Australia Australia - Pheobe Bishop, 17, failed to board a scheduled flight from a Queensland Airport. Last seen Airport Drive, Bundaberg, 15 May 2025 #2

What does the irate local have in her hands?

An umbrella ;)

"Footage posted to social media captures the irate local, outside the car, shouting at him while using
an umbrella to prod him awake through the driver’s window."

I came across this snippet from the Daily Mail this morning. Is very odd. One of the titles for the video says something about a Tinder row that broke apart Pheobe’s housemates. But there is no video on that topic and no further information. There is also another title for a video, claiming to be James Wood singing in his car.

I’ve looked at the video several times and I’m convinced it is AI enhanced - so I’m guessing it must be from a TT post, with some kind of filter.

What does the irate local have in her hands?
A beach umbrella! 😆

Snipped
“Wood appeared to have been living in the Hyundai since police released it to him.
'He's here, he's hiding here,' the local yelled, prodding the 34-year-old with a beach umbrella before he sped away.”

There is pretty good mobile tower coverage around Bundaberg, Gin Gin and the Good Night Scrub National Park areas.

Bundaberg had too many towers to list.

That's good to know. Maybe some triangulation will be possible. Get the movements of the phones into more precise positions.

If the housemate(s) took Pheobe to the airport then returned home (or innocently went wherever), there should be no reason their phones were off.

"The housemate of missing Pheobe Bishop was caught on a dating app by his girlfriend in the lead up to the teenager's mysterious disappearance two weeks ago.

In February, Wood had been spotted on Tinder looking for 'short term fun',
prompting Bromley's friends to intervene.

In the profile photo, Wood can be seen in a cowboy hat and aviator sunglasses.

It also states that he is 34 years old.

'Everyone had been telling Tanika he was cheating',
a friend of the former NDIS support services worker confirmed."

Ok, living in bus was prob better than the horrid stinky house if the outside is anything to go by.
Im not suggesting blackmail. Her knowing stuff that could end there freedom is enough reason to kill
Even if they had idea she had no intention paying them or returning, killing her over little $$ is crazy! Why not take some of her possessions as payment. Stealing charge is far better than murder!
I dont think she owed them much if anything,, Living at city dump has to be very cheap!

This argument unless the neighbor herd what was said could be about anything. These people lived very poorly and obviously didnt care about disturbing the neighbors with there fights & loudness.
A 17-year-old isn't going to have much of value to take for compensation for a debt. I have a funny feeling that PB might have lived in the bus; it's not uncommon for these types of couples to say they lived apart to gain extra benefits on social services.

One of the neighbours said they never knew PB lived there and just thought PB was visiting. It does look like someone lives in the bus, as you can see an electrical lead going to the bus in one of the crime pics.

It seems to be a very dysfunctional household; it's hard to say what the motive is at this point, if they did, but they probably did do it. It's usually one of four things when the perpetrator has a full mental capacity: jealousy, anger, revenge or fear of something.
MOO.

Everything matters in this case.
Every element of the puzzle counts.
Every piece of info sheds light on the atmosphere in this house.
The state of mind of all characters in this drama.

The housemate JW seems to behave as if free of anxiety.
The silly song (DM report) proves it.
Isn't it surprising?
What does it say about him?

In my view, there appears to be a disconnect between the vulnerability Pheobe may have experienced around the time of her disappearance and the insights that are now emerging through her communications.

Pheobe’s voice is incredibly important, and it is only recently that extended family and friends have shared text messages that shed light on her state of mind. Two such messages have reportedly surfaced in the media - one sent to a friend and another to her aunt, where she expressed a strong desire to leave her living situation.

For example, Carolea “Caz” Johnson stated on The Project that 17-year-old Pheobe described her living arrangement with Tanika Bromley and James Wood as “a hell hole” she wanted to escape (7 News, 29 May). In response, Pheobe’s mother, Kylie Johnson, disagreed with the portrayal and called the interview misleading (7 News, 29 May).

I believe the details of how Pheobe came to be in that living arrangement are private and, like many families, there may have been challenges. However, from a broader perspective, I wonder whether aspects of the family dynamics may have contributed to a lack of clarity early on, potentially limiting the flow of information needed to support the investigation effectively.

If Pheobe’s living circumstances and experiences were relevant to understanding her disappearance, then more openness at the outset might have provided police, and the public a clearer basis to help.

Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson has emphasized the importance of public input in tracing Pheobe’s movements on May 15, saying: “You may have the small piece of information that leads us to finding Pheobe… People don’t vanish—someone knows something” (QLD Police Media Update, 22 May).

But the girl didn't vanish in the vacuum.

True.

It feels like a strong awareness that he is being watched and giving a performance.

It has been widely documented that Pheobe's mother once employed TB and TB went to her wedding. KJ had not had contact with Pheobe for some time, but I'm guessing she knew she was living with TB.

“Bail conditions prevent the couple from contacting each other”
I would have thought, under surveillance having them together , more of a chance they would “talk about stuff” to help LE uncover more information.
Under the influence of alcohol and whatever else they may take they would slip up .
Having them separated, and if they are involved, they aren’t going to talk about it to anyone .

Interesting, I guess police weren't going to risk a potential DV escalation between the two.

Now he's living in the car. Can't leave town due to bail. Effectively he's in the proverbial pillory with the media and public poking him.

Investigators must be hoping eventually he gets fed up and wanders into the police station and requests to make a new statement.

That clip is not real.

Nothing to do with the case

It's just a newspaper trying to glean readers

Spreading fake news!

I believe Ms Johnson (Pheobe's mother) has been hoping for the best, but has had to come to terms with the worst.
Her daughter has disappeared without a trace. She never boarded the flight which she'd saved for months to afford. She never contacted her boyfriend who she had been so excited to visit. Her phone was switched off one last time. Her bank account and social media have remained untouched.
It's not a stretch to believe that Phoebe is dead, especially when the Police are treating the case as a homicide.
Exactly

People trying to read into things that just aren't there.

I understand physical separation if TB fears for her life. But not even phone lines for communication . 🤷‍♀️. In a drunken rage again always easier to speak more than necessary .

Riddle me this.....
If TB and JW can't have contact with each other since the latest court appearances, and reportedly were somewhat separated prior, why does it appear to be TB's car - the grey Hyundai i30 - that JW is living in? Does she have a car to use? I believe she is currently living in a suburb in Bundaberg, and has to report in to Gin Gin police several times a week if I'm recalling correctly. We did see images of her being dropped off by a friend there, so maybe she doesn't have her own transport now.

According to publicly available reports, Tanika Bromley previously worked for Kylie Johnson - Pheobe Bishop’s mother, at a NDIS support organisation called Smileys Support Coordination. It has been reported that Bromley’s employment with the company ended last year following a redundancy.

Daily Mail Australia has stated it reached out to both Smileys Support Coordination and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, the independent regulatory body overseeing NDIS providers for comment.

There may have been a natural sensitivity around how information was shared early on, particularly given Pheobe’s vulnerability before her disappearance. With her mother involved in a government-funded disability services business, it’s understandable that there could have been concerns about how the situation might be perceived publicly.

<modsnip - off topic>

Pheobe's housemate was once a close friend of mum of missing teen
