Australia Australia - Pheobe Bishop, 17, failed to board a scheduled flight from a Queensland Airport. Last seen Airport Drive, Bundaberg, 15 May 2025

And I have a question for the locals too,
as I live on another continent.

About the name
"Good night Scrub"???

Like, you know,
Good cleaning before going to bed???

Sorry,
but it was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this name!!!

Sooooo interesting!

Bear with my curiosity, please!
According to local folklore, the scrub was so thick that people could not walk or ride through it.
If cattle escaped into the scrub, you could “kiss your cattle goodnight”.

The scrub (thick, low lying vegetation / bush) was so dense that neither people nor horses could navigate it. If cattle strayed into it, they were as good as gone, and locals used to say you could bid your cattle goodnight.

The Courier Mail and News.com.au have both put out articles showing CCTV footage of the vehicle, however the vehicle shown in the footage appears to be a Kia Carnival or similar, not the Hyundai mentioned before:

From the Courier Mail:

"Vision of the vehicle at the centre of the police investigation into missing Gin Gin teenager Pheobe Bishop has emerged online.

In CCTV footage posted to Facebook, which has since been deleted, a vehicle which appears to be the grey Hyundai ix35 can be seen driving through a backstreet of Gin Gin.
I fully agree! Excellent spotting!!

TB’s car is a 2011 i35 Hatchback…..

"The investigation,
led by Bundaberg’s child protection and crime teams,
now includes officers from the homicide unit.

Thompson noted that police have spoken to numerous individuals connected to the case
and are receiving a significant amount of information.

Bromley and Wood, who are believed to be in a relationship, have been cooperating with police."

It all depends if the phone call was alarming.
I understood she phoned just before the time of boarding.

But I'm not sure about the time of the journey to the airport.

The passengers should be there about 1 or 2 hrs before the flight
considering the queues and all security checks.

JMO
I doubt there'd be much of a queue at Bundaberg to fly to Brisbane. It's a small regional airport.

I live between Gin Gin and Good Night Scrub. About half an hour ago, I saw two choppers head over my place in the direction of GNS. Yellow and blue choppers, like the rescue ones. I checked on FlightRadar, and could see one chopper only, it was slowing down over GNS, but not slow enough to land, it disappeared, I refreshed the page and it was gone.

Have had trouble with FlightRadar before though, it shows planes fine but the choppers pop in and out, so it really means nothing, just an observation.
i think it might have been this one, not sure if related to PB tho 😊 mundubbera ways Burnett river.
