All Sauvie Island Searches

HAHAHAHAHA. All my life, growing up here in Montana......that was "Ollie Ollie Oxen Free!!" i never questioned why we 1) named an ox or 2) called our friends that when calling them in.

I can be taught!

We said that growing up here in Portland as well. My guess as to what that means has to do with pioneers crossing the prairie to Oregon and California. If the oxen took off to graze, it would be the kids who have to go "seek" them and bring them back to camp. I can imagine "All the oxen are free!" could have morphed into "Ollie, ollie Oxen free!" for a hide and seek game.

Anyone else see that connection?

nosysw, I think they edited it out. You can see what originally was said in the Recovery Effort thread.

eTA: or some article was.

Since she's okay, it shouldn't delay the search for Kyron....but you never know.

Kyron Search Coordinator Injured in Crash With Drunk Driver

The search and rescue coordinator for Multnomah County Sheriff's Office is recuperating this morning after an overnight traffic accident
along Interstate 84 that has an Elgin woman facing DUII charges in the county's detention center.

Medics were sent "code three" -- with lights and sirens -- to the area of milepost 18. Olsen was taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries and later released.

thanks for the new thread. I have been questioning this search all week, spinning it over and over, and I can't help wondering why - if this area is so important, why take 5 days off before returning to the same site you already searched? Thats 5 days of weather...5 days of animal traffic...5 day lead for the perp to retrieve the goods and get outta dodge...

Oh wow. And it's supposed to rain a couple inches this weekend.

Hah hah, you gotta be kidding! We're Gore-tex-clad Oregonians! Rain doesn't keep us indoors! I was just thinking of looking into volunteering for the PD so I might get involved.

I think it is because whatever they are searching for "THEY" think has been there for 4 months, so... 5 days doesn't make a difference in their minds now.

Logistics probably make it easier for more searches to help on the weekends also. Searchers probably have time off from their regular everyday jobs.

I hope something is found this weekend that will help this case. I wait everyday to hear that Kyron comes home.

I don't know who members of the SAR team are or what they normally do or whatever but I imagine at least some if not most are volunteers, so maybe Saturdays and Sundays are the only times of the week where they are available to search throughout the day when there is still a good amount of light.

Maybe she was secure in the knowledge that what was done was done, she hadn't left any incriminating evidence or anything that would lead back to her (or so she thought), and she believe wholeheartedly that she wasn't going to get caught. That would make her calm, I'm sure.

Sociopaths can stay calm because it's all data to them and a 'win' versus an emotional response. In her mind, if she is guilty and that's a big IF, I imagine she thought of this as a transaction that had to be made due to the circumstances the that _A()*$##$ KH put her in. She would blame KH for this. If he wasn't such a womanizer/jerk/control freak/lazybutt (whatever justification she'll surely come up with), then she wouldn't have HAD to do what she did.

So when she gets back, she just thinks well, that was a shame, but...who's on FB?! Who's ready for the gym?!

Also, as for the posts about lugging the baby in and out of the truck. IMO she left the baby in the truck, whether she was screaming or sleeping it didn't matter to TH, no one was around to hear or see or we'd have alot more answers.
