Adipocere is a result of fat decomposition that occurs only in specific conditions. The most important condition in this case is that it occurs during anerobic conditions--meaning conditions with little or no oxygen. If the body had been left immediately in the woods subsequent to death, adipocere probably wouldn't have occurred--unless, for example it was tied up securely in plastic bags. However, if the body had been left in, say, the trunk of a car fo some time, esp a car that was filled with chemicals that would take the place of oxygen (choloroform?), grave wax is likely to occur. So adipocere at the dump site indicates that the body was left out in the final resting place only after some decomposition had already occurred.

PGWodehouse, I would like to throw in here that there is a lot of peat in Florida swamps. I have had many occasions to see the swamps with a very dark tea color after a hard rain in Florida, not to mention it was that way after Tropical Storm Fay with 26 inches of rain over a four day period. Would that have any affect to the preservation of the grave wax on the pelvis if it was embedded in the peat that deeply?

If the state is trying to prove to me that Caylee's body had been in this specific place for quite some time, they are doing a bang up job of that.

BUMP because the above is important. Very important in debunking the DT theory.

I know, it's just that a majority of this thread seems to only be about ICA, which would translate to most people in general concerned about ICA and not what else is going on.

Ya can't ignore a big flaming elephant in the room and how it's actions may be effecting the jury...............

very hard to listen to this testimony. Kronk did not find, store and then position these bones at a later date. No way Jose.

Think your "no way Jose" is going to be the running theme during defense case.

JA asking that Dr. is recognized as expert in the field of forensic anthropology by the jury.

No objections by DT.

Big blow to Kronk crank theory....body was there before leaf fall.

I'm getting screen shots of Casey's reactions to what is said, but the captions would be just too gruesome, I think. She hasn't really changed her demeanor. She has her head turned to the side and down, holding a handkerchief up to her nose, and seems to be sobbing, but does the same whether FA is talking about general things or specific body parts.

Why doesn't the DT provide a box of Kleenex??

OT but I am watching a local channel carrying it live and Greg Warmoth just said the sidebar is over but he will get BSheaffer's comments during the next sidebar. LOL as if it was a given there would be another soon. :floorlaugh:

NICE....he mentioned flooding in area. That is important as later the defense will argue that SHE WASN'T there when the area was searched.

Poor ICA. She is shocked, shocked I say, to discover the fate that befell her beloved infant at the hands of her loathsome father. Luckily, she was watching an entertaining film about a serial killer broadcasting his grisly deeds at the time.

Just getting here for the day...took a glance at clickorlando...at ICA...had to turn it off immediately... So, all good now! One screen, witness only. Gruesome testimony but sooo important.

Erosion on bones. Bye bye, Mr. Kronk.

Oh, I see where he is going with this.

Where and how they found this bone is significant in showing how long Caylee's body was there.

Approximately how long were these remains in this area? asked by JA

answer from witness: a period of 6 months

6 MONTHS!!!!
