I still find that odd for some reason. Many have given very good possible explanations but, I still find it odd they were out in the early morning hours in a town or area, with apparently nothing going on...my Mamma always said, nothing good happens after midnight!

Again, my mind goes back to the 2 girls driving by at 2 am. The driver lived about 20 min away from crime scene. Still can’t wrap my brain around why they were out at 2 am on a Sunday night, in that particular area. A Friday or Saturday night, yeah, I get it. They don’t want the night to end and they’re just looking for something to do, taking a ride, smoking out a little maybe. A Sunday night, no. Everything closes early, they were too young to be in the casino, there was no where logistically that they should have been coming from - so why were they out? Did someone ask them, “hey, cops are out at a house on Hwy 8, can you go drive by and see if you can find out what’s happening?”
There are a lot of bars that will allow minors in (even if it's illegal), and they can stay open until 2:am (2:30 on Friday and Saturday nights).

Unless soneone who knew Jayme, how would they know it was her? It could be a person who was with them
We won’t know until LE shares this information. I believe them when they state that the 911 call reveals Jayme’s presence at the scene. I respect their desire to protect the investigation. However it leaves a lot of room for speculation.

I am driving myself crazy this morning. I am trying to figure out who the two officers were dispatched to at 504 24-1\2 address in call log at 3:27am on 10/15.

Sleuthers? Help?
It is an enigma since it is almost certainly a rental so we don't know who lives there (though we can learn who owns it), nor the connection to the case.

Okay this is how I see it 5 motives
1- Kill JC and leave
2- Kill JC and now change of plans because DC got in the way
3- Kill DC but JC got in the way
4- Kill both JC and DC Oh crap there's a child and a potential witness They may not have even known they had a daughter
5- Abduct JC and kill both parents for getting in the way

5 possibilities but where's the motive?

I still wonder if jame’s didn’t come home to this nightmare and was locked out of the house. Maybe he kicked in the door and was met with someone with a gun.
Seems strange to me that they took the mattress out of the house. Of course we don’t know for certain where DC was found?.

Like other people have posted, I can understand not wanting to let anyone hear the 911 tape just yet for the reason that was mentioned such as a language spoken other than english (human nature for people to have a field day with that and also people would be suspect perhaps unnecessarily because of that.

I also think it could lead others not forensically trained to go with the power of suggestion (similar to when someone asks another to look at a handwritten word on a piece of paper and they don't ask, "What do you think that word is?" Instead, they ask, "Do you think that word is -------?" Of course once someone plants that seed into your thoughts, you sort of keep going back to the word they said and then that is what it becomes to you. Not sure if I am explaining my reasoning correctly, but that is how I sort of see it happening.

I remember watching the documentary The Killing of Jessica Chambers and one person said the victim said, "Eric did this to me." Her words could barely be made out because she was burned so badly, but once someone thought that, others seemed to hear the same name when they asked her hurt her. One woman after the show admitted that if she had not been told by someone prior to hearing the victim say the name, she may not have been able to say the victim actually said "Eric." In the documentary, there was not an Eric that the prosecution could connect to the death. That in and of itself caused problems in court.

LE said they were all accounted for and home at 10pm

I could be wrong but I think the Sheriff determined that Jayme was home "because of the 911 call and evidence at the scene" (paraphrase mine) before any attempts at enhancement of the call. We can't even be sure when, with everything happening in those first hours, anyone in LE was able to listen to the 911 call, enhanced or otherwise. This suggests to me that it wasn't what was ON the call, but the call itself, that leaned them to believing she was there. MOO, I think they assumed Jayme had made the call, because her parents, at first blush, couldn't have. As for evidence at the scene placing her there, I would guess that could be as simple as a slept in bed and no evidence that she had been elsewhere. Logic would say, barring other information, a 13 year old would indeed be home, in bed, and likely asleep at 1 am .... perhaps it's no more complicated than that.

The Sheriff explicitly said that they knew Jayme was there at the time her parents were killed based on the 911 call itself - in part - and on evidence from the investigation. If there was nothing at all captured on the 911 call that indicated Jayme was there he would have simply said that they knew Jayme was there at the time of her parents being killed based on evidence from the investigation.

I happen to believe that mentioning something in the 911 call allowed law enforcement to determine Jayme was present is very significant. That there was a specific reason that the Sheriff mentioned it. There was no reason to mention the 911 call at all. He simply could have said that they knew Jayme was present at the time of the killings due to evidence from the investigation and left it at that. What the significance is, I don't know, but it seems to be something that law enforcement wanted out there.

I did a quick check. Most bars in Barron are open from 11am -“closing” including Sundays. Anyone know what time closing is?
State law is that bars must be closed between 2:00am and 6:00am Monday through Friday and between 2:30am and 6:00am on Saturday and Sunday. Keep in mind that the Saturday and Sunday closed hours are actually what would be at the end of the Friday and Saturday hours, respectively.

That said, a bar can close earlier that 2:00am (or 2:30) if they aren't getting enough customers, and/or the owner doesn't feel like staying open.

About the family not being able to hear the 911 call - LET ME BE CLEAR - I AM NOT SAYING ANY OF THE FAMILY MEMBERS ARE
SUSPECTS, however, there is an active investigation and I do not believe anybody has been eliminated as a suspect. Therefore, I do not believe they can, or will share the evidence with anyone

Some thoughts:

A month in, with LE asking hunters to look around, sounds like LE doesn't have much. If they had anything, they wouldn't be asking for this, IMO.

If family wants to hear the 911 call, let them!

Did LE try to pull DNA or partial prints off the shell casings? Right where you feed them in and push ( usually with the thumb).

Has the digital trail been examined yet? Home computer, phones?

I'd like to see more drones or planes used, checking for smoke or other unusual sights, especially now that many leaves have fallen.

I hope Jayme is found soon.

10-minute video posted yesterday which describes many of the investigative efforts including:

Investigators have scoured the Closs' phones and computers, including Jayme's. All of the social media platforms have been searched.

You said it perfectly!!

LE undoubtedly has very good reasons why they are not letting the family hear this 911 call. IMO it is because doing so may compromise the investigation, or because the content of the 911 call would be extremely distressing to this family, or possibly both. The day may come when it is appropriate for the 911 call to be released. The day may never come that the family actually should listen to this call for their own best interests. That will be their choice, of course. However I hope they think long and hard before making that decision. If they decide to listen to it, they will never un-hear what is on that recording.
