Yes, what else would of she said? I guess maybe she could of told him her car broke down? Still she would need cell phone access, and the whole point was to have her cell phone off in AZ.

I guess she could of made up a lie about seeing a "friend" on the way. And Ryan did know about Travis.

Imo Jodi's reasoning for her lies don't make sense.

Geffner, aside from providing comic relief by fashioning himself into a human dunk tank, was there to rebut Dr. Horn. Admittedly there was some confusion w/ regard to Dt. Flores and the ME (which wasn't anything sinister imo) and the DT wanted to take a final bite of that particular apple.

I don't believe that the DT really needed Geffner to throw Dr. De Marte under the bus, although JW was happy to do so, considering the acrimonious feelings she demonstrated during cross. Geffner was there to speak to anyone who 1) was unclear about the sequence of events and 2) thought that if the shot came first, TA could have, with a 25 caliber slug in his head, continued to pose a threat to the defendant.

Of course this went out the window after the jurors are treated to his belching, spilling, equivocating and glad-handing with ALV.

So like another murder defendant who showed LE the office at her work....which didn't exist. Lies easily exposed and lying for the sake of lying.

I just posted this in another thread, I hope it is ok to post it here as well. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the possibilities of this being what happened.

Finally something clicked in this case that has bothered me for a long time, and that's the sex tape. Here's my thoughts

Travis had a character he would play at the conventions, but for the life of me I can not remember the name. A while back one of his friends who helped Travis develop this character said they wanted the polar opposite of Travis, someone loud, boisterous, obnoxious etc, someone totally out of character for Travis.

So here's what I think may have happened. Travis and JA are on the phone talking and this charactor of Travis' came up in conversation. Ja may have said something like "I wonder what it would sound like if XX called me for phone sex" or something like that. The two probably had a laugh over it and Travis got into character and started a sexual phone fantasy with JA for laughs. JA hits the record button.....

This tape sounds like everything Travis was not, in fact, it sounds like what his role playing character would say. I am not saying JA and Travis never wrinkled the sheets together, but this obnoxious redneck character would probably say some of the things we heard on these recordings. Thoughts?

lol So this is probably the stuff she is sitting in court writing all day.



We shall find out who the weak person is very soon.

I think Juan Martinez made a great point and good instruction at the end today - He said something like "You cannot ignore the circumstantial evidence of PREMEDITATION". I hope and pray these jurors think like the jurors from a case in Cali many years ago.....
 
Jodi did not tell Ryan she was going to be late or another excuse, because she not 100% certain she would follow through her plan to kill Travis yet.

I would imagine Jodi thought alot of her 1000 + mile journey, all the while having a .25 caliber gun with her.

That's what my point is. If she didn't premeditate it, why didn't she lie to Ryan on that last phone call that she was doing something else so she could really go see Travis? This is the question Nurmi asked, except he said, if she were premeditating, then why didn't she call Ryan to make up a lie to help her be late.

I am asking Nurmi the same question. It's a problem for both sides of the case--except the state's at least got on its side that she could have thought she could arrive and kill travis quickly, but Zach being there threw her off.

That same question asked to the defense team--if it wasn't premeditated, then why didn't she call Ryan with a lie to give her more time to visit Travis--how can the defense answer it?

Removing premeditation removes the need to get lost before the murder. Removing premeditation removes the need to have the phone off.
Removing premeditation removes the need to lose the charger.
Removing premeditation ADDS the opportunity to find the charger which is under the seat and charge the phone to call Ryan from AZ with an excuse.
Removing premeditation removes the need for her cell phone to NOT be recorded in AZ prior to the murder.

Is that making sense?

So again, I hope the jury thinks about Nurmi's question and turns it around on him. If Jodi wasn't up to no good, if Jodi was honestly changing her plans to visit Travis, then why couldn't she lie to Ryan to cover for the trip to see Travis? Why couldn't see say she'd be taking pictures etc, so she'd be later? Why couldn't see have charged her phone and called him so he'd have some idea that she was alive?

Again, if she's not premeditating, then her phone can ping in AZ and it's not that hard to find that charger. She can find it and the knife in a fog. So out of the fog, it's even easier.

Therefore, she could have called Ryan and gave him a BS excuse of why she's late and not leave him wondering for 24 hours.

I hope that makes sense because I don't know how else to say it.

I hope the P12 were watching this trial and especially the juror questions in case they are ever selected for jury duty again.
