Australia Australia - Pheobe Bishop, 17, failed to board a scheduled flight from a Queensland Airport. Last seen Airport Drive, Bundaberg, 15 May 2025 #2

I wonder where this statement was published? I can’t find it anywhere.

Investigations are ongoing and police are continuing to run out several lines of enquiry," Queensland Police wrote in a statement on Wednesday morning.

"In addition to investigative work, physical searches will continue as needed and as information is provided.

"The greater Gin Gin area remains the focus of the investigation."

Police are continuing to appeal for information, vision, or sightings of the grey Hyundai ix35 in which Pheobe was last seen travelling between May 15 and 18.”

As she was being driven to the airport, Pheobe rang her boyfriend - but he was unable to hear anything before it cut off.

The youth - who Daily Mail Australia is not naming because of his age - told friends that he did not realise anything was wrong and went to the airport to meet her as planned.

But hour after hour, he waited in vain at Perth Airport terminal as flight after flight arrived without her on board.

Queensland Police are 'quite confident' that Pheobe didn't make it to the airport as she never checked in for her flight.

Yikes! So the call to the boyfriend wasn't successful? This sure explains a few things, to me. Poor girl, I think she was injured severely in that car, which continued on Samuel's road, before her body was moved to GN scrub, and then closer to home. IMO only.

It seems I've missed a lot in this case, and I don't seem to be getting notifications. Is there an easy way to follow the thread?

Can anyone point me to the full details about the contact with the aunt, and any further information on her planning to stay in WA and not come back?

I do wonder if she mentioned something on the car ride about leaving for good, either calmly breaking the news to JW and TB, or in a raised voice if a fight broke out. It could have been the best thing for her, a fresh start in a fresh state, with a partner who hopefully had a good family behind him. The start of a life she appeared to be fighting for for so long. Sad that it didn't come to fruition. If she wasn't planning on coming back, that would be her motivation to save for the airfare and perhaps go without food. She had her eye on freedom and a new life.

I also wonder if her boyfriend knew of this plan? Does he live with his parents, have a job etc?

I also wonder why he father wouldn't take her in? And why she wasn't living with her mother of course. It wouldn't be the first time that a mother introduced a series of revolving "step father's" into their child's life, who clashed with the children, especially feisty ones, and made them leave the home. We also don't know what else these men may have done, or tried to do. Maybe she chose to leave because it was better than home? All my thoughts only.

Re PB's state of mind...

Quote:

"The 17-year-old made a separate post on TikTok in which she wrote:

'When I die
get my dad to lower my coffin
so he can let me down one last time'."

I find it VERY disturbing.

I can see in a fit of rage her blurting out she's never coming back and that allegedly causing retaliation towards her. She may have even kept it under wraps until her getting a ride to the airport that she's never coming back. I wonder when she booked her flight in relation to the disappearance.

I also wondered this - if she took the opportunity of being in the car leaving to say her piece, that she wouldn't return, she didn't like x y z. Maybe this enraged them. Also if she had information of any serious crimes they had committed or were planning (per having unauthorised weapons etc) they could have felt enraged and fearful, realised they can't let her go? Sounds like it could be an approved statement that was released to the media only. Probably by the police media person.
I have seen it referenced in a few articles, but never an actual screenshot of the statement (yet).

imo

The family have already come out and stated PB had a return ticket

PB said herself in the text message shown earlier that she was going for 10 days.

A one way ticket was purely gossip

Sounds as if Pheobe's WA school boyfriend is her age, and a minor.

Whereas Bromley is 33. And Wood is 34. Pheobe is half their age.

imo

Much of the info out there contradicts itself.

"Phoebe had been looking forward to her 10-day trip to Western Australia and excitedly told a friend about her plans on May 12

'I've been better but I focus on the good s***,' Pheobe said in response to a friend checking in on her.

'I take of (sic) to WA in three days! Get out of this s**t home for a bit so that will be good, just packing atm.

Asked how long she was going for, Pheobe replied: '10 days beautiful x'".

Yes it does contradict, because then we have the text message to her aunt.

“I’m flying the [blank] out of here to see my boyfriend.

“If it goes to plan I’m not coming back … I need to get out of this hell hole.”

Yes and this is why I have a theory she purchased the return ticket as a safety net for herself in case her visit with her BF didn't go anywhere as far as her feeling she could not stay with them long term.
That way she knew she had a ticket back and not get stuck in WA with no money / income / alone.

It seems the plan was a 10 day trip.

But maybe she HOPED to stay for good.
But it would depend on circumstances there.
Like accommodation, job, etc.

One just cannot suddenly "invite oneself" forever into somebody's place.
