GUILTY Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #219

IMO there is a big difference, when it comes to evidence, between having a jacket like another and having "the" jacket.

Remember when we spent hours and hours looking for a jacket just like his? I don't remember that we ever found one. Same with his footwear. I'm wondering if they used AI for enhancements and that's why we didn't find those things.
I'd be really interested to know if he just happened to "misplace" or lose a blue jacket. And if he ever had to explain it away to his wife. I imagine it wouldn't be difficult to "leave his jacket at work" and really dispose of it and then pretend a coworker had accidently picked it up or something.

After listening to the gut-wrenching audio it just really hit me hard. Yeah, they were scared, and it was upsetting to listen to, but that fear we heard was just a tip of the iceberg. The fear that "some weirdo" was coming would turn to sheer terror in just a matter of minutes. Way more horrific than they, or even I, could have come up with. I just can't let my mind go there.

And why? For what reason? His PLEASURE?!? His selfish DESIRES? What about Libby and Abby's desires and pleasures?? No one should have to go through an experience like that, let alone two innocent young girls out enjoying fair weather on a day off from school.

They had so much to look forward to with their whole lives ahead of them. Graduating high school, their first jobs, moving out, marriage, and children of their own. The possibilities and opportunities were endless. Until all that was cruelly taken away.

Not only did Libby show great courage, but SHE was instrumental in their killer being (finally) caught, tried, and found guilty. While I praise her for that, I'd much prefer that they were still alive and this tragic event had never happened.

They didn’t find the Jacket but Ricky was out on the bridge with a gun and knifes and has been found guilty. The jacket doesn’t matter at this juncture as there was enough other evidence to find him guilty.

i think he surreptiously replaced the jacket in his closet.

I have posted before regarding the jacket but just to reiterate I am convinced it is a carhartt jacket if it hasn't already outright been stated as such. I grew up about 2 hours away from Delphi and live the same distance now and these jackets are basically handed to you in the area from the age of 5 on.

Interestingly enough though it's usually the tan version and not the blue one that I see the most often.

In all fairness, not everyone has good eyesight for distances. It's possible that some were honestly reporting what they saw.
If someone has poor eyesight, they should not be reporting upon the facts of video evidence. Put some glasses on or let someone else report upon those facts. IMO
If someone missed the first 3 seconds of video, they really could have missed seeing him the first time.

If someone 'missed' the first 3 seconds of the video, how can they give their legal opinion upon it ? Sounds pretty irresponsible, imo.
It's too bad for all of us that this judge chose not to live stream the trial.
I think it was a difficult decision and somewhat complicated. But I do understand her reasoning behind keeping it private. The defense had already created a circus and the judge did not want it to be a full blown public clown show. IMO
I slowed the video down to the slowest option and here's what I saw:
.04: he appears
CORRECT---he appears and is right up close behind Abby
.05: he disappears
.06: his legs can barely be seen
CORRECT, but they are visible
.07: he totally disappears
.09 - .010: full view of him
CORRECT, full view of BG
.012: no longer visible

No longer visible because he is right exactly lined up behind an 11 yr old girl. Why does a stranger speed up and come walking up right behind a young girl on a dangerous remote bridge?

It was said by LE early on that they had a lots of blue jackets but not "the" blue jacket. I was really expecting them to have something that made RA's jacket "the" jacket: fibers that matched a tear, blood stains, DNA... but it was just crickets.
I never expected that he still had that jacket. He's had plenty of time to get rid of that. Why keep it?

I remember hearing early on that LG had an opportunity to escape but wouldn't leave AW behind. Now I see what they meant. LG knew something was off so she started filming. She knew they needed to get away from him. AW was much slower crossing the treacherous bridge so RA was able to catch up. Of course, she wasn't going to abandon her friend. So heartbreaking!
Yes !! Very Heartbreaking to watch the video.
I do remember Anna mentioning that Abby wasnt allowed to cross the bridge so perhaps, JMO it was her first time so would explain the slow going across it.

And Mike Patty saying both girls are heroes.. they would not leave each other.

“Both the girls were heroes -- they stuck together,” Patty said. “I don’t know exactly what happened out there that day, but I imagine there was probably an opportunity for one or both to separate or try to make a break, but those girls loved each other. They were good friends -- neither one of them left each other’s side.”

Not surprising after 5+ years that there would be no DNA left on any blue jacket LE might have collected, or perhaps RA got rid of 'the one' at some point, along with the ONE missing phone he was using at that time.

Suspicious to me for sure.

JMO

The snaps have been noted. I saw and correctly identified the p226 in the pocket.

From Day 6 of the trial, I recall the search warrant from RA's house citing a blue Carhartt Jacket. Not saying this was the actual jacket seen in the video but not surprised that a blue Carhartt was located in the entry closet.

Also, the only Carhartt I recall with snaps does indeed have a zipper but it's well covered by the placard so barely visible on a dark jacket. I think the only Carhartt in our house without a zipper is the "Chore Coat" with the metal buttons and button holes down the front.

Day 6 | DELPHI DEBRIEF

Search Warrant is discussed at about the 7:30 minute mark.

Enhanced 43- second video from LG's cell phone is discussed at about the 21-minute mark including the words heard by the reporters from AW and LG before RA states 'down the hill.'

Carhartt

Just listened to the unenhanced 43 secind Libby phone
Video. I watched on YT (GHs) and set the playback speed to 50% and turned up the volime.

Absolutely heard it all.
Also no question it was as a gun rack sound.

The rack, was it just after AW says “Hi," but before RA says DTH, in your estimation? It almost sounds like a stick breaking but seems a bit different.

AW was immediately going down the path after that.

I listened to all of Burkhart, Motta, HTC and MS

It apparently is the unenhanced version of the video as per Wieneke, released by the D. Motta even called Baldwin on his show to confirm it.

Lauren also confirmed it. And you'll see when other people have stablised it, that when the video is stablised, and rotated, that you lose pixels around the frame as it no longer 'fits'

So basically this is the video libby took, extracted by Celebrite.

The explanation of the 'small Bridge guy' I think is apparent from Lauren. She says she missed BG on her first view of it - likely because they were watching on a big screen from far back, and not close up on a laptop screen. So if you don't expect him in the first seconds you might miss him.

Obviously BG never was "too far away" - Lauren has a reconstruction on her show, and you see BG can get to Libby in under 10s

It's really disappointing the conspiracies D tubers created around this video when it is brutally obviously there is only Libby and Abby and the killer Rick.

Nope. No man with good intentions would do that, on a sidewalk, in a supermarket or on a dangerous bridge.
He is rushing them into confusion and panic.
