Not changing my opinion. If he is/was cooperating, why not agree to DNA or lie detector test? Why does his attorney keep alluding to possible OJ charges against his client? Why did Lee present e-mails to LE with fake names of Casey's (imaginary) work colleagues? Why his confusing performance at the public memorial (complete with wearing no Caylee button, only a Casey button?) Too many unanswered questions.

I voted I Don't Know. I think Lee is somewhat of a chameleon (like KC) and tends to be like whomever he's with. He seemed to be so helpful to LE in the beginning, then he seemed to close ranks with the family....I also believe he, like the other Anthonys, is heavily influenced and manipulated to a degree by Cindy. I still think the whole CMA thing at the memorial was weird. What an odd forum to refer to a murdered child by initials (that's why I think I was likely talking to KC). At any rate, if he is truly feeling cooperative and on a quest for the truth, that has yet to be seen. Maybe he was in doubt as to what exactly had happened to Caylee when he talked to Annie Downing. He may have thought KC had left Caylee with someone and not been checking on her. Remember, this was early July when Lee said this to Annie. He was not likely thinking his sister had committed murder at that point.

I don't know what the code type words "He knows what he has done" or what the attorney meant either, but I never got caught up in the rumors of Lee being Caylee's father or really believed the story that Jesse was told by Casey. That sort of rumor can totally destroy someone's life. I felt before and still do that Lee has practically been destroyed and disabled by all this, but think he is still supporting Casey. If he did anything else, even unknowingly, that is for LE to decide. Hopefully if he did nothing, then his name will be further cleared before it's all over.

I really believe the high 5 and all LA code talk is to confirm LA is on kc side.
LA helped cover up, lied and deleted stuff from kc computer.
LA is involved in the after the fact way. IMO

"He knows what he has done"

But how does that explain CA giving the wrong hairbrush, or wanting to give the wrong toothbrush to LE when they asked so they could get a sample of Caylee's DNA??

GA, imo just goes along with the flow but not without remorse or guilt. (he was unable to look directly into LK's eyes when answering Q's, like the smell of decomp turning into just rotten pizza)

Maybe the suicide attempt was a direct result of the pressure he's on to publicly defend his daughter along side his wife, despite his conscience?

LA seems to be on the side of his family, all the way and no matter the consequence. Or else why tell them NOT to do a poly, or give his DNA etc etc
I don't consider that cooperation with LE.

I think they all made the mistake of not letting LE do thier jobs and tried to conduct thier own investigations, witholding and possibly hiding evidence/info and got themselves way over thier heads. No wonder they are all lawyered up, they should have all taken polygraphs and let LE do thier thing if they ever cared about finding out the truth, be it as tragic as it is.

That about sums it up for me too, JustJax.

Heck no!! Hinky is as hinky does!
From the first call home from jail, I thought Lee was the one who could see through her BS. But, he IMO destroyed evidence, (blue screen) aided and enabled Casey in her "us against them" game with LE. At some point, Caylee should have been the main focus here. The fact that he kept trying to figure her out tells me he knew his niece was dead. Tells me he went out of his way to fabricate emails from Thomas Franck and the Eastern Division agent for Universal.events. com.
Since I do not know how Universal Ventures fits in with Casey's event planning, I must rely on witness statements. Lee's roommate sensed Casey was lying about her job with Universal Studios, but noted that noone questioned her about it.
I do think Lee was called upon to be the fixer in the family. Lee, come check on your mom. Lee, come take care of these protesters. He was caught in the middle.
BUT
I think Lee has had plenty of opportunity to be forthcoming with LE.
I think Lee is now very afraid.
I wish someone in this family had thought of Caylee.

Tell it, LancelotLink!

I think Lee changes sides depending on
1-The day of the week
2-Whether he has recently drank kool-aid
3-If he is taking his meds (no factual basis for this, just thinking he needs them!)

Take your pick.

The only thing I know about him and this family is they don't think like normal people and to expect the unexpected.

If you are starting to go to believing he is there for Caylee remember Cindy told AH and Tony L that KC would lie and steal from them and then proceeded to throw them under the bus with LE so there is no logic there.

And steal what was probably left of AH's money in Casey's purse. :bang:

I think that Lee has said some weird things along the way. Early on, he said something on the stand to the effect that he and KC tell each other things that they would never tell anyone else. Why would he say that under the circumstances? He told reporters that he would not disclose everything that he found during his investigation of the case, just as he knew that LE was not telling him everything. He laughed and drank water from a bottle during another interview with reporters in front of his house as they asked about Caylee's father. He said that they will never release that person's name because his family doesn't know about Caylee and they want to spare that family the pain of what they are going through. He said that Caylee's father had died in an accident. He definitely talked in some type of code with KC during an early jailhouse visit. He asked her what she was doing at Universal, fun or work. I think he may know what she was up to when she was "working". He knew her her whole life. He knows more about her than any of us. He knows she lies. He knows she steals. He knows she was not the best mother to Caylee. He knows that she put his parents through alot of crap. He was possibly the one to clear her computer, although I can hear that demand coming from CA. He never looked for Caylee. He was cryptic in his memorial speech. It would have been nice if he had just addressed Caylee as Caylee. If he called her CMA, then he should have said that as the world watched. My guess is that he was wearing a cremation bracelet and that is why he kissed his wrist. I don't know that he was talking to KC but he wanted the world to know that no matter what, his family will stand together. What choice does he have? He probably doesn't have very many people who will stand by him at this point. The family has been through hell and back, in their private lives and because of the media so that could push them to want to stand strong together. As far as covering for KC, this may be something that he is so used to, it is ingrained. I think initially, he was willing to confront KC but CA got to him and that was the end of that.

