Australia Australia - Pheobe Bishop, 17, failed to board a scheduled flight from a Queensland Airport. Last seen Airport Drive, Bundaberg, 15 May 2025 #2

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed> ... I can see the home Pheobe was living in with the housemates, bags of trash everywhere and clearly that is not a place fit for anyone to be living in its current, and presumedly recent condition.

Pheobe looks well/normal/clean enough if a maybe little "bohemian" (and certainly nothing wrong with that!) in the many photos of her. She doesn't look like a young person who was mistreated or living rough or anything when those were taken. Yes, she may have gone to lengths to hide bad things, certainly possible. But assuming she was living in some sort of family situation, she doesn't appear terribly neglected, IMO, at least outwardly so.

It would seem everything went poorly once she moved in with the housemates in terms of looking "like she did not belong to anyone." Now if her aunt worked at the same grocery store as the quoted IGA employee, THAT I find VERY curious. For me that would move the conversation from receiving texts from a kid "who had to have her own way, had a big mouth" and whatever else she said about PB to a situation where you really should intervene. And maybe she did and just has not said as much, we also do not know.

Could be in the small town people were afraid of the housemates. TB's record alone is not exactly cuddly. But maybe no one thought they would harm Pheobe. I could also see that, especially if TB does have partial custody of her kids. I'd personally run screaming, but small towns where everyone is related and/or knows everyone, well people also make excuses for some really outrageous stuff too. "Oh yeah they shoot guns, but she's really a sweetheart, Made me the best cookies last time I saw her.: I'm not joking, I have heard stuff like this. Or "He never would do that. I went to school with him, all the grades." Like, I know him/her, they're LOCAL, it will be OK.

SOmetimes it can be less expensive to purchase a round trip ticket, and doing so might allay any suspicions,.

Also, she might have had a ticket with an easily changeable return DATE, so she could have used the return at some future time to visit. Pheobe may also have been hoping she would get to the boyfriend, and have a fairy tale, which he had no idea of. Maybe she hoped they would live together, or simply she would also find some sort of way to support herself in the vicinity? Makes complete sense to me. A young person wanting the hell out of dodge is a rite of passage, even if you're not fleeing a house full of trash and who knows what else.

100% - which makes me wonder: Is it merely a coincidence that whatever has transpired just happened to transpire on the ONE day she was due to travel to the other side of the country? It's one hell of a coincidence if it is.

This ⬆️. This could explain why the ticket was $2,000, which seems high. It could be that she booked last minute and/or it was a refundable ticket that she could either get her money back or use for another future trip as you mentioned. I also agree that she may have thought about not raising the alarms with the housemates by purchasing a one way ticket.

Not sure where you saw the ticket cost her $2000

Where is the link to support that please

Have

Have they released what airline because I'm looking at flights from bris to Perth for $275 with virgin one way

Can fly tomorrow for $313 can fly next week and all the other weeks for $275 why brother paying for a return when you can get there receive a few living away from home allowances or youth allowance then buy the next ticket when cheep

Why fly an expensive air line at that age

I can't understand why she flying from Bundy wouldn't a train be cheaper then saw train to airport

Someone asked in the previous thread about mobile reception in the area.

I'm with Telstra and I find you get a good signal in Gin Gin town, then 5 minutes or so down the road towards Bundaberg I lose signal for about 5-10 minutes drive, then most of the way to Bundy it's good.

Also I recently had a phone call that started in Bundaberg and did not cut off (lose signal) until around 10km from Gin Gin
Pheobe mum has already stated her phone was last "detected " at the airport

Her BF has already stated he answered a call ftom Pheobes phone at 8.30 but there was no communication and it stopped.

The phone has been switched off since May 15

It was mentioned here earlier that her suggested flight was 10.10

One can imagine that a young 17 year old, about to get on a long flight over to the other side of the country and not liking her current surroundings, would have wanted to get to the airport early and sit there texting her BF. That age group are never off their phones.

That's a scenario IF she did indeed get in that car to go to the airport.

Just read this from the boyfriend in WA. That sounds like someone else was texting him. IMO

'Me staring at her dry texts wondering if I did something wrong and not asking cuz I don't wanna be annoying.'

It seems to be speculation. She may have got the flights on a deal. Her boyfriend also may have paid. A lot of speculation about the cost of the ticket with no actual facts

Then Bundaberg to Brisbane would not have been cheap. Regional Australian flights are usually expensive.
It would of costed more than the flight to WA if she got a cheap WA ticket it makes more scenes to get the train also regional flights they are not reliable if it was late or cancelled she would of missed her flight

Wouldn't the bus or train from Bundy to Brisbane be what a Young person would of afforded

Also could the 14th when she used her bank could that of been to withdraw rent money, I can't see the need to make money in cash why what if it's lost or robbed makes more to take ATM card tap to pay for things

Aunty says she flys regular back forth from NSW to QLD growing up so she would be familiar with flying the way alot of people are talking is like it's her first time how exciting she would be experienced at packing a bag checking on and off a flight

I take it as they were texting up until May 15 then after a call was made on Phoebe phone to his number and nothing was said then the call cut

He tried texting her, tried texting again when she didnt show up at her WA destination. He did say he waited for other flights to come in.

His texts go unanswered and he posts up wondering if it's him that did something wrong for her not to be replying back.

A teen who like all teens , are never off the phone.

At that point no one KNEW Pheobe was missing.

Im pretty sure those posts from the BF are after he was aware she was missing. That's how the article reads
