.”

Mr Wright said: “You have added in screaming for the first time to try and make your evidence fit the evidence of Ryan Thom haven’t you?

“Because you know you need to explain those desperate screams Mr Alford heard on Oak Road playing fields don’t you? You’re the one trying to fit your story into your case aren’t you?”

Relowicz denies this.

Relowicz questioned on the moment he first saw Libby

Mr Wright said: “You went into Beresford Avenue to look for a woman to masturbate at. Let’s take a look at what you were seen doing.”

The court is now being shown the CCTV of Relowicz crossing Beverley Road to Beresford Avenue.

Mr Wright said: “You could see straight away this was a drunk and upset girl. Even before you crossed the road you knew that was her condition. You had been looking for a woman to have sex with or masturbate at and from the moment you saw Libby Squire drunk and upset you had found that woman to have easy sex with.”

Relowicz said: “That’s not correct.”

Mr Wright said: “You got lucky because she was right next to your car. You crossed the road so you could watch and see before you moved in didn’t you?

“As you told police in interview you wondered if the man in the baseball cap was her boyfriend.”

Relowicz said: “I assumed he was her boyfriend.”

Mr Wright said: “You crossed the road so you could stand and watch and see if that girl was on her own.”

no sex workers this side of the city on the streets, those areas are hessle rd and anlaby rd close to the city centre. its very busy thete are a number of sex workers available to be picked up. humberside police do their best to watch out for them. pawel did not visit these areas but he would of known about them everyone does.

I don't think he was out looking for sex at all, this is only what he has said as part of his defence. I think he was looking for women to masturbate at and to rape someone. He's only brought up the sex story to provide a cover for why he ended up 'having sex' (in his words) with Libby

'You were interested in Libby Squire, weren’t you?'
Mr Wright said: “You waited in the shadows of Beresford Avenue and watched the girl you had noticed didn’t you?”

Relowicz said “That’s not correct.”

Mr Wright said: “You don’t re-emerge as she was walking up the road alone by chance do you?

“Here was the opportunity you had spent over three hours waiting for. This time, you thought you could go further didn’t you?”

Relowicz denies this.

Mr Wright said: “You said on Monday you came out of Beresford only because there were some drunk people there. You come out of Beresford Avenue but didn’t cross the road to your car. Instead you followed Libby Squire up Beverley Road.”

Relowicz said: “I went because I was curious.”

Mr Wright said: “You were interested in Libby Squire, weren’t you?”

Relowicz said: “Yes.”
