2011.03.24 Frye Hearing - Afternoon portion

This is some evidence I will really look forward to seeing. The evidence may point in just the opposite direction. Plus, ICA was an adult when she was pregnant with Caylee, and there are many options available even to non-adults besides being "forced" by your mother to do something.

Have we heard anyone besides ICA say her mother "forced her" to carry Caylee full term and give birth to her? I keep looking for this information but I haven't found it yet.

BBM: The only info I have seen on this LG is Kiomarie's statement where she claims she told ICA she might want to adopt her baby and ICA told her that her mother wouldn't let her give the child up...........so you'd have to believe ICA in order to believe Kiomarie's statement could be true......which we can't

I think much of the multiple posting is because none of us can see what the other is posting while we post and we are trying to keep those who are reading only up to the minute with most of this stuff. Some of us post about mood etc., and some are very good posting the more complicated evidence stuff.

I don't have any trouble scrolling by duplicate posts - as I am often watching to see who is posting what to see if I can add anything. I don't see how this can be avoided during the trial unless select members are chosen to post only and then does that not take away from the whole spirit of being online at WS and watching the hearings/trial live?

I am also loving the smart aleck one liners because it is a huge tension release during some tough stuff to watch - whether it is hugely boring or highly emotional. Thanks all - just IMO

That's just it. IMO, the people watching all this mess and posting about it aren't doing it specifically and only for people who can't watch. That hardly seems fair to me that would even be expected. I know when I watch I also enjoy having the others to chat with.

I've missed several of the hearings, and have caught up by reading these threads, and also by hitting the links people are so kind to provide for the replay of the hearings, which I recommend to those who don't like to wade through the commentary. I personally like to do both.

One of my theories from long ago in the chloroform thread, where I was not appreciated, lol, is she happened across it somewhere (such as a tattoo shop, for example) and stole it. Like, "Oooooo, chloroform...what can I do with that?"

I don't think she made it, either, and IIRC, one of the reports stated something about it being consistent with 'commercial' grade.

And while she very well might have used it on Caylee, I don't think it's necessarily so. She might have put it in the trunk to hide it and a small amount leaked out, she could have tested it on a rag, then threw the rag in the trunk, etc.

I have a hard time coming up with a scenario that involves not only chloroform, but also duct tape over the nose and mouth, unless she made Caylee drink it or else injected Caylee with it.

Faefrost - I don't think you mentioned this part - although you were more talking about overall performance impressions and summaries - Thank You - but my one of my overall favorite parts was........drumroll.......

Dr. Vass and his squirrel experiment evidence! Baez's reaction was classic and I found it very difficult to bellylaugh and cheer at the same time.

In my version of the "ugly coping" theory, Casey had been mentally ill for a lengthy period of time due to sexual and emotional abuse by her family, and was, because of that, able to dissociate herself from reality and seem "happy" when really horrible things happened to her (like her daughter dying in a terrible accident). So her behavior before and after wouldn't have been any different, really.

This makes sense to me, and I think it (her dissociating) has a chance of being true, for whatever reason. Her behavior was absurd. I just don't know how dissociation would go to defending herself against murder charges.

Because, wouldn't that theory cut both ways? In other words why would it be that "she was dissociating from a kidnapping trauma"? It could also be "she was dissociating from murdering her daughter"?

Excellent screen shots. Now only if you could get a screen shot of what many of us thought HHJP was experiencing a stroke of some kind. His eye twitching had me worried for a bit.

Sorry if this has been brought up-But I am re-listening to the hearing, the part with Dr. Vass.

JB is asking about the ingredients of the items in the trash bag.

Let's say he goes in the direction of the salami package, as the pizza pie in the sky is not gonna fly...when the trash bag evidence was first released, I found and posted a link to an article here that talked about how pork based salami, as it is aged, releases olefins/proteins similar to those in adipocere. We know an Oscar Mayer salami package was in the bag.
Someone, maybe it was Val, quickly eliminated the idea that the little pieces of fat that sometimes pop out of salami, which may have been in the package and on the paper towel, would be similar to adipocere under a microscope or other testing. It may have had to do with the salts and preservatives.

Just puttin it out there now, in the event that JB goes in that direction-It has already been hashed over here and I was convinced that salami fatty pieces canot be mistaken for any kind of human remain "leftovers, " let alone cause chloroform scents in the trunk.

When watching live, I enjoy the hearing threads, especially when there is humor. This is a very serious matter, but sometimes it is refreshing to giggle at the antics that go on.

Whenever I miss a hearing, I usually just go for a summary at one of the news sites, and not wade through the hearing thread. I can also watch the videos there. I really appreciate the "Today's Current News" Threads. Gets me to what I want quickly. :twocents:

Good point.

Even if I entertained the idea that she was dissociating from a kidnapping trauma, hearing her lie to detectives and her chilling call home would leave me wondering: did she really dissociate, or is she just a sociopath?

Thing is, from my POV, KC is a sociopath and she displays many characteristics of a sociopath. Specifically, she has no affective connection to Caylee. This was clear to me when she called home and was only concerned about Tony's number; she was cold to a friend who cried for Caylee. The infamous, 'Oh well.' as Kristina Chester sobbed at the thought of something happening to Caylee.

That is not someone who is dissociating; it's a sociopath.
