I wonder why Police referred to housemates as "associates" of PB?
(Like in the report of PB being dropped off in Airport Drive by associates)

Is it meaningful? 🤔
I might not understand it or its significance
as I'm not an English native speaker.

But for me "associate" means a kind of business connection, no?

But maybe it was meant as
"association by renting" the accommodation?

Well,
it caught my eye, that's all.

I found the quote

"Queensland Police Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson
previously said that the teen was dropped off near the airport
by 'associates'
but didn't enter the terminal."

Collecting soil from a crime scene usually indicates that detectives are trying to match potential evidence from the scene and suspects.

Would be interesting to see if they ever got a match from this soil in comparison to any shoes or clothes with mud/soil belonging to potential suspects

Or that the dirt matches dirt elsewhere that shouldn't be there.

Including the mud from the car

I came across this snippet from the Daily Mail this morning. Is very odd. One of the titles for the video says something about a Tinder row that broke apart Pheobe’s housemates. But there is no video on that topic and no further information. There is also another title for a video, claiming to be James Wood singing in his car.

I’ve looked at the video several times and I’m convinced it is AI enhanced - so I’m guessing it must be from a TT post, with some kind of filter.

Totally fabricated
His palm tattoo showing on his right hand is actually on his left hand and the lip syncing is so obvious. Why would he be singing a song that is obvious on this clip he doesn't even know

Someone lifted this to TT and a newspaper ran with it to glean readers.

So unethical

A young girl is missing and papers are running with false information.

This paper and the Courier Mail with their incorrect car in a video

It's appalling

To deflect that they were housemates. The housemates names came out from the public not the police

Re why they're using the word 'associates' which in my experience is usually used in business terms, is because the media are loathe (or have been requested not) to use the word 'friends' as PB had made it so clear she wasn't OK with these people.

Also they cannot reliably be called 'housemates' as it's unclear who was living where exactly and the property owner probably isn't able or willing to clarify.

IMO the word associates has been landed at and stuck. What I don't like is it does imply business dealings which could be criminal dealings. Unless we find out more, it should be assumed that PB has been the innocent victim of criminal people and not someone involved in a criminal lifestyle and people who were her associates. JMO

Honestly, I never questioned the wword 'associates'. I just assumed it meant acquaintances as opposed to friends with whom she was 'associating'..

Absolutely this. I work in law enforcement and I absolutely use the word associates to differentiate known people to the victim as being in her circle but not close friends.

Maybe TB lied about staying in the bus.
She had been hospitalised for a DV incident. Her kids had been taken off her.
Maybe her income as a supporting parent played a part in the reason she used the bus as her residence.

Lying about living in a bus would be the least of her problem.

Maybe things didn't play out that morning the way it's been alleged.

The word of 2 people at the centre of missing PB, reported they dropped her off on Airport Dve.
I might have missed it - but do we know for a fact that TB was hospitalised due to DV -?
Was this recently? Was there a current DV order ?

I would like to know who else resided in the house.

This just occurred to me. Remember the black duct tape from GNS? I forget whether photos or screenshots from the news coverage BUT…could this black duct tape have come from the same roll that TB and JW refurbished their number plates with?View attachment 591153

Unless they can lift DNA or fingerprints off both samples it would be hard to prove it came from the same roll imo
