Australia Australia - Pheobe Bishop, 17, failed to board a scheduled flight from a Queensland Airport. Last seen Airport Drive, Bundaberg, 15 May 2025 #2

Yes it does contradict, because then we have the text message to her aunt.

“I’m flying the [blank] out of here to see my boyfriend.

“If it goes to plan I’m not coming back … I need to get out of this hell hole.”

That's what I mean, you can't believe much of what's been reported in the media because it's all small town talk like he said she said type of dribble and not from a trusted source like QPS. That's also a text to a close friend.

There still isn't any real evidence that PB got into the car to go to the airport. A small town where everyone knows each other, no neighbours or friends saw her even get into the car or pass each other driving in the streets.

Yes, I would think there is a ton of small town gossip. I grew up in a small country town, and know what that is like.

The only thing that makes me think that Pheobe could have been in the vehicle that morning is that the police may have CCTV of the vehicle (not sure how much CCTV is available in the relevant areas) and can see her in the vehicle at some point. And they haven't redacted their statements about her being 'last seen on Airport Drive' - or not that I have seen.

imo

But there was a ping of her phone there, no?
In Airport Drive.

Does it mean somebody else took it there as a red herring?

But STILL nobody is charged for girl's disappearance.

What is the evidence?

Hmmm....

There are stacks of cameras in the airport car park that face Airport Drive, but I have no idea of where they claimed to have dropped her off. The whole story of her buying the plane ticket is even stranger, I don't even buy daytime tickets to Perth because it's much cheaper to buy a redeye flight. The phone call to WA at 8.00 am was it Eastern time or WA time because they're 2 hours behind Qld?

They could have just taken the phone in the car on its own.

The phone call to WA at 8.00 am was it Eastern time or WA time because they're 2 hours behind Qld?

I wondered that earlier. Was it 8:30am in Qld, so 6:30am in WA? Or was it 8:30am in WA, so 10:30am in Qld?
I haven't seen any clarification, just assumptions that it was 8:30am in Qld.
Maybe the assumptions are correct. IDK

It can't have been 8:30am WA time because that would make it 10:30am QLD time which would be an hour after her flight.

Yes, I realise that.

I just have wondered because it is MSM saying it was before her flight ... the relative said “She didn’t check in for her flight to visit her boyfriend who she spoke to on the phone at 8.30am,” and the relatives have apparently got some things wrong. Pheobe didn't actually speak to anyone.

(And it is only a wondering, not something I would hang my hat on, just to be clear)

I agree but scenario 1 they’ve been on a bender & PB raring to get out of there & they said they’d drive her & she’s worried about running late resulting in arguments in a volatile house - I lean towards this than JW & TB DV in that moment. At home or en route I’m not so sure, there’s too many conflicting info re being seen in the car or on Airport Drive & I think if at home there would be forensic evidence. I agree with your comments re Mum dynamics.

Adding the text messages from the Aunt are compelling when coupled with the text messages to a friend about leaving in 3 days, no recent photos from mum, the appalling place she was living in (and it’s a small town she’d have known) and moving between at a minimum 3 places & looking for work in Yeppoon.

Yeah agree. Unfortunately the facts seem sparse in this case.

I wonder where this statement was published? I can’t find it anywhere.

Investigations are ongoing and police are continuing to run out several lines of enquiry," Queensland Police wrote in a statement on Wednesday morning.

"In addition to investigative work, physical searches will continue as needed and as information is provided.

"The greater Gin Gin area remains the focus of the investigation."

Police are continuing to appeal for information, vision, or sightings of the grey Hyundai ix35 in which Pheobe was last seen travelling between May 15 and 18.”

It often goes very quiet just before police are getting ready to pounce.

I believe there will be arrests soon

I think they have known since day 1 that she is deceased, unfortunately.

The way this case has been handled is very odd. No full description of Pheobe and her suitcase, no mannequin at the airport dressed like her. No public appeal from police showing a mannequin dressed like her on TV. No public televised police conference/appeal from the mother or father, or family for Pheobe to come home.

I also wondered this - if she took the opportunity of being in the car leaving to say her piece, that she wouldn't return, she didn't like x y z. Maybe this enraged them. Also if she had information of any serious crimes they had committed or were planning (per having unauthorised weapons etc) they could have felt enraged and fearful, realised they can't let her go? JMO MOO
I agree. It sounds like JW has a temper, MOO. Which goes with what the Magistrate stated to TB about her being a DV victim. To have weapons like that in a vehicle, coupled with a hot temper leads me to believe PB may not have realized the danger she was in when getting that ride to the airport. Poor Pheobe 😢. She probably was so sick of being stuck with these messy people. My heart breaks for her.

I wonder why the girl didn't seek help in some shelters for troubled youths?

I mean "troubled"
judging by her SM posts which I find very disturbing.

Such shelters give bed, food and job workshops
helping the young to find the appropriate employment.

They are run by local authorities or charities.

I guess she could go to a big city and seek help there,
leaving the heartache of hometown behind.

Being young is an advantage
to have a chance of "finding herself" (quoting PB) in life.

The family

The family have already come out and stated PB had a return ticket

PB said herself in the text message shown earlier that she was going for 10 days.

A one way ticket was purely gossip
It may be gossip but from what we’re finding out about the family, there were some tensions and there’s speculation that PB might have stayed in WA. While theres no solid facts on this, police have not said she had a return ticket, only family have said that, so the reports that she wasn’t coming back are just as valid in this instance.
Both are something to consider in this case.
Unless the police release factual statements, anything is possible.
The problem is we aren’t getting much facts (which is fine) but it’s opened up a heap of speculation. My opinion is the police have lines of enquiries they don’t want compromised.
I think it’s important we trust what LE are saying and be cautious with family/flatmates and friends.
