I'm increasingly convinced that either there ARE no functional security cameras at the arena, or they were never turned on.

And it wouldn't surprise me a bit if she was tossed out of the concert by security (either for being drunk/high, being in an unauthorized area, etc.) and it's being covered by by LE to prevent a lawsuit.

I've thought that last part you stated too...

Thank you for saying this....although I suspect not many others will comment favorably.

I posted my (radical) thoughts about this days ago. Goody-girls who have a secretly brewing rebellion going on internally.....sometimes, these are the girls who make the worst mistakes. And the parents are then BAFFLED. Not MY Daughter, my daughter's a "good girl". Yeah, that's what you THINK. But sometimes, repression of oneself leads to REBELLION. I ought to know. I was rasied that way too.....
I see your point and I'll add that those individuals tend to be (not always, but "tend to be") the sheltered ones who are LEAST capable of making the best decisions in some iffy situations.

Do you think they were that bad off someone had to be half way lucid to even drive the car there?
DID they drive the car - whatever the hell car- back to JMU or was there a party or an apt in which to crash etc at C'ville? I know nada - just throwin it out there. Iow, did they drive back to JMU that night or the next morning? Or could they say one thing and have done another?

Thanks! I remember now that her nickname is Dee.

One more question: I know the State Police have said that Morgan's car was not used to get from JMU to Charlottesville. But -- have the State Police said whose car the group did drive in to get to the concert?

TIA.
yes this.

Okay
http://charlottesville.craigslist.org/tix/1425879066.html

I was just informed this about her tickets:

"The exact seat of Morgan is at 312- a1 - 22"

please review the craigslist ad and tell me what you think. I am emailing it to the police now...

Hello all! Been lurking for a good while, came here looking to find more information about MH missing. I have been thinking about how even if this is someone else selling this tickets, it would be good to have LE see who they sold the tickets too and question the buyer since they would have been sitting in the same section with MH and friends.

The lack of info is very depressing :( Went driving in the mountains with my husband today and kept looking in the woods for something suspicious (I live very close to JMU, the school she came to first).

Virginia police DID state Morgan's car was driven to C'Ville. Her father keeps insisting it wasn't her car.

http://www.readthehook.com/stories/2009/10/29/cover-findMorgan-E.aspx

"Morgan and Melvin, who share an off-campus apartment in Blacksburg, drove to Harrisonburg, where they picked up Snead and, according to her father, the boyfriend of a friend. According to State Police spokesperson Corinne Geller, the four rode from Harrisonburg to Charlottesville in Morgan's car. Morgan, Geller says, allowed a friend to drive, so she didn't have her car keys with her during the show"

In the comments section of the same article:

"@J Hey, this is the Hook editor here. Morgan's dad originally told us that Morgan's car and keys stayed in Harrisonburg. In preparing this cover story, State Police spokesperson Corinne Geller-- asserting a change in info-- told us the contrary scenario we put in this story above. So we spoke again this morning to Dr. Harrington, and he stands by his statement: that Morgan's car was never in Charlottesville. Messages left this morning with Ms. Geller have not been immediately returned, but we'll update as soon as she clarifies...."

But mom Gil said that Morgan was at THEIR house (35 mins drive from Amy & Morgan's apt in Blacksburg) picking out the outfit with mom. Did Morgan the go BACK to Blacksburg to get Amy, the roomy ? Did Amy go to the Harrington's home with Morgan? If so, Gil didn't mention that did she?

So according to the snippet from the article - MH did not have her keys

I know it's only pure speculation on my part...but that leads me to believe that MH did not intend to leave the area - why would she leave her keys and her car with someone else.

Actually - it would make a lot of sense if she knew she was meeting someone there and had no intention of returning with her friends - whether or not her friends knew her true intentions.

Well it would...but why would she do that. I could see it if the vehicle belonged to someone else...but to leave your own vehicle???

At that age you couldn't have paid me to leave my vehicle with someone else...I don't care how close a friend they are...and I'm still the same way...

Hi guys...

a few more of my rants..ah thoughts...

1st of all the parents and the police must be satisfied that the last sighting of Morgan was indeed at the bridge as the parents have now visited it and put up missing posters.........if they really do beleive this sighting it sought of changes my whole perspective of things.

It would mean that all of us who think that it makes sense to get your keys and sit in your car and not wander off or she met someone she knew, or in fact wasnt there would be incorrect and she was indeed by herself, couldnt get in, didnt think to go into her car and did wander off into the dark by herself to get home!!! very, very, silly........and if this is the case the chances of foul play are really really high.......ie abducted or maybe accidentally hit by a car and perp panicked and have buried her far away....

To me the whole case comes down to how credible it is that she was there alone on that bridge trying to get somewhere....

Did she have keys to her own car? Or give to her friends to drive? Designated driver?
Did she often let her friends drive her car and leave her behind w/o a ride?
This is still really odd.

re my above post...

