Anyone here who has experienced even a mild case of food poisoning knows the pain it can cause.
I had a reaction to some seafood, and it was the worst night of my life.
Felt like I was dying, the pain was indescribable.
Went to the ER and stomach pumped and treated.

So sorry for this man and I hope he will keep recovering .
Is he still in the hospital ?

The host of the lunch, his wife's sister's daughter in law, was found guilty of three counts of murder, one of attempted murder. Life with no parole for thirty three years. Both sides appealing, prosecution wants a longer non parole period, defence wants a new trial or an acquittal or a parade with balloons and puppies, I don't know.

Defense team gonna defense. They couldn't play for the team they do if they couldn't turn off that identifying with the victims thing. It would get in the way of them paying their bills.

Agree. However I doubt that she will show any remorse until after her appeals. No point being remorseful, if she is going down the Not Guilty route for appeal.

If this person all of a sudden demonstrated remorse it would be viewed as an act, or a game play, or a lie. It would be a lie. She has had a long time to demonstrate she gives a rats about anyone else but herself.
But speaking of rats…
Who would have had receiving a a rat from a killer on their bingo card?
She did crochet a rat and sent it to a former lawyer. Projection. Yep. We know who the rat is.
If she wanted to show remorse, someone who was innocent would have been devastated knowing the food she cooked resulted in deaths - Nope no remorse. She said In Police interview on Aug 5th, “but I’ve been really helpful in answering questions by the health department.” The police interview on August 5th is so bizarre knowing that the police had ccTV of her disposing a dehydrator at the rubbish tip, while she sits there saying, “ nup never owned a dehydrator…” the police interviewer just acts like, “ yep just tell me stuff. I’ll trust what you say”. The police interviewer had her sorted totally. I’m sure at this point she’s thinking, “yep I’m going to get away with this… “

He seems to like taking on hopeless cases.

Maybe it’s about getting paid. But I have no idea how this all works.

I think she should be counting herself lucky that she’s in Australia & not countries that advocate the Death Penalty .

Oh, no death penalty in Australia? Just kidding, I know that but her victims went through torture over many days. In my favourite sci fi comedy series Red Dwarf, there is the “justice zone”. What you do to others in the justice zone happens to you over and over. So if you poison people it happens to you.

Why after her appeals? Remorse goes a long way in trying to convince people/ the judge that your sentence was inappropriate, as opposed to arrogance. The "I'm innocent" act won't cut it at this point.
