Thanks to whoever posted that Burning Bed defense article, very interesting! Sorry, can't remember the poster now.

Recently the documentary "Every *advertiser censored**ing Day of My Life" was on HBO. A woman who killed her abusive husband and turned herself in.

These are examples of self-defense homocide, IMO.

This is why what ALV is doing to try to help someone who was never in danger and not abused infuriates us.

I hate to feel this vindictive, but I really do hope this hurts her career. She is not professional and not credible, IMO, and her standing as an advocate is severely jeopardized by making unsupportable claims without complete information.

I've never seen Sue Stodola in that courtroom.

KCL says that Maria is the one we see at the table, and who sometimes talks with Willmott and Arias.

But one would think that if she is a Mitigation Specialist and ALV may be called as an 'expert' Mitigation Witness in a potential penalty phase, that they may work together at some point if they're not already.

You'd think that the entire Defense Team would work together to some extent, securing the preparation and cooperation of their witnesses as appropriate.

Whom do you think is really running Team Jodi: Jennifer, Kirk, or the defendant herself?

Just want to say I found it amusing in a horrified kind of way when JW had ALv on the stand. LOLing at the absurdity of it. What was the point of having her testify if all she did was read excepts from a journal and turn to JW for the answer.

JW would ask, would you describe this as "escalation" and ALv would say "yes, I would call it escalation."

Then JW would ask "is this part of the continuum that you described to us" and ALv would answer "yes, that's exactly it."

Did my ears deceive or did ALv also say at one point that "in this case it takes ONE to tango." Meaning that Travis was abusive all on his own and Jodi did not contribute to the dynamics at all. So was he talking to himself?!

Oh-em-gee! Someone should tell this "expert" that it does take TWO to tango, otherwise its just that hippie chick at the festival (you know the one) who dances oto every song all by herself.

I have read this blog several times and am very familiar with it. On the one hand, the author has many insightful, interesting things to say. On the other hand, he says some of the nastiest, hateful, misogynist and racist things, too.

No I didn't know. hahaha I was looking up ALV and the diary entry caught my eye and thought it would be a good read and it was but I didn't go any further.
I guess I should have just copy and pasted it without giving him any credit.

I totally agree. I hadn't really thought about it all that much, but since reading some of the entries I've found online after the release of the 600 pages, I'm completely convinced that's exactly what she did. She already has what's been called hypergraphia, so it would be an easy task for her to completely make up a new journal in a relatively short period of time. She would have the original journal at her side to re-create actual events with specific dates, but adding a bunch of new entries to cover her story. However, the only quibble I have is that IF she re-wrote it, why not incorporate the phony battering stories. Maybe I'm missing something obvious here...

Jodi claims Travis gave her his passwords/PIN numbers to several sites. What does "she hacked into" whatever mean? i.e. Does this take some smarts or specialized knowledge within her reach? I certainly couldn't hack into anything.

I believe she "soft-hacked", when you know a person's pets name, last four of SSN, etc., private information (she was a snooper) and she could have easily answered any of his password recovery questions. It doesn't take smarts, just snooping.

I just wish we knew the truth but when the victim is dead the real truth will never be known.

I have read a lot of the texts and emails but the one where Travis was so angry and upset is different. Something very serious happened for Travis to be that upset with her.

That was one of the things that made me so livid yesterday when ALV took it on her own to be a crystal ball reader and said it proved he was an abuser. If she wasn't filled with so much bias she would have gotten to the bottom of it WHY he became so upset with Arias but she seems to dismiss everything that may put her in a bad light.

I don't think he knew she was coming there that day. I think she snuck in. She had his garage key pad code.

Also I've been thinking. lol If Travis was so sexually attracted to her then why didn't they have sex right away? I'm sure a lot of us have had times we have had to be away from our partner and missed them sexually as well and cant wait to have sex with each other. After all she had moved in April and he hadn't seen her since she moved. But according to Arias they go to sleep and sleep until after 1? What couple does that when sex is suppose to be everything in this relationship? What young couple waits 7-8 hours to have sex when nothing is stopping them from having it when she walked in the door around 3-4 in the morning? Something just isn't right.

And to me Juan really cant prove that Travis even had sex that day. I listened closely to his OS awhile ago and the two photos of Travis laying on the bed are the only two of Travis other than the shower pics and crime pics and we know he is not aroused in those photos.

JM makes a statement that in at least one of the photos -- obviously not the one we've seen -- TA IS obviously excited.

I don't need to see that pic. I'll take his word for it.

I think almost everything in her journal was about Travis, which to me shows just how obsessed she was with him. It's obvious her entire world revolved around him. She was totally an obsessed stalker, IMO.

OK so, Miss ALV was initially a neutral witness, not for Prosecution, not for Defense, correct?..IIRC it was only at some point along the line, over the course of all pre-trial hearings that she arrived at becoming an actual testifying expert for the Defense..is this correct?..would someone clarify for me if the above is accurate, if not what exactly were the circumstances that transpired in her becoming a testifying, expert witness for the Defense?..TIA

Reason being is that I want to make sure that I am understanding correctly just how it is that Miss ALV came to be a Defense expert witness.

She was originally brought on board as the mitigation specialist for the defense because it is a death penalty case. In the event of a guilty verdict, the mitigation specialist testifies in the penalty phase.

At some point, the DT changed her role.

Miss LaViolette, this woman, this PHD, that has experience spanning decades including being up close and involved in the infamous Francine Hughes case.. this woman is someone you would be doing yourself a world of good to take a que from, learn from, and heed the imperative warnings of which she speaks..

Most crimes of domestic abuse and stalking are perpetrated by men, but just because the majority of victims are women, to deny that women can be controlling and abusive and stalk and kill the men they covet, is a travesty to what the last thirty-five years have taught us about the dynamics of abuse. To suggest that Jodi Arias was a victim of an abusive boyfriend flies in the face of everything we have learned about power, control and obsession in intimate partner and stalking crimes. Far worse, to remain blind to the evidence of stalking and premeditated homicide because of the genders of the perpetrators and/or victims, is to send us back 35 years to the years before the case of Francine Hughes and The Burning Bed brought the realities of domestic abuse out of the closet, and gave victims some help and hope, however limited it remains.

Travis Alexander may not have respected Jodi Arias outside the bedroom, and she may well have wanted more from their relationship than he was willing to offer her. Usually, when you enter a wrong password when trying to log into an account, there is a 'forgot password' option you are given. When Clicking that option, you are asked a secret question to which Travis would have answered when he set up his account. For example - What is your mother's maiden name? All Jodi would need to know is the answer. If it was a question she didn't know, being the manipulative, sneaky thing that she is, she could easily bring up a conversation with Travis that would give her that answer.
