wait wait wait... he's saying the hair was glued back on? I think I missed something

water would only remove the glue if the it was only stuck to the skull but not if it was stuck the face?

  • #2,664
OMG - someone took the skull away and applied the tape and then brought it back....This is a massacre.

DT will appeal the guilty verdict based on Werner Spitz forgetting what team he is playing on today.

Jeff Ashton is so skilled at eliciting statements to support the state's theory while Dr. Spitz continues to run his mouth.

Why isnt DT objecting to some of this?

I think DR. Spitz is becoming defeated in his demeanor now!!

  • #2,667
Wow, JA is a master in his cross...he just got the witness to admit the water would wash the glue away from the tape.

Dr. Spitz thinks you can reattach the mandible to a skull with duct tape only on one side? :waitasec:

I cannot believe how far afield of logic this guy is willing to go to stick to his story. He is stretching the laws of physics, basic knowledge of the human body and common sense so far that IMO, anyone who takes him seriously isn't paying attention to him. JMO

I'm sorry, but I don't feel bad for this Dr at all. And Jeff doesn't need to be gentle.

Spitz is not a newbie to this stuff, he's testified as an expert in high profile cases before. IMO, he doesn't get a free pass or handled with kid gloves because he's been on this earth for 85 years. He agreed to testify in this case - - Ashton is trying to get justice for a murdered three year old little girl. With all due respect, that's more important than Dr Spitz's hurt feelings.

My opinions...

Totally agree!!! The defense paid him to testify so let him work for his money...

Residue....JA finally asked the right question. If the tape was stuck after decomp and if you believe the hair would have fallen after the skin was gone, then there would have been duct tape residue on the skull and not be attached to the hair.

  • #2,674
now the doctor is sounding barmy by saying that someone moved the body and put the jaw back on with duct tape after it was a skeleton - I get what JA is doing now! WOOOOHOOOOO

  • #2,675
Wouldn't the water have washed away the adipocere allegedly keeping the hair together, if it was able to wash away the duct tape residue from the skull?

This is so reminiscent of the Spector trial for me. Defense witnesses testify, SA asks them if this is your testimony how does blah, blah, blah? Then they try to explain and just dig themselves a deeper hole. imo and jmo and all that

  • #2,678
Kind of sad to go out like this, but I think JA just sent Spitz into retirement.

His theory is crazy.
