Also, did she buy that car in full? Seems odd for a 24 year old to be able to do, the car was not old. She must have had a bank account in order to have finance on the car? You can't do anything these days without a bank account.

What was the statement regarding her not having an ATM card?... Was it just "Oh she usually only uses cash" or was it "She does not have a bank account and only has cash"? Because those are two different things imo. She might have a bank account but only uses cash on a night out or whatever as opposed to not having one at all.

I am just going on... moving on...
The comment was from the 'MIL' that she didn't have debit or credit cards. Take a look also at her vision board with her goals. More than a few goals were financial so it seems like she was trying to get on track financially and so was working hard at her restaurant jobs.

Sounds like she really wanted to get her child C*** back. Most of those goals had to do with being a better mother to her.
I think she was on a roll! and felt at the top of her game that night. That’s why it’s so difficult to back away.

Yes, that was one the most heartbreaking things about this case. The 'MIL' said that DV only sees the daughter a couple/few times a week and it was for the visit on Thur that DV didn't show up to see her daughter (two days after she went missing I think). So, this poor 4 year old hasn't seen her mother in weeks and doesn't know or have a way of processing what is happening. For a 4 year old to feel abandoned by their mom has to be hugely tramatic.

That’s what I think the cash was about. Both my girls worked at waitress jobs in high school and in first year college. They made great tips and always had cash laying around. A lot of cash. One was a bartender and made double. PSA: please tip appropriately. It’s very hard work.

It’s heartbreaking. It looks like she was finally getting on track. I wonder if that had anything to do with it. Who didn’t want her to reach her goals?

Absolutely agree. I seriously wonder if the people on the party train wanted DV to change? Were they supportive? Did they care? Why didn't they look out for a friend? Why did they only seem to care about themselves? Why are they hiding and not helping to find DV? Who are they and why is LE allowing them to hide and not be identified. Listen to the questions at the PC. Not one substantive question from the press. Not one. I've watched PC 3x now and each time it seems more and more like a sham. How can the press not be doing its job?

That could be the million $$$ question.

I'm sitting here thinking about what exactly someone means when they describe themselves as a 'street kid'. DV at one point describes herself this way. I think it could mean many things but I wonder what others think. I don't know much about gang tatoos but she had a bunch of tatoos and I wonder if any were gang related?

Makes me wish I lived there. I would make a ruckus about it to LE, to the press, anyone and everyone.

Where is her family? Why aren’t they beating down doors and screaming from rooftops?

I don’t know about her local lingo. But ever since I was a kid on through to being a very old kid. It means to me - they basically were on their own. Not so much literally but they roamed the streets with friends, had little restrictions as to accountability such as where they were, who they were with, what were you doing, when are you gonna be home. Stuff like that, stayed at friends homes a lot, met lots of random people and fit in really well with that crowd, maybe even a leader, I don’t see her as a follower.

At the vigil event when the press were speaking with 'MIL and her husband' the two of them struggled to answer the question of how to describe DV. The husband came up with the word 'spirited' to describe DV and his wife thought a second and agreed that it was a good word to describe her. Wonder how a 'spirited' kid does growing up in a military family around other military people? Must have been tough and rough IMO. The 'MIL' also said DV was at times quiet and lost in thought. Maybe she was restless?

Your take on 'street kid' is curious. I can't see much room for dissent or non conformity in a military world so I wonder what it was like for a kid growing up in that world? I wonder if DV was allowed to roam free as a child and wasn't subject to the rigidity and structure that seems to be such a part of the military world.

I see the possibility of a street kid in her context to be someone who isn't into school, experiments or participates in any alt scene available. This could mean gangs, drugs, music etc. It appears that she did graduate from HS and did attend college in KS for awhile but then she must have gotten pregnant and dropped out. I wonder what she was studying and what she was interested in? Working in food service is hard physical work and not too interesting. I wonder if she read or played video games or liked photography or drawing? Who was she?

My bad. I didn’t even mix in the military element into my comment. So go figure... maybe she was trying to break out and grow into her own. From what I’ve read and there is a lot in these pages (if you can’t sleep tonight, new readers might want to start from the beginning.) Anyway, back on point. I read her as a free spirit guided by left brain creativity probably given to her by her artistic mother. Possibly trying to break through introversion to her true self. I keep staring at her poster. I do a lot of things like that. I can actually see her face glowing as she happily hand write her goals and dreams. Her note about positivity kinda hurts my heart now. I mean, she even wanted to pay her library fees...

No other family other than her mom?
Father? Siblings? Grandparents? Aunts Uncles Cousins?
I feel sad that she was working to get her life together and no family members to band together to be her voice and tell us about her.

Reminder:

Do not sleuth the social media of family or friends or bring anything to WS that you may find there.

WS does not allow naming of minors unless they are the victim (i.e. missing child). Also when referencing children/minors, do not use their name. Please use only initials to refer to them.

Please do not suggest that members stop discussing the case. If LE wishes the public to not discuss it, we would respect that. Until then, it is business as usual in Danniella's thread.

Thanks.

I see your picture of her in my head. I loved the library fee comment too. Seemed like she was working on personal accountability and responsibility. Wonder if she was doing some kind of 12 Step program? Her poster was grounded in the positive and in the future which is why I have found it so interesting.

I wonder if what happened is that her past somehow grabbed her even though she was looking to the future?

It has been suggested that she has family that she is estranged from. We don't know who they are or where they are. The only birth family seen so far and it was a brief appearance was her Mom who lives in NC and is an artist and appears to be retired. Sad that none of the birth family is stepping up to help share this story.

When I was growing up street kids were kids who did not have much discipline. Parents let them do what they wanted, come and go as they please. The fun kids (what I thought as a youngster) my mom would not let me hang out with. Not gangsters really, just had parents who were too busy or self involved to pay attention.

The storm looked like it was a bit of a bust so things should return to normal tomorrow even with all the rain they had. How about tweeting them a question to ask the Chief? We have TONS of questions for the CHIEF!!!!!!!

She looked to be alone. Very sadly alone. Even her friends didn't help her when she needed it most.
