Yes, you're most likely right.I think that's included with any unusual behavior or someone who has missed work. They said anything at all, no matter how insignificant it seems, may help. They have probably had dozens of calls saying, "my neighbor came home at 2:00 that night, or my ex boyfriend was acting strange the next day, or so and so didn't show up at work, or had scratches on his face," etc. They have cleared about 2000 tips. Not sure of the exact number but that's a lot of tips. Imo
Wow, I didn't realize there were only four in the last ten years. That's not much at all. That's barely one every two years. Although I think it was said there were two murder- suicides. No murders related to meth it seems. This would definitely be a first, if it's related. Imo"In the past decade, there have been a total of four killings in Barron County, according to the sheriff. Barron is the kind of town where screen doors are left unlatched in summer; in winter, few lock their front doors. Those days are over, several residents said."

"People moved to the town because it is safe, but right now, they aren't feeling that way.
Many were taking extra precaution to feel safe.
People we spoke with told us Barron is a place you feel safe enough to leave doors unlocked.
Many added their doors have been locked since learning James and Denise Closs were killed, and 13-year-old Jayme vanished."
Barron community reacts to missing Jayme Closs

Wisconsin town on edge with search for missing teen, parents found shot to death
and on and on. Like many areas across the united states there may be an outlaying drug issue, but it's not a den of meth heads. 4 murders in 10 years isn't what you'd expect to see in an area that is rampant with a meth problem.
This is not a highly populated community. Plus it is late at night when fewer still would be awake. I wonder if the FBI can check the cell phone pings in the general area. There are probably quite a few, but not as many there would be in a large city or during the day. Cross reference these with motor vehicle records and see what corresponds to the vehicles being sought.
Although there may be a small chance of this happening, LE seems to be sure that he answered the door before he was murdered. JmoHi everyone. Keep up the great sleuthing with Jayme. I wasn't able to keep up with her from the beginning and have missed nearly all the discussion and info. from LE, so am not able to offer much. Ironically, I was visiting Wisconsin the day she went missing and got the Amber Alert on my phone. I was shocked when I learned her parents were murdered. I think about her family often. From the info. I have read in MSM, IMO I think Jayme and her mom were home alone that night and whoever did this, knew that. I think Jayme's dad came home as the person was taking her out of the house. I think Jayme and her mom were held hostage for a time and maybe the person was waiting for dad to come home. Unless I have missed LE saying for sure that her dad was also home in bed, this is just all IMO and probably very wrong.
Who was watching what? They were looking to see who was watching
Thanks! I kind of got my theory from reading that he was at work during the birthday party and thought maybe he worked until at least midnight or went to a friend's house after work.Although there may be a small chance of this happening, LE seems to be sure that he answered the door before he was murdered. Jmo
I posted info on police and cell phone drop earlier. Complicated by privacy laws. It would be great cuz small area
Has that been reiterated since the police log? Ive wondered what/how they believe the entry took place but havent seen anything. At first look the officer said James answered the door, just after the first officer said he commited suicide. My take, after the log was explained to me, was they were both speculating at that point. But I had not heard anything about it since so I didnt know they were sure about this?Although there may be a small chance of this happening, LE seems to be sure that he answered the door before he was murdered. Jmo
They were looking to see who was watching
It's possible. Where I grew up there were two murder victims hidden in an abandoned house. But I would think by now LE has searched such places, especially those that are uninhabited. JmoI imagine a lot were like she was in a barn
Yeah, whatever the amount of time that the perpetrators were in that house, the implication was that it was for a relatively short period. In his radio interview, interesting to note that the Sheriff did not mention that the gunshots were heard by neighbors at 12:31AM relative to the response time of the 911 call. When asked about DNA left at the crime scene, his response related to the short amount of time (four minutes) that the bad guy(s) had at the home . . . Essentially he shortened the timeline to four minutes for the crime to occur / perp(s) in the home. Anyone else pick up on that or do I need to go back and listen again? (It was late last night when I listened :/ )
Edited for grammar
I originally thought he was struggling to prevent Jayme being taken and was shot in the doorway. JmoThanks! I kind of got my theory from reading that he was at work during the birthday party and thought maybe he worked until at least midnight or went to a friend's house after work.
That's what I think. Otherwise instead of emphasizing how quick it was he would have said something like, "we don't know what happened from the time of the gunshots and the time of the 911 call. So much can happen in 20 minutes and we hope to find DNA or other evidence." Instead he stresses that finding DNA is unlikely since the killers were in and out in about four minutes. ImoYeah, whatever the amount of time that the perpetrators were in that house, the implication was that it was for a relatively short period.
The timing of those gunshots heard by the neighbors, and this idea of a “four minute” time period, seem to be mutually exclusive.
Basically, he was saying that the neighbors must have been mistaken, and that 20 minute time gap didn’t exist.
