Just because some of us vent because of an unjust verdict, or we are angry and on pins and needles, because the Kathleen's murder wasn't investigated properly, and we think DP may get away with 2 murders, doesn't mean we practice this in "real life". I volunteer in many ways, donate and help in my "real life". I vent here because I can, within the TOS. I follow cases here, because we aren't allowed to attack one another, or tell each other how to post, or "feel" when posting. In no way, does that or should it, take away from the good I do, or others may, or may not do. We are entitled to express our opinions here, as long as it's within the TOS at Websleuths. Unless I have missed something, I don't believe the rules of the forum have changed.

I hope an pray for justice for Kathleen! I hope and pray that someday, STACY Peterson's body, will be found and she can return home to her family!

I will be angry and disappointed if DP is found Not-Guilty. In no way, does that diminish the person I am, and the things that I do, to help others. One can do both, at the same time.

JMO. :twocents:

Have they reached a verdict yet? :truce:

I had that same question! I am so glad someone else asked it. I wasn't sure if it was answered somewhere here or ???

Has anyone from his bio family spoken up or said a word since his arrest?

His mother is alive but suffers with Alzheimers.

No, I have not seen anything in the media from or about his bio family, other than his sons by Kathleen, who support him in this case.

and his wife Lisa doesn't make me feel good.

I know that it is Drew and not his lawyers that he is against, but he has spoken out against the DT antics in the courtroom.
This makes me think that it was a planned publicity stunt for his restaurant and casino. :couch: (not saying that is the case, but it sure doesn't make me feel good):moo:
I have been loving on Jeff Ruby--enjoyed his interviews, respected his commitment to justice and still like his ads against Drew, but this photo turns me off.

No one is saying it's not okay to vent and share feelings. (please direct me to where I have said such a thing). What I am talking about is the lack of control in cases and their outcome and how frustrating that is (see, feelings!). The feeling of "what can I do?" is one that many of us struggle with. Perhaps you don't, and that's okay too. My post is to remind people that there are ways to have more control--if not in the outcome of a criminal case, at least through other means. It's one way, it's not the only way, and there is no inherent assumption that people are not doing good works in their lives already. It's just a reminder of one option. Why anyone would take this personally is confusing to me as it is not directed toward any one person, but is an observation of something that occurs in cases from time to time and this is one of those cases.

According to what Jeff Ruby said on the latest episode of Tricia's True Crime Radio show last Sunday, Steve Greenberg (defense attorney) allegedly went over to the State's attorney Glasgow and congratulated him on "winning the case." This was right after Harry Smith testified about how Stacey told him that Drew Peterson killed his wife, Kathleen. If true, that tells us how at least one of the attorneys is feeling about their case at this point and that was the moment he (Greenberg) felt the state won the case.

Jeff Ruby also said he was planning to be in Jolliet to take the prosecution team, KS's family and (not sure who else) out for a celebratory dinner because he is expecting a guilty verdict. He also arranged a couple hotel rooms for Savio family members (at his expense) so they could be there.

He may well be doing this to garner publicity for his various restaurants, but his heart's in the right place.

I was loving on him too. My respect for him has gone downhill after looking at this photo. Unless he has an explanation for this photo-op, I think he may have duped us. :banghead:

I don't see Jeff Ruby yuking it up with the DT at that link?

There is a picture of him with part of the defense team. It could be misunderstood, in so many ways. Hopefully, it's just the angle of the photo.

It is only since televised trials that we have all come together to vent our frustrations against offenders that seem to have the benefit of the court system on their side. It is frustrating for us to see offenders time after time disparage the murdered victims in their attempts to not be held accountable for their crimes. We need to keep in mind the wrongfully convicted throughtout all of this. Just because someone is accused and brought to trial, doesn't always mean they are guilty. Please temper your outrage with this in mind.

