Henry Graff just tweeted that they took three bags of evidence (his word) from the apt...

Maybe they are doing another search of his property because the guys over at the forensics lab told them they needed something having to do with the evidence they already have.......... ? In other words "Go get us some more of this, go get us a sample of that ".......................

If they truly don't know where he is and want him found why haven't they released a description of the car he was in?

I'm curious to know if LE have studied store surveillance cameras at the downtown mall for the week following Hannah's disappearance. If JLM was a "regular" down there, did he avoid the area after Hannah went missing, or show up as usual?

I'm curious about his behavior. Did he show up for work as usual, coaching as usual?

JMO LE has HIS car and they know the description and plates of the car he recklessly sped in, so they know who owns the speedy car. If that is the car that JLM has "disappeared" in, they can't be too far behind him since they have been monitoring his movements for days now. I am confident that he is not lost, they just aren't about to tell us where he is. Maybe they want him to think that they have lost him......lol JMO ** and who's car is it anyway? I hope it wasn't his poor old granny's. JMO

I tend to agree here. If JLM thinks he's lost the police then maybe he will slip up and lead them exactly where they want to go.

UPDATE: police leave with three brown bags of evidence in #HannahGraham case.

Duct tape maybe?
Ah, I'm 10 pages behind but this reminds me... The tape on the doors and trunk is most likely to show chain of custody. So, put there by LE, IMO and not by the owner.

Btw, wtop news radio is reporting that JLM jr has fled. That he is in the wind...my words for got out of Dodge. This new search warrant for the apartment- probably based on new leads from forensics or eye witness' tips.

Thanks. I just knew that was a Maryland accent! I'm doing some digging about Longo:

In April of 1993, he assumed command of the department's Special Investigation Section within the Internal Investigation Division. Chief Longo is a graduate of Towson University in Baltimore where he served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of the University of Baltimore, School of Law, and holds a Juris Doctorate from that institution. He is a member of the Maryland Bar.

Chief Longo lectures across America in the field of Ethics, Professional Standards and Internal Affairs. He has instructed officers, supervisors and command persons from every major law enforcement and criminal justice agency in Maryland.
https://www.dcjs.virginia.gov/accred/boardProfiles/longo.cfm

Chief Longo is a 25-year veteran of law enforcement and is nationally-recognized in the area of police ethics and professional standards. He holds a law degree from the University of Baltimore and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1993. From 1981-2000, Longo served on the Baltimore police force, where he commanded several divisions and retired as Colonel in charge of Technical Services. Since 2001 he has served as Chief of Police for the City of Charlottesville, Virginia.

During his tenure on the Baltimore force, Longo worked in a variety of operational positions, led investigations of criminal wrongdoing within the department’s ranks, commanded the department’s Southeastern District, served as chief of staff to the police commissioner, and led the Communications Division to implement the nation’s first three digit non-emergency number, 311, for which the division received the prestigious Weber Seavey Award for innovative law enforcement.

In Charlottesville, Longo has guided the police department through a transition from a traditional reactive force to a proactive problem-solving model. Under his leadership, the department has instituted a comprehensive strategic plan community policing throughout the organization, and has undertaken major initiatives to improve police effectiveness, transparency and accountability. Those include a sophisticated crime analysis software system, a monthly Compstat process, an intensive 8-week Citizens Police Academy, a community-wide gun violence project, a strict internal quality assurance process, advanced leadership training opportunities, and community partnerships for targeted problem-solving projects.

In the decade Timothy J. Longo has led the Charlottesville Police Department, overall crime and violent crime have dropped sharply in the city.
While happy with the numbers, Chief Longo is quick to point out that the improvement reflects a nationwide trend. When asked to point to accomplishments, he instead emphasizes his department’s work in community engagement.

“We can’t keep this community safe by ourselves,” Longo said. “We can’t deal with crime or quality of life issues … ourselves. We have to be able to reach out to citizens who live here and confront those problems in a collaborative way.”
One of the key groups Longo has needed to reach is the black community.
“Chief Longo has done a reasonable job,” said Charlottesville School Board Chairwoman Leah Puryear.
She said he has worked to reach out to the black community and has been honest about his thoughts on issues of concern.
M. Rick Turner, president of the local NAACP, described Longo as honest and forthright.

Several high-profile cases have marked Longo’s decade in charge.
Among them: the lengthy search for a serial rapist operating in the area and the killing of University of Virginia lacrosse player Yeardley Love.
The serial rapist case brought Longo some of the most strident criticism he has faced in his time in Charlottesville. As police hunted for the man responsible for a string of rapes in the area, city police were accused of profiling and harassment for asking black men to submit mouth swabs for DNA testing.
At the time, police were asking black men for samples if they were reported to resemble a composite sketch of the rapist.
In April 2004, there was an uproar over the policy. Turner, then dean of UVa’s Office of African-American Affairs, called the practice “tantamount to tactics used in slavery,” during a heated public forum.
Less than a week after the forum, Longo rescinded the policy and held a closed-door meeting with black community leaders.
Turner was sold on the change. By July of that year, he had this to say: “I think Tim Longo has gained an amazing amount of trust in the community. He could run for mayor now.”
Longo is glad that police eventually caught the rapist in August 2007, but stops short of calling it a success.

