I know one thing without a doubt. I am so very thankful I am not the next door neighbors whose names are all over these threads.

I am so shy, I'd likely need help dealing with the unasked for and unwanted publicity. All because of where their house is located, as far as we know now.

looks to me like the neighbor placed themselves out into the public opinions, or at least haven't been trying to avoid it. also as far as neighbors go, mine might call me a recluse too, I do lots of stuff outdoors, just not here, I don't like my neighbors at all so I avoid them.

I’m not sure, but I think this person is saying that Jim would take Tuesday off, not Monday and Tuesday. It’s somewhat unclear, but I think the second sentence is explaining what “take off work” (in the first sentence) means. Maybe.

You could very well be right. It doesn't actually say Monday..

That red car found submerged in Oshkosh 3.5 hours away is very interesting. I’m eager to hear what comes of that.

I can’t help but say that I find the next door neighbor annoying and judgy.

As far as all of our theories, i’d Say one is about as good as the other at this point. We need more.

On a positive note, I just love the Sheriff. I think he is doing a fantastic job managing the Herculean effort, and all the supporting agencies participating. Surrounding LE in prayer for strength, stamina, and determination to see this through and bring Jayme home.

Amateur opinion and speculation
I posted this on the previous thread.

Authorities were definitely aware of the car situation yesterday. Was told pretty quick though, not related to #JaymeCloss. Wrong make, model, etc. Police in Oskhosh also dismissed it when @FOX9 called. So on surface, I'd say no go. But it still seems awfully suspicious..

ETA: This would also imply that he didn’t want to get up Tuesday morning and go to work (i.e., first shift), because he knew he’d be hung over.
Change the punctuation, which is possible they got wrong, and you are right.

I am not very sociable at all...but I generally would answer door if a neighbor knocked. Last week, in fact, I did get a knock in the evening by a neighbor...she noticed a tether tied to the staircase in front of my apartment that she had not seen before and wanted to make sure my little dog, who is often on the patio, was not missing from it.

So you never know. Sadly..the tether was stolen a few days later...which is very weird, as there is one on the patio next door, which is still there.

Anyway sorry for the OT but there has been a lot of that today...jmo

It hasnt been my day. I stand corrected. Again. But...this did cause me to wonder about a potential gambling debt. Also, do casinos take bets on football games, like some do for horse races?
The Wisconsin State Constitution prohibits gambling on sports. So, sports betting is not allowed in Wisconsin.

I don't understand. What kind of game would cause people to take time off from work? Did Jayme have a school event planned?

No. What the person was saying was that James was a big Green Bay Packers fan and IF the Packers were playing on Monday Night Football James would take the day off to stay home and watch the game.
Yes. This is the article we were discussing:

“Jim [Closs] is the type that he is so much into the Packers that he would take off [work] if the Packers would play on Monday night,” said MR. He would take Tuesday off because he knows he would be too hungover to go to work.”
Funeral held for James and Denise Closs in Cameron
(words bolded by me)

The post you quoted links to the following article: Funeral held for James and Denise Closs in Cameron “Jim [Closs] is the type that he is so much into the Packers that he would take off [work] if the Packers would play on Monday night,” said Ruffin. He would take Tuesday off because he knows he would be too hungover to go to work.” (bolded by me)

To me the bolded statement that James took off work anytime there was a game Monday night is a good clue supporting the much debated question on whether James normally worked the second shift at Jenny-o.
It indicates to me that he worked 1st shift.

It would help if we would all use initials for the neighbors, friends and family members.

"I can say with a great deal of certainty that if the perp. or perps. were not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, then they are criminally insane.
Maybe both, but certainly not likely to be sober at the time of the crimes, in my professional opinion."

I think this criminal/criminals would not be intoxicated, or under the influence of drugs.
If affected by either of the two listed, wouldn't there be obvious evidence left, as the criminal/criminals are not of sound mind.
Planning I feel, would be minimal.
He would be more careless, like a 'bull in a china shop'.
Perhaps the 'get away' would not be as successful either.
MOO.

I don't know if I'd term them hinky, but eye witness accounts are notoriously bad. In this case LE goes over at some point and tells them their neighbors are killed and asks if they heard anything. 9 times out 10 people are going to say yes. Suddenly they remember a scream or a shout or a shot. The more they tell the story, the more it grows. And the sad thing is, they really believe what they are saying. I've seen people be shown video footage of an incident that clearly doesn't go along with their eye witness report and they'll still claim they saw something else. It's why I have a hard time hearing their account and using it for a solid timeline. They don't make reliable witnesses, imo, when you add that they didn't know a child lived next door, that they thought the Closs's were there for 7 years, rather than 17.

what puzzles me about the car in the water is that as I understand it it was still floating where at least enough of it was above water to see that it was red. I think most ditched cars have the windows down so they will sink to the bottom. it isn't one of the models being looked for but could it be a car that was involved but not seen to be suspected. I can also see it totally not related at all, but by now they know who last had a title to that car by vin num I would think

Now that is quite interesting, and something to keep in mind as we examine all possibilities.

We can’t ignore that there seems (?) to be some history of debt, and it’s worthwhile to understand that more.

They looked in area the day before due to reports of cries for help. Searched. No car visible??
