They are not vulnerable young people. They made a conscious decision to get involved with smuggling . No one forced them to fly from Britain to Thailand. They were lured by the chance to earn money to fund a materialistic life style .
"British teenager held in prison in Georgia on suspicion of drug offences
has been described as
'not far from childhood'
by her new lawyer.
Mr Salakaia said Miss Culley was in 'good health'
but he would not describe her as
an adequate adult.
The lawyer,
who does not speak English and specialises in juvenile law,
has been communicating with his client using a translator.
Their first meeting lasted two hours.
The 18-year-old was also giving evidence to Georgian investigators."

Bella May Culley not 'far from childhood', new lawyer says
The 18-year-old, from Billingham, has had her first meeting with her new lawyer in Georgia.www.bbc.com
Agreed. She knew exactly what she was doing and where she was going. She could easily have used her phone to find out information about Georgia. This same article mentions that
The BBC understands Miss Culley arrived in Tbilisi on a flight from Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates, on 10 May.
Impossible she did not know what she was doing IMO
Actually thinking about it ,she probably would not have been able to find it on the map ,the general knowledge of some youngsters is extremely poor . A young teacher in a school I was in thought children needed a passport for a trip to the Isle of Wight . The school was in the South of England so less than 60 miles away.According to reports, Mr Salakaia (her lawyer) had to explain her geographical location to Bella during their two-hour meeting.

UAE stopover? Did this doofus get off the plane there, in that skimpy beach outfit? Clueless, knows zilch about other countries and cultures, and couldn't care less either. Lucky she wasn't arrested for "indecency" let alone for the drugs there. She was likely flying Air Arabia, which is a low-cost airline whose hub is the Sharjah airport. The airline has direct flights to both Bangkok and Tbilisi.
I can only say that she's very lucky that she wasn't caught during her stopover in the UAE. They do not take kindly to drug smugglers.
