I dont know what to think though specifically regarding this. He wasnt stupid. He was familiar with technology and how things work. I'm sure he was intelligent enough to know everything was going to track back to him but he still murdered her anyways. That's the scary part. I would like to know what happened.
It seems unlikely but maybe he was dumb enough to think that by destroying her phone there wouldn’t be a way to connect him to her?

But let's say he was savvy enough to know that the park cameras were dummies, by having her dropped off in a Lyft, he's putting a witness at the scene to see the make/model of his car (which in many cases may be better than an old fuzzy camera image anyway. And many of the ride share cars I have been in have dash cams now. If this specific Lyft driver had one I'm sure the Police asked to see any footage from that night.
Those park cameras were never functioning cameras - only dummies. However, he could've been aware of that fact.

I believe one of the early reports about the fires from neighbors said that he recently had quit taking care of his yard.
IMHO fits with a psychological decline
Randomly his last Venmo purchase (b/f the legal consult) was for fertilizer. I'm assuming for his yard? So maybe he was trying to take care of the deteriorating lawn?

In most cases, you’re probably right.

This guy had to have known though. He was in IT, and murder aside, he’s not a complete dolt.

He appears to have put a great deal of thought into this, and taken certain measures to conceal his connection to her.

I continue to believe that he was behind Kenzie's phone going dead.

So I just don’t know what to make of his errors here.

Here’s the thing we are all making an assumption that he’s an IT guy- we know his resume was falsified based on MSM - he wasn’t educated in IT (no degree- attended various times at college(s)) had a bunch of cameras at his house (so do I -you can get them at Costco etc) and he worked as a support person best we can tell - I’m of the opinion he wasn’t well versed with technology and it did not occur to him that his phone would be a treasure trove of evidence - remember he only disabled her phone based on what we know - I’m thinking he just isn’t as clever smart educated and knowledgeable about the IT world he claimed to be in (resume and LinkedIn) all JMO - and plus his general arrogance he has that in common with the other men who killed their wives/girlfriends IMO

MOO the evidence he left behind does point to kidnap then an unplanned killing than complete premeditation, and is more consistent with what others have said about his volatile violence when not getting his way.
MOO it was easy to see from her corpse that he was responsible for her death. So he burned the corpse, not intending to get away with it completely but to hide how he murdered her.
I agree with you. I think considering he set up plans to meet her at a park, with a witness right there (the Lyft driver), that it was not a premeditated murder. IMO something went wrong that night and she rejected his advances or he simply took things too far. His actions after the fact, trying to cover up the evidence and burning the body, I certainly do not think were planned out. I believe he was in panic mode and truly thought that would be the best way to dispose of the evidence.

Slightly off topic. I’m just curious. Are there any verified psychologists on here who are familiar with how grief impacts risk?

It seems from news articles that several friends don’t think she would meet a stranger at 3am but I’m curious if grief would impact this at all?

I’ve experienced grief in the past that definitely affected my ability to assess risks but I don’t know if this is a thing or just something with me.

Just to be clear, with this monster, I’m convinced the time of day of the meeting was irrelevant to the outcome.

Brad, He really could have started to slip off the deep end psychologically...which would explain why he become so reckless with his behavior and actions...everything he did leading up to the murder, as well as his ridiculous attempts to get rid of evidence points to a deteriorating thinking process, in my opinion.

IMO his appearance has also declined dramatically, too.
The owner of a talent agency described him as “very good looking,” just last year:
“E.K. said Ajayi, an avid bodybuilder and wannabe model, first approached her at a networking event for models and their agents last summer. She said he wanted to sign with her agency, but there was something about him that she found off-putting.”

"On the surface, he seemed perfect," K. told Inside Edition. "He seemed very smart. Very good looking. Very well-spoken."

We do have verified psychologists but I don’t recall any are following this case ? I will try and remember the one on Kelsey’s thread and tag them when I figure it out or if someone else knows please do

Psychopaths always believe they are smarter than everyone else, and I do believe AA is one. That's why he can appear charming if it's to his advantage, and why he angers quickly if he feels someone has displeased him.

This was a hideous premeditated crime carried out by an organized murderer who thought he was going to get away with it as all murderers think. However he is no different than many others when overestimating his own smarts. Instead he's rather typical in that aspect.

AA thought no one would ever believe he would burn his victim up right in his backyard.

He thought hiding or destroying his victim in plain sight would be the best way to destroy what he had done to his victim before murdering her.

Heck we have seen far more intelligent, and highly successful murderers than AA carryout their own heinous murders also thinking they were going to get away with it too. We've seen murderers who were NASA rocket scientist doctors, lawyers etc. and they all thought they weren't going to be caught.

Of course they are never as smart as they have convinced themselves they are, and that is the reason most are caught because of the mistakes they made.

Law abiding citizens are very thankful, IMO, that hideous murderers like AA do usually wind up making mistakes resulting in them being caught.

Yeah, I think the extent of his IT knowlege was telling people how to turn their computer off and then back on again.

There had to be texts to her, from him, telling her to meet him at the park. Even if he had turned his own phone off, what was his plan for covering that up?

I'm thinking he planned and fantasized about it. Once he knew the night had finally come and ML was boarding the plane back to SLC his excitement level escalated to the point where he couldn't think straight and couldn't follow his plan.

According to a park official that was interviewed a few weeks ago...the cameras were put up at the park in non-working order only as a visual deterrent...the suspect lived across the street from the park at one time...he might have known that the cameras weren't hooked up.
IMHO, hooking up the cameras in Hatch park, and in every other public park in the city would be a great way to honor Kenzie and possibly prevent future crimes.

Exactly - he wasn't an IT guy in the terms that most people assume an IT guy to be.

@srg has posted on Kelsey's thread as a Verified Clinical Psychologist.

If she's still around, hopefully she'll pop in to give us the benefit of her expertise here, too.

Has it been established that AA was at the crime scene home in days/ weeks immediately leading up to Kenzie’s murder? And by this I mean in no way jailed or on any sort of psychiatric hold?

I know the perp from Ethiopia who terrorized me would use aliases (easy to do with being from out of country), actually getting booked into jail under many different names/birthdates etc- and he would also act up (think health/psychiatric issues) to avoid jail and therefore go to an alternative he much preferred- hospital/treatment type settings for extended periods- and get a free pass - this of course is not public info- which made me think of the lawn not being kept up recently- and if he and Kenzie did know one another (from school?, he could be charming! He’s a predator (slick and sick)and she helps everyone (sweet,trusting?)...!) He somehow conned her into meeting- that he needed help—? He played the victim- remember- he said he could play one! Kenzie came to the park at 3 am to help him... ?? Her defenses completely down , just as we saw her teary eyed clutching her heart in the airport photos..., was she listening to a sad story, pushing aside her own needs for another-? As her sorority sisters describe her...I feel so connected to this girl...

That’s how the Ethiopian tried to get to me- I lived in an affluent area- he asked for help to the local church that assisted the homeless/ hungry... evil is beyond comprehension....they flip a switch- as people describe he’s quite capable- just as their appearance can seemingly change overnight- yes, Jeckyl and Hyde they are- and they are capable of the unthinkable- unimaginable- as we are seeing- poor Kenzie- she had not a clue I do not think...

I’m probably supposed to be saying these are clearly my theories and opinions only-
