In other words, he's still not wanting to hand over the expert reports. JB better be careful or he's going to be paying that $500 a day fine that was discussed at the last hearing.

IF he keeps stalling, trying NOT to hand over discovery Judge Perry should give him a Fine AND consider a Go Directly to Jail card.

Little Bitty's assessment of today's motion hearing (based on the work product of WebSleuther's paraphrasing today's hearing)

Jose Baez: Photos! Need to have them! More spaghetti to throw at the wall. Need more fishing lines in the water...more bait to try and trick the jury with...JJ took them. Or he blogged that he took them. He then posted his link to his blog with pictures on the whole wide web...people on WS's investigate stuff. They don't post nice things about our defense strategy. An overwhelming majority of them post that they believe Casey is guilty. They don't fall for our spaghetti at the wall/fish bait strategy. This is unfair. Unreasonable. People don't think I am doing a good job. Posters post things. JJ was interested in finding Caylee...this is a slamdunk for the defense. I need blogs. Pictures...blah blah blah..

HHJP: No. No fishing expedition. NO. :furious:

HHJP: I am in control. There are 7 days in a week. I will schedule things whenever I deem them necessary. You won't like it. Stop bringing frivolous motions in front of this court. (HHJP didn't really say the last sentence but it is totally implied) :loser:

In the Case against Casey Anthony, Judge Belvin Perry denied a subpoena on Wednesday, requested by the defense, to collect photos belonging to a Texas Equusearch volunteer.

You know what really bothers me? Baez adamantly spouts disparaging remarks about bloggers and WS, then has the audacity to try to use evidence posted on this site and SM. He can't have it both ways!

I had a dilemma...stay home and watch the hearing OR take my Friend up on her offer of Shopping and Lunch....

So I went out and did what I could for the economy...within my budget of course...

I about peed on myself when HHJP said " I see that Judge Eaton is leaving." How great was it that Perry even mentioned that? And then Mason standing there with his hands in there going the WTH to Judge Eaton as he walks, walks walks out that probably as fast as he could!! That was a darn good moment. Downright hilar.

Have we seen any reports that say Judge Eaton was actually sitting in the courtroom? I know there was a lot of discussion here but I haven't seen any comments in the media.

When I heard Perry say that I was just thinking that Eaton stuck his head in the room to waved goodbye much like I did the last day before I retired to all my co-workers that were in the middle of something.

Then I concluded from Mason's remark that Mason wasn't aware the Eaton was actually leaving that day for good.

This is a man who did not pay child support. That is about as low as one can get.

Graduated from St Thomas Law School in 1998. Was not permitted to practice law for 8 years. The FBBE(Florida Board of Bar Examiniers)and the FSC(Florida Supreme Court)issued an order that outlined his offences:
-unpaid bills
extravagent spending and other financial irresponsibility
(writing bad checks)
-did not pay child support payments on a regular basis and neglected to purchase and pay for his childs’ insurance needs (life/medical)
The FBBE and the FSC said about J.A.B.(Jose Angel Baez)
overall behavior: he shows “a total lack of respect for the rights of others and a total lack of respect for the legal system”.

Sometimes the darnest things inspire me. I think I know why JB was so afraid of the JIB JAB video.

Judge Eaton is now retired.
Also, he was not a Judge in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court (Orange and Osceola Counties) but in the 18th Judicial Circuit Court (Seminole and Brevard Counties)

I think he just wants to play games and conduct a trial by ambush. Apparently, he was criticized by a former client for doing the same thing and it cost his client dearly. As in some evidence wasn't allowed to be admitted. JB doesn't learn from his mistakes.

IIRC he did or tried to do that (Trial by Ambush) in the Lake County trial of his former client, Nilton Diaz

As for Mason's demeanor today I think that Mason was just trying to show that he had nothing to do with this motion.

Unlike all the motions we heard on Monday, JB signed this one. Mason probably knew it was a stupid idea to try and therefore was trying to show that he didn't condone it.

I really doubt Mason likes to be associated with a lot of the defenses actions.

He may have been tired..he was in Court yesterday with his other high profile client.

I wish one of the locals could sit in on this trial a day or two and see how CM performs there.

I don't know how he ended up with a high profile client if he acts there the same way he does here.

I hope for his clients that he hasn't acted this way for the last 40 years or so.

Well I imagine that's the story JW told him to avoid admitting even she thinks ICA is a guilty joke (every other day when she isn't insisting she's innocent). Another Big Fat Conspiracy by the State of Floria to frame the completely innocent and collegiate-looking Ms. Anthony (I'm waiting for her to come to court wearing glasses and carrying a briefcase) for something she clearly couldn't have done, never mind she is the only human on the planet with motive, method and opportunity issues.

The funny thing to me is that JB is objecting to a video that one of his own witnesses created. And it's a lot kinder than ones made by people who don't like Casey very much. A lot of those internet artists, however, were savvy enough to use direct quotes from ICA and her miniature circus caravan of "supporters" in their videos. I guess it wouldn't do much good to object to the kind of high parody that can be created out of words that actually have been issued from the mouths of Anthonys.

Maybe the defense is still trying to trick the state into thinking they actually have a strategy in this case other than mitigation with all this hoopla smoke and mirrors. But this plan backfires every time. It looks ridiculous and smacks of desperation. Better to spend time with the client teaching her to grovel (even if fruitless) or to work on various ways to help her toss her family and friends under the bus as somehow being responsible for creating the very monster who did the mash.

JB is saying there will be "issues" with Expert reports because the State will cross examine the Defense experts and say to the Expert "is this all you put together as a report?" I guess JB thinks this qualifies as an excuse to not have the Experts do a report of any substance? Or he is saying that forcing the Experts to write a report will subject the Expert to criticism by the State on cross examination?

It will be interesting to see what law the Defense comes up with to challenge Judge Perry's authority to require the Expert Reports!

THE BBM - is what I wanted to drawl attention to. Sounds to me like he will try to enter motions saying they have NEWLY uncovered "issues" (AKA - fishing trip loot!) and new RESEARCH that prevents the reports from being finalized.
