Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #201

I want the families to know that what he did to their daughters, what he did to their bodies, and that complete strangers are viewing especially LG's body nude, does not denigrate them. It denigrates RA, who I believe will be convicted of these crimes.

I just feel so bad for their families. Alleged murderer, but also a thief. Took their lives, stole their futures, robbed their families, and nowvthis: ripped privacy from all of them.

Want to articulate this a thousand times. They are sacred. What he did, profane. They remained untouched. The darkness, the depth, the depravity, it's all him.

He stole from every generation of their families...

And he sits there stone-faced.

Off with him.

My sympathy goes to the loved ones of Abby and Libby, two girls who should still be alive.

As difficult as this day was for the family, friends, jurors and LE, I still feel grateful that they are all finally in court, seeking a guilty verdict against RA.

For many years, we thought these days might never come, that the killer might never be found. I’m so glad they finally found him.

Trial has barely begun and a verdict not reached AFAIA.

You are so right!

So many of us, along with you, are so glad they found him!!

Those photos were from the crime scene taken on February 14, 2017. Those clothing items were found first before their bodies were found around noon. The only way that man could have gotten them was from the MW leak whether directly or indirectly.
@MassGuy
You are 100% right, and I deeply apologise. I was conflating Gavin Fish with J. Kyle Keener.

I WAS WRONG. Please ignore my previous post.

I try to be thorough with my posts, and I screwed up. My day went sideways because I had to take my cat to the vet (nothing serious) and it threw me off completely.

Perhaps they did attempt to escape -- the rule, don't let them take you to the secondary location -- you might die trying but the second place is NEVER going to be better. And they were murdered, trying.

Chaotic scene, he lost control and regained it IMO by gross force. Rage.

Those poor girls.

They were safe and happy, carefree and expecting to have The Whole Rest of Their Lives in one moment, and in the next, they were in the very bowels of hell.

He'll get his.

JMO

I have always thought the girls' may have made a run for it across the creek, but didn't NM say in his opening or his mini opening that he forced them across the creek?

No worries friend. :)

I have followed this case and am horrified by what happened to these girls- and if I’m going to take a hypothetical innocent until proven guilty narrative, is there another plausible explanation for the evidence that we have to date - regardless of defense motions and prosecution mistakes- is there a narrative that explains the evidence and yet doesn’t assume that the current accused individual on trial is obviously guilty?

In the quest for justice for the girls, I have to wonder if the “masses” would be willing to have the wrong person held accountable vs no one held accountable

Does our desire for closure and accountability on occasion obscure our quest for justice- would we rather a man be falsely convicted? Or the case remain unsolved? Just thinking out loud, towards no one in particular- but thinking about some recent dinner table conversations… moo
Great question. But it’s kind of hard to answer this question when the first 70 days of interviews were accidentally lost. JMO.

Just looking for opinions here - obviously not facts.

Aside from us all wanting justice done and if you set aside the facts we have heard so far - the things we have heard about RA - if you look at the individual, if you see his wife and family, if you see how he was open enough to share those facts we know, if you look at how he has deteriorated in some ways in prison - - do you personally feel he could be capable of doing what was done? Maybe I haven’t heard everything? ( was he a hunter? Previous arrests? Known for being violent?). I am NOT saying my opinion is that he didn’t do it - not at all. I’m just want JUSTICE and for them to have the right guy!!! Also, I know sometimes a killer is not what you expect them to be like - example: Ted Bundy.

Testimony today clarified that the bullet(shell) was found during the original crime scene investigation, before Libby's body was removed from the scene. Hopefully the misinformation that it was found days, weeks, or months later can be put rest.

This info can be found around the 55:30 mark below

On a thread here there was a guy, allegedly a good man, abducted a women. She was kept in a large plastic container w/no clothes. When he would home home from work he would violate her and put her back 8n the tub. On3 day she begged not to go in the tub, he relented. She saw an envelope with his name on it. He released her after a couple weeks (I think), to her to a gas station and gave her a bag of quarters.

He was soon after arrested.

These monsters start somewhere. They fantasize when they have no prior.
Grrrrr......m

Sadly, I believe the goalposts moving will continue.

In the latest Murder Sheet episode, at around 38 minutes, they mention the yellow rope that was used by investigators to help cordon off areas that weren’t free to walk through yet.

Presumably the same yellow rope in Franks 1 that the defense claims may have been used to “[hang] Abby on a tree stringing her up by her feet” (page 39).

That is… certainly something.

All my opinion.

I'm near the end of the recent Murder Sheet Podcast. Odd that Baldwin remarked that the investigators should have gone to the local CVS to get a thermometer to use on the bodies?

Being chased by an armed man counts as 'forced' in my book.

But I'm assuming that they think he still had control of them after the creek crossing. If they'd run for it, then I think that he would have struggled to regain control without actually using the gun.

I'll say this, he totally breaks the mold when it comes to someone who would commit a crime like this. He has no criminal record, and his first known crime was an incredibly rare double murder of two girls. Over the course of the investigation, law enforcement focused on several other suspects who had backgrounds that one would expect in regards to possibly having done this.

That being said, we have a man who admits to being on the trail at the same time, who just so happened to be dressed exactly like the man in that video. Witnesses corroborated this, and he corroborated the witnesses (I think it was 3 girls he encountered).

In between those bodies, was an unspent round that has markings consistent with the markings produced by Allen's firearm. The science in that regard is not like that of DNA, but it is widely regarded as being solid.

That gets you to the murder charges, and on a personal level makes me more than comfortable they have their guy.

Do I want to see more? Yes. Do I want to hear (in our case read) those confessions so I can determine if he did in fact reveal things only the killer would know? Yes. Do I think he was probably in the throes of mental issues when he gave those confessions? Yes. Will that matter? Only if he could have guessed accurately, or known those things from discovery.

Law enforcement had years to jam up any poor sap with these charges, and plenty of opportunities along the way. The did not. How they got to RA was organic. A misfiled interview was found, and it changed everything. Allen's followup interview buried him. Had he kept his mouth shut and not added the details that gave law enforcement probable cause to search his property (especially his admission regarding the clothing), then we're like still discussing this case until the end of time.

Fortunately that's not how it went down.

I'm still on the fence.

I need more evidence to convince me as I most definitely don't want an innocent person to be imprisoned for life nor a guilty person to walk away free.

To me, Richard Allen putting himself on the trail that day wasn't an admission of guilt, but just him letting them know he was there.

I, however, can't say if he is innocent or guilty - it is up to the jury.

Have to say though that I'm sure most of us would have done the same as him if the LE were looking for anyone there that day as witnesses or whatever.

The unspent bullet I'm not too sure about nor 61 confessions, but am relying on this trial for more answers than questions.

They would have done better going to the local barbeque store. You'd struggle greatly to reach the liver with an oral thermometer.

But seriously, not their job.

Just a sudden thought - I’m wondering if RA had any scratches on that date which he blamed on something else, such as their cat. Another person who noticed may’ve thought nothing of it at the time but later came forward to LE after his arrest. If this happened that would be good stuff to further the prosecution of RA. JMO
