I think it's so funny when Baez asks an expert witness to explain something to the Jury because he "doesn't want to get too technical", and "confuse the Jury".

As if Baez is on the same intellectual level with each expert, when it comes to each specific science. As if!

I feel it sounds like he thinks the jurors are not capable of understanding anything. Maybe because JB does not understand what the witnesses say, he assumes the jurors do not either. I really dislike when an attorney says "Please explain it simply so the jurors understand.". Probably this is true for all cases, but I still feel it is insulting. Like ICA's intentionally lowered chair.

I agree. I think it's very rude and patronizing on JB's part. I'd be offended if I was one of those jurors. I would be thinking "this guy must think I'm stupid!":banghead:

Is Baez trying to bore the courtroom to death?:waitasec:

My 12 yr old now known as ShadowGIRL (lol) just stated:"I don't get why he is questioning her. What is he trying to prove?"

Four, I believe. 12 regular, 4 alts, 16 total - WSers correct me if I am wrong.

Five alternates-- here's a nice link: [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6666410&postcount=88"]Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - 2011.06.13 Sidebar (Trial Day Seventeen)[/ame]

Defense is trying to show the lack of enough dna on the shovel to profile means Casey couldn't have used much force with it or not used it

Obviously she didn't use .She ended up tossing Caylee into the woods like trash. But she thought about it or she wouldn't have borrowed it.

An IMO kind of thing. I noticed on occasion, it is reported that the jury is smiling, or laughing, nodding off or almost, etc. while in the court room. I do believe that the judge should give some admonition to them to knock it off. This is a trial and no matter how bad any particular lawyer might be or whatever, CA is on trial for her life.
The jury should be instructed on their behaviour. They should take whatever back to their jury room not the court room.

Does anyone even know what an RFU is??

Now I know how freshmen feel during my lectures.

All of this to say no blood?

I think the board helps Baez more than the jury...

  • #932
court room exposure to this type of testimony is just experience JB can list on his resume.

  • #933
I think this witness would be more effective if she wasn't allowed to go into such unnecessary detail. I'm trying to look at the DT's case with an open mind but I keep tuning out this witness.

  • #934
what happens if the judge nods off?

  • #935
peaks and RFUs and more JB scribbles!!! EEk....

  • #936
So far from her testimony I am hearing much more explanation of her job details... and no information ON THE CASE!!!!!

She explains everything because she is being asked. But he just keeps asking her to explain things. Its driving me crazy. Get to the point!

There is yet another threshhold, 50 RFU's. Has to do with peaks. That's the best I got, LOL!

  • #938
:banghead: Baez is determined to let everyone know how much he studied...

Is it just me that when this witness has to request to provide additional explaination/description of her answer make Baez appear, umm, incompetent?