I wouldn't want to be in his shoes. It's not a pretty place. But no, I am still perplexed by him, just as I am totally baffled by KC and always will be.

I agree about the memorial. Dog lady, while it was a little amusing, had no business being there. None of the protestors did, and I don't care if they were screaming insults or sitting passively. Their daughter/sister may be a murderer, but they also lost their granddaughter. I don't care how much they denied it, IMO they all knew deep down inside Caylee was dead. I can't imagine remaining as passive as they did with those crazies outside my home 24/7.
Lanie

Lanie I feel like you on that one. i agree on the memorial, that was not nice . Maybe it was partly related to his or his parents denial that Caylee was not coming back. and maybe he had it connected in his mind with the people screaming insults and thought of it as a mockery of caring. (not saying I agree )

I really had no sympathy for the protesters. The dog was not gonna die of thirst on the spot because he emptied the water. there was no reason why the woman had to bring herself and her pet to camp out in front of someone's house with a bunch of yelling hooligans disturbing the neighborhood.

But I don't know what the heck to think of LA. I was glad he had told Annie not to protect Casey. He does seem skeptical of Casey in some of the conversations, and in his interview with LE . So I too wondered if he were being a sort of double agent. But wow, the way he talked at the memorial, I did not know what to think! I think some of what he said may have been to Caylee, I'd like to think he meant he had promised to find her murderer. But with some of what he said, it sounded like he had hook line & sinker bought into some story Casey has told them in which she nobly sacrified her freedom to try to protect Caylee and her family. <gag>
One thing I am sure is that he is in a lot of pain.

I actually don't blame people being wary of polygraph tests. there are good reasons they are not admissible in court. they just measure a person's physical reactions. They can't tell what is really causing the reactions. A true pathological liar, or someone delusional who believes their own lies, or someone who takes a tranquilizer before the test, may pass the test while an honest person might be told it is registering "deception". That actually happened to me -- I took one for a job application, and the test administrator kept insisting that it said I was lying when I said I had not stolen from an employer. They were implying I was some big embezzler! I told them "Well I guess I have taken a pen home from work or something but I can't think of anything worse." I KNEW I was telling the truth but they made me feel like I was a criminal. I suppose somehow my nervous reaction to being hooked up to those wires and interrogated made it look like I was really guilty.

I have always felt terrible pity for these folks, and have been horrified by some of the things I've read about them. I know they have acted weird but I don't know how I would behave under the same circumstances. No. My opinion of Lee has not changed.

Laughter during LE interview when discussing smell in Casey's car. (this made me really uncomfortable)

Just wanted to mention that many people react by laughing or giggling when they are EXTREMELY uncomfortable. It's where we get the term "nervous laugh". It almost seems like the brain trying to convince itself that the all is right with the world by forcing the body to do something it would normally be doing when it's happy and stress free.

I've always thought he was in truth's corner, however the chips might fall. And I never thought for a minute that he was Caylee's father.

Hopefully you know enough about your own character to know you wouldn't hide or destroy evidence and lie to the police to cover up a crime your child committed against your grandchild.

I've never really known quite what to make of Lee. I haven't felt as though he's involved in the crime or coverup, but have thought that he has an unusually enmeshed relationship with Casey. And I've thought him quite angry.

Of course, it makes perfect sense that he's angry--he's experienced the same dual loss that everyone in the family has experienced. But somehow, he's felt different. I guess because of a close sibling relationship, I've felt that he might be a confidante of sorts for Casey--and able to shed some insight.

OTOH, we don't know the extent to which he has shed insight--we're not privy to it all.

I do think that he genuinely wanted to find Caylee, and genuinely wanted to believe his sister was not responsible for her disappearance. Both of which are responses I would expect and hope to see.

But I still don't quite know what to make of him. Having grown up with a sociopath, I know exactly the lengths a family will go to to maintain the status quo, keep from rocking the boat, and present an appealing facade to outsiders. But we're talking murder here...kwim?

ETA: I suspect that we will be surprised by most of the Anthonys if they take the stand. I think we might see unexpected candor.

I have NOT changed my position on LA...or any of the A's for that matter.

IMO they are all guilty of a crime against Caylee. That beautiful little girl never had a chance at life with this "family"....MY OPINION.

I think Lee is a strange and intense fellow and I believe he will always love his sister (no matter what) but I believe he is cooperating with Law Enforcement.
