Brilliant Jose show the jury a giant photo of a dead body/PIG in a car trunk... That oughta stick in the minds of the jury. No body can be this incompetent

My thoughts exactly... give them a good idea of what poor little Caylee's body went though. Only more quickly in Florida heat.

Heres the thing about these proffers. These are questions that should have been covered in the original depo but were not. Therefore I think HHJP is trying to be fair by allowing these questions now.

OK now he's saying everybody with experience can tell the smell of a decomposing body but the jury is not there.

  • #1,124
Anyone familiar with decomp can tell by the smell! Good witness for the prosecution.

From now on, HHJP wants reports of experts provided to him before any testimony.

#caseyanthonytrial diabetic woman was ejected because she appeared to be having blood sugar crash. She all but begged to stay.

Love him backing up that people who are around decomp KNOW the smell, etc. Wish the jury had been there for that.

CJBP - Show me his opinion in his report or his deposition!

:great:

Jury out of room. Witness just said you can tell by smelling if it was a dead body. Oh, for heaven's sakes.

HJBP: what he is going to testify about and show in depo or report

OT but can you imagine how JB was in school? Teacher gives an assignment and he comes up with something completely different....

I'm very grateful that I have a stubborn little boy who's having trouble with number 2 on the potty because I see I missed pics that I am VERY happy that I did not have to see

Just switched on. Thankfully for Casey Anthony (and anyone who wants her to get a fair trial) this seems to be adding to the ammunition for the ineffective assistance of counsel claim.

You mean the stain that was tested and contained NO DNA? My trunk seal leaks and there is a similar rust stain on the rug to the stain that was in KC's trunk. I've never had a dead body in my trunk.

You know DNA is destroyed as the decomposition process progresses?? That Caylee died on June 16th, 2008 and the report of the car that smells like a dead body had been in it wasn't until July 15th, 2008?

I've been away from WS for close to a week and I understand from A_News that our supply of Thwartcakes is getting old and stale.

So I've just been whipping up a big new batch - cause I know we're going to need a lot when JA gets up to cross this witness.

Step up and get yours ready! :cupcake: :giggle:

This witness just completely bolstered the prosecution's witnesses that stated anyone familiar with a decomposing body will recognize the smell!!:great: And Jose seemed to miss this huge mistake!

Good morning friends.

Justice for our princess.

JB: And that material there, what is that black material?
Dr. H: The black material is decompositional fluid. It's a combination of body fluids, bacteria, bacteria waste, maggot waste, maggot secretion, maggots create enzymes that help break down the body. And that fluid leeches from the body as the decomposition process happens.
JB: And is that stain distinguishable?
Dr. H: When you see a stain like this...
JA: I have an objection if counsel is asking him to identify what a stain is, I don't believe that is his area of expertise.
HJBP: Doctor, do you know what the stain is?
Dr. H: Yes sir.
HJBP: Okay, overruled.
JA: May I have voir dire Judge? I don't believe it's in his area of expertise.
HJBP: Go ahead.
JB: He's going to question you now.
JA: What expertise are you bringing to bear to identify specifically what the fluid is in that in that picture?
Dr. H: Years and years of experience of watching animals and humans decompose via insect activity and otherwise.
JA: Have you ever had it chemically analyzed to know what's in it?
Dr. H: No sir. I have not.
JA: Objection You Honor, he has no basis *shaking his head as he walks back to his seat* (could not hear the rest)
HBJP: I will permit him to continue his testimony, objection overruled.
JB: Alright, continue. You were talking about the stain...
Dr. H: Right, the decompositional stain, most of the studies that I've conducted and even cases that I've worked on have been in outdoor environments. This same fluid leeches into the ground, very distinguishable my colleagues at the university of Nebraska work to identify places where bodies have decomposed specifically looking at the presence or absence of these decmopositional fluids. In cases like this where you have a mat or carpet where the animal has decomposed it is very noticeable...
JA: Objection Your Honor. We have a discovery issue.
HJBP: Okay, approach the sidebar.

OK now he's saying everybody with experience can tell the smell of a decomposing body but the jury is not there.

That was huge! I hope JA can ask him to repeat that statement in front of the jury.
