They always magically have fund$$$$ Galore when it comes payouts $$$$93 Million in the Braden, and Charlie Powell Case, 6 Million in the Shayne Abegg Case. Oh and $$$$$ funds for lawyers for DNA Donors. SMH.
Those are often different state funds. In most states there are budget items built in for lawsuits and settlements.
I can't see how a system so overburdened as to only be checking up on at risk kids every six months or so can possibly be well funded. Never mind that some foster homes can be worse than the situation the child was removed from and can go unchecked for years.
That doesn't sound like a well funded system to me. I agree that the judges tend to be the biggest wild card and even then can only do what the state laws allow them to do.