(Super long article which includes criticisms and praise and a ton of information about this chief. It may shed some light on how he operates. I will say that he seems very self-effacing).

On the map, it looks pretty close to Wertland Street, where she said she was lost.

Yeah, you're right. So...LE first said they thought the location was a mistake but if she was in a car, the time could be right. I don't see though how they could have gone to Tempos, had "drinks", got in his car and the "lost" in that area in 12 minutes. Besides the time, the location makes sense though.

I've been wondering the same! Just another mystery to add to the rest of the pile.

ETA: nope Bessie cleared it up.

It is a really interesting wrench in the case if you ask me. If the case goes to court on circumstantial evidence, and this "Frank" guy exists separate from JM, and SO MANY people were saying it was him...it creates some reasonable doubt.

Maybe they are doing another search of his property because the guys over at the forensics lab told them they needed something having to do with the evidence they already have.......... ? In other words "Go get us some more of this, go get us a sample of that ".......................
Good thought!

They didn't stay long at Tempo. I don't think it was a destination she or he had long been interested in. I think they (POI) just wanted to sit down for a short time.

Maybe POI thought he could hear her better at Tempo? Maybe there is no cover charge at Tempo and there is one at the other place? Maybe he knows a worker (bartender) at Tempo and knew he could get away buying alcohol for HG there? That they stayed there such a short time shows the place wasn't very important.

Just speculation: He wanted to hear her story, so they went to a less noisy place. She made it clear during the short time there she was trying to get to a party. He perhaps offered her a ride.

- 1:06 a.m. Graham is captured on surveillance video at Sal's Pizza on East Main Street. A white man walks into the camera's view, looks over his shoulder then steps into a doorway. Graham walks past him and then he starts walking behind her. He later came to police and told them he was following Graham because she seemed distressed and he wanted to make sure she was safe.

- BG walked westbound along mall and then "u-turned" and headed east behind HG, eventually catching up to her and placing his arm around her. (Confirmed by CPD).

If her phone pinpointed her location, police have not released the information, and police did not clarify whether the text was sent before or after leaving the bar. Police have stated that they do not believe she sent the text from 14th and Wertland. sources cite conflicting information - needs to be verified

Sept. 19
- Police receive a warrant to search a car and condo about 3 miles northwest from where Graham was last seen.
164 Hessian Hills Way, Charlottesville

Police spoke to him this morning when they executed a search warrant and seized his car, but did not feel that they had enough probable cause to arrest him, Longo said.

"We know that he purchased alcohol (in the restaurant) and we know that Hannah Graham was with him. We also know that within 15 minutes he was gone from that bar and Hannah Graham was with him," Longo said.
"People saw Hannah and people saw him, and people saw them together. And it's entirely possible, we believe, that Hannah Graham may have gotten into his vehicle," the chief said.

Longo asked for anyone to call police if they saw Graham get into the man's 1998 burnt orange Chrysler coupe.
The first warrant was a search and seizure warrant for a vehicle which was executed shortly after midnight. When police arrived at the apartment building and seized the car, a person connected to the car was in his apartment with two others. Police identified those individuals, but the officer did not feel he had the grounds to detain the individuals, Longo said.

After seizing the car and taking it to an undisclosed location for the full search, investigators developed probable cause and sought approvals for the two other warrants. Police arrived back at the apartment shortly after 10 a.m. and the three individuals were no longer inside, Longo said.

- Jesse Matthew arrived at Charlottesville PD – requested a lawyer – LE found him a lawyer with whom he spoke to briefly – he left without speaking with LE – no new information was provided – he was later observed speeding and driving recklessly – LE had to abandon pursuit due to high speeds citing public safety concerns.

Sept. 21
- Chief Longo holds a press conference

- During a Sunday press conference, police chief Tim Longo said the department has issued arrest warrants for Jesse Matthew for reckless driving. According to Newsday, the warrants were issued Saturday after he left the Charlottesville Police Department station. Longo said investigators were "overtly" trailing Matthew on Saturday and tracked him to a home in Albermarle County. Longo said Matthew then drove away from the home at a high rate of speed.

Also if somebody could find the Shell footage that is longer and shows her running back and forth, and think that is important and should be referenced here. She doesnt just walk by ...she runs back and forth, and for some reason it was edited by somebody, Just like the mcgradys clip, it got edited, and it made it look like she stumbled off and hopped right back up, when in fact she was off the screen for much longer.

This is another neat map.

I dont entirely agree with the walking path, but the embedded media at each one of the spots, helps put some of it perspective. I dont know who did it, but they put a lot of effort into it. It is helpful.

He didn't run off...he left the station after talking to the lawyer. The lawyer probably advised him not to talk. Speculation is that he could not afford the lawyer, therefore the lawyer could not sit in on his talk with LE.

Who said he could not afford a lawyer?
and I read NOthing about lawyer not being able to sit in on the talk?
He should have one on speed dial!
