Judge--"Let me cut you short", we will have a Rogers Hearing, it is incumbent on you to establish a two-prong test, file a motion, set it pretty quickly for hearing. That witness can appear by video unless the State has any objection

JA says not a recognized science and doesn't want to pay for it.

JB says he has saught and laboured many hours and says Taphony is recognized, blah blah, blah, JP cuts him off, Judge says they will have a Rogers hearing. Says it is incumbent on defense to do a 2 prong test, file a motion , quickly, the witness can appear by video unless State has any objection. Defense must provide a c.v. of the expert witness and file it, and then arrange to appear for video conference to testify, easily.
JB agrees.

JA objecting to the defense using an expert in a field called "taphonomy", Mr. Ashton says he has never heard of taphonomy and that it's forensic anthropologists who study human decomposition. Mr. Ashton make a comparison between "taphonomy" and phrenology. Mr. Baez says Taphonomy is a subcategory of forensic anthropology and a recognized scientific field, the expert in question's background is in forensic anthropology. Mr. Ashton says he'll need more than Mr. Baez's claim that Taphonomy is a legitimate scientific field.

Baez....Mr Ashton can Google it....WRONG thing to say..

IMO Baez does not like to be confronted and does not like to have to PROVE his words.
It's okay for him to do it but he does not like it when the tables are turned. Just my observation.

Baez, you need to have PROOF to back up your claims in court when challenged...

The court has referred a couple of times as this not being a 'run-of-the-mill case'. I agree this has become a big circus, but the basic facts, unfortunately, are not all that unique.

Maybe they're going to call KC as the cell phone expert. She knows all about switching sim cards, phones that don't keep charge, phones that get lost at imaginary jobs, and she holds the world record in marathon cell phone sessions!

I'll tell ya what I want to see -

I want to see where all these percentages %'s of completed work by these experts are documented. Call me cynical, but I'm not buying the %'s JB is proffering. Nope, not even a little bit.

I agree, maybe I missed JP commenting on this but I would think JB
would have to show some proof of time spent by these experts other than
just word of mouth.
