I think they were afraid what he would do to their family.........not to them since they were locked up.

Maybe. But I have to wonder why Misty ventured to TN to spend ten days in the same state with Joe. I wouldn't have gone anywhere near him, were I so traumatized. Something about this Joe did it scenario really bugs me. :waitasec:

If it was JO....He is out and about...so why no more fear? JO isn't locked up or anything.

Right now my delusional self chooses to believe Wherter has a good working relationship with LE and there is a method behind the madness in reference to everything Wherter is claiming...Either that or he is a crazy fool to believe ToC and Misty were afraid of cousin Jo..LDT and LVA revealed and proved she had been threatened but it wasn't by cousin Jo..JMO

I watched while I was having dinner and appreciate the commentary. I'm not buying the "fear factor" as a reason to deliberately refrain from going to LE with any information that ToC and/or Misty had about HaLeigh's disappearance/death.

Because at that time all three had made a family pact.

She couldn't go to TN to granny Flora's and all of a sudden avoid JO like poison ivy when he had just been to Florida to visit her. She and JO kept up the sham like nothing was out of kilter. They had to give the appearance that everything was just fine in the family.

I think Tommy and Misty are involved heavily. I think any admission, even laying all the blame on JO, was a last resort. Tommy needed a reason for not coming forward sooner. IMO

But if she was scared of him why the heck go to Granny's at all? It just does not fly. JO's this and JO's that and we have been scared for 15 months, nope I ain't buying it.

The last story that we heard from Misty(IIRC) was that she only saw Tommy peering in through the open back door, this might be the story that Werter is referring to when he says Misty never implicated Tommy. IDK...

I have a big problem with this whole scenario. BIG. RC checked the back door before he left for work every night( according to him).....it was locked...So does Misty go to sleep with the front door unlocked? Doubtful if they go to such extreme measures to make sure the back door is always locked. Misty had to let Joe and Tommy in...so for what? And when? There was something in this for her in my opinion....then something went very wrong.

She hung out with a murderer (and rapist/molestor if we are going to believe Misty) for appearance sake? She didn't have to go to TN at all. She had plenty of reason to avoid him if she did go, she already said on national TV that he messed with her when she was a kid and she suspected him in the Haleigh case.

And keeping up appearances is either not high on the priority list with this entire clan, or is something completely outside of the ability to understand.

I am not buying the Joe story. Just doesn't ring true to me. MOO

Isn't Lindsy back in Florida, with her kids? What happened in the last month that they're no longer afraid for their kids' lives?

And didn't MC accuse JO publicly of assaulting her when she was younger? Where was the fear then?