I still cant fathom not wanting to get the keys to YOUR OWN car and instead having to wander off into the night and let your friends go home in the comfort of your car...nah .....even if I had a fight with them and was blind rotten drunk etc (which yes I have known to be back in the good old 80s)....I would be screaming down the phone to get my freaking keys to me so I could go to sleep in the back seat.......not wander off into the scary, dark unknown......

another thing about the paper lady or whoever who saw her with the 3 guys....

I have now noticed that you have ascertain that the girl on the video was a dee.....I never thought this was MOrgan as she had tights on and knee high boots...the girl on the video had ankle boys on and no tights......one thing about what the paper lady said if anyone can find it, is that you couldnt miss the knee high boots.......

someone needs to see if this dee can confirm she was where the paper lady saw the 4 people....

though once again even this is irrelevant if the police and parents are convinced the sighting of her was on the bridge but then again maybe not if she got into a car and went with the 3 guys.......

Reading and trying to catch up. Still nothing from LE. Somebody a couple of pages back made reference to Aruba. Natalie Holloway. If memory serves me didn't we get tons of information each day on where they were searching and who was brought in. I remember Beth Holloway was relentless in her search for her daughter.

We here have nothing to go on. Who is that spokesman for LE that we have seen on camera just two times?

The way they are handling things..it just isn't working out. Two weeks and still nothing.

I was thinking the friends must be bursting to tell their side of what happened..but I am sure they can't. Is there anyway that the administrator could allow somebody with real information to post just what happened that night..if they so chose to do so? And they could remain ananomous? That would at least steer people in the right direction. Personally I think those friends must be taking a big hit right now and I feel kind of sorry for them not able to speak and clear the air. Their names have been put out there but not their story.

I know, right? That's the dang kicker, isn't it? (or rather one of them)

We are not told if that is customary routine for her or totally out of the norm; THAT'S JUST IT. They dont say.

About the keys, I understood it to be that she didn't have the keys.... to whoever's car it was.

I agree revampz; that has been my contention all along. No one would leave their car in a parking lot to wander off alone in the cold to find a ride home. Why would she need to do that? She owned a car, it was in working order, and it was right there in the lot near the arena!!

All MH needed was to regain possession of her keys, which were with one of her friends. She wouldn't have to ask a stranger for a ride. She wouldn't have to call a Charlottesville friend/acquaintance for a ride. She wouldn't need to call her parents. All she needed were her keys.

IMO she would either have asked one of her friends at the concert to bring the keys to her at one of the entrance/exit doors, or her friend would have said, "Hold on, I've got your keys, I'll bring them to you." That's logic, plain and simple. No other explanation holds water as far as I'm concerned.

That's why I get so frustrated with this story ... and it IS a story. A made-up one. I'm convinced of that.

I really can't wrap my head around this case. I know when I was in high school, some kids would give their car keys to their friends so the friends could relax and hang out in the car. But in this case, I just can't imagine someone leaving a metallica concert and their friends staying.

I wonder if she was drinking something and maybe someone slipped her something. So she starts feeling sick and decides to walk out. I can't imagine her friends not following. I'm just thinking out loud. My head is spinning now.:twocents:

Sure would be nice if one of MH's friends or someone in the know would get on here and tell us why MH would do this - that is leave her car for them to drive.

If she was in no shape to drive and the friends thought she shouldn't have the keys - why not just give her the clicker thingy...or why not have a security guard or arena employee escort her to the car and bring the keys back to the friends?

What would compel MH to leave a concert she had been looking forward to for 6 months and what would compel her to leave her car behind?

And she wasn't clueless about the world and safety. A clueless person doesn't call her dad (at 2 PM was it?) to say they safely made it to JMU She called her dad from JMU (the first leg of the trip) to say that she arrived there safely.

AS for driving time, it's not that far to C'ville/the arena is it? from JMU, I mean. Did they dally around at JMU? visiting? what? who? (Or is it that Im off about the 2 PM dad call time?)

(Sidenote: She did not call him from C'ville to say she/they made it to C'ville (the second leg of the trip, fwiw.) (Or at least not that we've been told)

I know everyone is different; I get that. But imo if I were going to call someone to say I made it safely to XYZ place and there were two legs of a trip to be traversed, AND if I were going to call only once after one leg of the trip, it'd be at the end... at the final destination - not the halfway mark for cryin out loud. Why call when you're halfway there and then NOT call when you arrived at where you ultimately wanted to be? I can see how it makes sense to call from BOTH spots. But that's not what happened that we know of. Calling at the halfway point and not from the final destination is just odd to me.

Just me? Alrighty then. :)

Does anyone know from where Amy began the trip? Im asking b/c I wondered if Morgan went to her parents' home then BACK to Blacksburg/her apt for Amy. (Or was amy at JMU? with the sister, amanda? ) And did Amanda go to the concert as the 5th person? or maybe Im out to lunch and making the whole thing up. IDK

Kant you have me thinking. Which I have been doing since all this happened two weeks ago. Here's a new thought.

What if the dad and Le are right about the car. What if the friends took their car and went to the concert and Morgan stayed behind with her car?

What if the friends boyfriend bought Morgans ticket? That would explain that one male without his girlfriend going with the group.
