Australia Australia - William Tyrrell Disappeared While Playing in Yard - Kendall (NSW) #79

Re FM's mother and Paul Savage:

Referred to at the William Tyrrell inquest as 'nanna' who was having 'cups of tea' with the foster mother around the time William vanished from her verandah, the woman was never called to testify at the coroner's inquiry into William's disappearance and suspected death.

'I don't know who might have said to her, oh he could have done it, but she'd come over and get in my face and say pointedly "how are you Paul", "what's wrong?", "do you want to talk about anything", "what's going on", and look at me in a sort of way,' said Mr Savage.

'I'd try and brush her off, but she kept on doing it.'

Does anyone know what to expect from the inquest this week?
Chrissy, the Inquest is not on this week. It resumes on the 16th December and goes until the 20th December, 2024.

You can check on the Coroners Court website for upcoming Inquests….

I take anything he says with a grain of salt. Having said that l wouldn’t blame her for asking.

What a schmozzle the initial search control was. Hundreds wandering the street, "p i s s e d (drunk) idiots" yelling for William, cars - and even a caravan - not checked as they entered and left the street, things stolen from residents vehicles, horses trampling the FGM's front lawn, people walking all over that lawn ..... (as per locals that Dan spoke with).

This. What a mess from start to finish. Just mismanagement all the way down the chain and back up again. I sure hope NSW Police has learned some lessons (certain other NSW government departments as well) but I have doubt. JMO

Is that it then, five more days in December and then it’s all over.
Doesn’t sound like its going to end with a bang, just a whimper.

‘Debacle’: Inside the first search for William Tyrrell

Witnesses recall the “bedlam” as people and cars flocked to the scene on the day William Tyrrell vanished – potentially destroying key evidence.

A police inspector arrived about 11.40am to command the search, instructing officers to scour nearby homes, requesting support from the State Emergency Service (SES) and later calling for detectives to be sent to Kendall.

During the criminal investigation police interviewed more than 260 different people, and canvassed hotels, motels, and caravan parks within a 10km radius.

Yes l believe she said soon after her husband died. Not after William went missing though.

Yes, by previously I meant prior to William's disappearance.
Given that she (and other women) considered him a pest I find it odd that she would repeatedly venture across to Savage's property for any reason, let alone to 'get in his face' and pester him.

Methinks that he could be imagining this story -- to put it kindly.

I think they might each have been overreacting to harmless behaviour because they were grieving. I had intense suspicious and out-of-proportion reactions when that was me. I said to my psychologist that I didn't know paranoia was a stage of grief, and she said "people don't" and agreed that it was true.

PS gave lots of conflicting evidence ( just like the FM has ) & I do agree that grief & trauma has affected them both with memory re-call of that morning & days after IMO

Who was PS grieving? His wife was still alive when he was turning up at FGMs uninvited.

I'm saying that FGM perceived his turning up as something outrageous because she was grieving. But as to PS, it's possible he was also grieving his wife in the months before she died; that might even have played into his harassment of the postie.

I think that’s really reaching and downplaying the harassment and subsequent AVO against him for his continued unwanted attention towards the post lady. There’s no excuse for what he did to her, especially when he went on to breach the AVO. He’s shown what he is capable of so no doubt that’s why FGM was uncomfortable

I have to wonder if this is why Jubes says that sister was the last known person to see William.
It also might explain why some old articles say FM made the tea, and others say FGM made the tea.

Interesting going back and looking at the quotes from the first police.

Superintendent Paul Fehon .... "“Our starting point is approximately a five-minute window when young William walked around the side of the house into the backyard and disappeared from sight while his mother and grandmother went inside for a cup of tea. We are still at that point."

I really find the 'who made the tea' thing very trivial.
If I was sitting with my mother and not having to rush off I might enjoy a couple of cups of tea which either one of us or a combination of us might make.
The process of making tea is usually more than one step and who actually 'makes' it is arguable. Who put the kettle on? Who poured and let it brew? Who actually puts in the milk and perhaps sugar and delivered it? At what point in the process can you pinpoint William as actually missing?
One could be in and out between each step or one could start it and one could finish it, he was playing and running around and then nothing. Not sure why so many are hung up on it being a huge discrepancy in the story.
Actually my mother would probably make it all, in a pot, because she says I make terrible tea and it has to be made a certain way.
Information which is as useless and trivial as this whole 'who made the tea' argument is. Did they have a biscuit I wonder?

I think it's v. important in regards to what she has told people what happened in the 1st couple of days and in contradicting statements she has made later publicly and to the police. Every detail surrounding WT's disappearance needs to be examined and nailed down as best as can be expected. MOO
