I’m still a bit concerned about the mattress that was removed (if that’s indeed true). And they removed it during the second pass thru the house, not the first, right? So maybe it wasn’t first evident that something was on or wrong with the mattress. But now it makes me feel like something is up. It could be several things, if someone were in bed during this crime that evening. Hmm.

At this point in time, what are you thinking - perp is a stranger? Or perp is known by victims/an aquaintance? I’m leaning toward stranger, 90%.

I think she was known to the perp. It seems that if there were a digital footprint (cyberstalking, catfishing, online communication, etc.) then there would be some indication from LE. Maybe not, of course, but that's just not a feel I am getting right now. However, I am not ruling out the idea that he was quietly stalking her. He might not have been contacting her online, for instance, but he could have been the relative or friend of someone she knewandable to follow her that way. Even if HER posts were set to "private", he'd still be able to see if she commented on a mutual friend's stuff, or if she made comments to a group they both belonged to. I've met several people in "real life" who, upon meeting me, have said, "Oh, I've seen your posts and your comments when you comment on _____(mutual friend's) stuff." So I would be looking at friends and family members of people that she was connected to both online and in person; ie, a friend's father, a cousin who was hanging around a girlfriend, an older friend's ex boyfriend, etc. I think this was someone who definitely knew HER.

Elizabeth Shoaf was kidnapped and held in an underground bunker for 2 weeks. The man who took her simply wanted a young woman and it was her bad luck to be there in the vicinity when he took someone. I don't think this was the case with Jayme, though. I think he targeted her.

Yes, I realize that. I was replying to the post that said that they may have been appealing to the perp as a human being and using psychology to make them feel more secure. The FBI has information that we don't. My take is that their methods of communication, as well as their words, are tailored to the profile of this individual. If they think that appealing to them by talking to Jayme is helpful, and that resisting certain words such as "suspect" and "killer" is a good idea, then it probably is.

I get ya on that. And I agree with you. Creeps me out a little to think this person has feelings is all.

I do agree about the digital foortprint. Like others have said, that should be fairly easy to check at least the obvious records, emails, texts, etc. So perplexing.

Or if something took place there before the crime. (Not accusing the victims of anything.) We just don't really know when the perp arrived at the house and we don't know what happened before the killings started.

I will try that. BTW have you checked out Jennie O's website? I was looking for shift hours and came across some interesting information. I don't know if I can post it here or not, but it is worth reading I think.

At your suggestion I went and perused the Careers section of the Jennie O website. I learned that the company recruits summer interns in various degrees who are going to be graduating soon from college for a number of positions. They are posting internships right now for summer 2019. The internships seem to last about 3 months, and for at least one there was a signing bonus, so I am guessing these internships are paid. Going back several months to summer 2018, there were probably several interns at the Barron plant. Being temporary workers for the most part, they may not exactly be a ‘part’ of the community, but would learn a lot about the folks of Barron in that time. I am certain LE has checked this avenue thoroughly, but it opened up new possibilities in my mind. I don’t think any of this discussion violates TOS, right?

So many threads to go back through, but I recall someone mentioning that the Google photos are nearly 10 years old, and that Canadian National now uses the tracks as part of their Wisconsin Central Limited line.

Yeah, me too. It's an unsettling idea for sure. And it's weird to think about some of the things that will appeal to crazies who do these kinds of things. On an intellectual level we might be able to understand, but on an emotional level it's hard to wrap your head around it-probably because we aren't murdering psychopaths.(Well,most of us anyway. ;-) )

If anyone is interested in the rail lines, and their usage, here is Canadian National's map of all of their lines. You can zoom in and see that the line behind the house is in use once again, and goes all the way to Poskin. The map also shows that CN maintains a station behind the Jenny-O store/factory.

When watching the latest press conference I was struck by the stress written across Sheriff Fitzgerald’s face compared to the first press conference. I wondered how a sheriff from a small, rural place such as this learns how to investigate a crime of this kind. Is it something they would have been trained to do or is it more like learning as you go? Or do the FBI and state investigators come in and tell him what to do? I feel so much compassion for the man to not only be investigating this crime but also being the face of LE having to handle the questions and criticism.

TIA for your answers to my question if you happen to know or have an educated guess.

The dog only wants chicken? Things that make you go hm when the parents worked at a Turkey Store....

Growing up I had lots of dogs and if I remember correctly, when a dog has an upset stomach, acting lethargic and won’t eat their food you are supposed to feed them boiled chicken and rice, it helps their tummy. That poor puppy is probably traumatized to the point where it doesn’t want it’s own dog food.

My county hasn't had a big crime like this in years, but whenever a neighboring county does (or on the rare occasion, we do) help is brought in. While the local LE technically is still at the top of the pecking order, they utilize technology borrowed from other counties and the knowledge of specialists. I know that our sheriff and police chief go through various trainings throughout the year, but crimes of this magnitude is usually just too much for a small force. Most welcome the outside help, even if it's just to get them through the press releases and handling of the media.

Yesterday someone posted a shot of the interior the front doorway with a screenshot from a major news outlet, which they apparently found on youtube. They wondered what they were seeing in the dark shadowy area beyond the doorway. I took the photo and I enhanced it in photoshop - so I kind of have some ideas on what that MAY be in the photo - so I'm wondering, are we allowed to post photos that we have taken from MSM and enhanced or is that a no no? Mods?

Yes, this is true. Chicken, rice and pasta can help when a dog is sick or off their food. Which I would imagine this poor little one to be.