JMO, I really think he did it. :seeya:

One snapshot does not a fallen hero make. Jeff Ruby is not even looking at Lopez in the pics taken. They appear to be laughing at something someone else said (1 of 2 women standing there also).

Pictures don't tell the story; Ruby's actions tell the story. He has put up $100K of his own money for information leading to the discovery of Stacey's body. He has put up his own money to secure hotel rooms for Savio's family/sisters. He has taken ads out in area newspapers to publicly chastise the defense team, the judge, and what he feels are miscarriages of justice. He is going to treat the entire state's team and Savio family to a celebration if a guilty verdict comes in. This guy is putting his money where his mouth is. I give him that credit.

If one or 2 pictures where he's in the same shot as a defense attorney can undo all of that then the media really does have the power of manipulation.

Well he did murder her, but I believe the "sleeping in jeans with the girls in the locked room" bit was an exaggeration. Either way, on the night in question, the girls were sleeping in their own bedroom, she was tipsy from a party across the street, and he laid in wait for her to come home, in the meantime setting up his network router and phone call forwarding alibi scheme for the next morning. She wasn't afraid of him because she thought she could 'handle' him or 'take him on.' He was passive/aggressive, secretly plotting her demise, not loud and boastful like Drew Peterson. Nancy didn't want him to get her car keys. Kathleen openly feared for her life. Nancy did not fear for her life and seemed to have no idea what he was really capable of or had in store for her.

Hi, Maddie - An amazing little O/T here:

On Dateline Wednesday night, at midnight, cable channel OWN, they did a re-broadcast of their show about the Cooper case (!!!). It was almost spooky since you and I had discussed it so recently. They had the woman that testified just what I had said about the jeans/keys/locked bedroom door, etc. Her manner & testimony seemed almost professional, she was probably a few years older than Nancy, and I went nuts trying to remember her name. Do you happen to recall who gave that testimony? Her therapist/doctor/counselor (pick one, I can't recall), perhaps??

If so, please let me know -- I just would like to stop trying to think of her name, in the midst of this Savio trial!

Thanks!

Fortunately I'm not one to let my feelings go unchecked nor do I automatically think someone is guilty because they've been arrested. I actually examine cases and look at evidence and make my determination from looking at facts and taking away my emotions. I've been accused of having no emotions or feelings because I put more of my focus on facts and logic and trying to understand the legal side of cases. So, thank you, Ohio, but not to worry. You won't see me picketing or hurling the f-bomb at a defendant or their family nor thinking every person facing a conviction needs to be locked up and the key thrown away. I'm a believer in and supporter of the constitution and truly want justice (not revenge and vengeance).

Yes, that was Dr. Teresa Hackling. She was an emergency/trauma physician at Wake Med (is now a stay at home mom) and was a running friend of Nancy Cooper. She also testified about what it's like to put on a sports bra, how it's tight, and how it rolls under when it's put on.

Sometimes, we have to be very careful of the ones who inject themselves into a case. It could be out of the goodness of ones heart, or they could have other self-serving motives. This is a high profile case, has been since day one, where was Ruby when Stacy first went missing? I'm not saying it's self-serving, but he does own quite a few businesses. Just food for thought. Hopefully, someone will cash in on the reward he offered, in regards to Stacy Peterson. It's not a lot of $, if you know it won't ever have to be paid out.

I believe, it's just the angle of the photo and the media wasn't trying to manipulate anyone. Just a photo of Ruby laughing with, or at, the defense team.

#DrewPeterson jurors ordered to return to court at 9 a.m. CDT. Judge: call cops if anyone tries to talk about case.

what a laugh..........call the cops................
Thanks Passionflower. I missed all of today's coverage but will be on it with a hot cup of Joe at 9am tomoz. ;}

How can an alternate possibly deliberate if they have not been in the jury room on all the discussions????? If they have to replace someone I mean.

They will have to start over if they have to replace someone, which is not always a bad thing.

Just arrived in Rome. No verdict I see. I fretted all the way across the Atlantic.
