Ah, okay, he's had mercy on me now. So I've said something wrong and should have alerted a moderator about my post? I am very sorry though, I didn't read the rules and so didn't actually know I'd done something wrong and so couldn't alert on it. I am going back now to find the rules and read them and sorry again for whatever it is I did.....

Zwiebel, you said nothing wrong.

Thank you, suzyq211! WS Admin now have 276 thank you's instead of 275 because I've just been back and read through all the rules. I still couldn't find what I'd done wrong though.

The trouble is, this is such a unique case it is hard to apply any normal rules. After all, how often does LE rule out any stranger involvement from such an early stage? And with a victim with such a small circle of close friends, relatives?

With all the talk about transparency in this 2012 presidential race, I have to think that if there had been a bit more of that in the beginning of this case perhaps people wouldn't have been suspicious of family involvement.

  • #765
Well, suzyq211, there was one rule I skimmed over - because I just knew in advance I hadn't posted too much information from Bob's facebook page.

What information??;-)

Remember the daughters were posting on the FB page as if Mr. Harrod were alive and writing the posts himself?

Examples:

Robert Harrod: Hi Paul,

You are my best friend and I miss you too.

Robert Harrod: Please help find me and bring me back home.

OMG. that is completely horrifying. I must have scrubbed that out of my brain.

believe09, so glad you arrived to remind me of where we were because I'd completely lost track! So there's no problem with me answering Allusonz's post, because I did have an answer of sorts?

Just because they have ruled out a stranger abduction does not mean that it is family. It could be a neighbour, a repair person, et al. The list is endless.

Think of the number of friends you may have on a facebood account. It does not mean you know them well, just that they are not a stranger.

Think of children in a school. I may know the parents, or the children, maybe even by name. It does not mean they are family.

Or it could be family. Or it could be non blood family.

I am certain that your response will add zest to this discussion-absolutely.

At the end of the day, the heated family meeting is a catalyst I cant ignore. Because less than 24 hours later, Bob was gone. He didnt leave under his own steam. He isnt out living it up. Even his immediate family has made it abundantly clear that he was not coming back, and they signaled that very early on.

The meeting was about money. Family money. Not about who external to the family had been receiving it, apparently. It was about trust money. RB and PB found out that they were successor trustees, not JuM. People got to find out what was written in that trust doc and they had a chance to react to it. And apparently there were people who were angry.

Less than 24 hours later Bob was gone. He wasnt cooling off somewhere.

The background and the actions following this disappearance will help determine where he is if you think that someone close to him took him.

Thank you Believe. Seriously, if anyone looks at this whole thing there is only one reasonable explanation.

And let me add I don't believe this was ever about their love for Georgia, or Bob being an awful father and husband. I think it's always been about money.

He did go grocery shopping correct? That means he probably knows of people in the store. Are they family?

He did have doctors appointments. That means people in waiting rooms, receptionists, nurses etc. Are they family?

He was active in the masons up to a certain point. Does that mean they are family?

He probably had to have repairs (furnace, a/c) done over the years. Does this mean that they are family?

I know the number of people I had involved in my life as my mother was ill over a number of years. Did I know of them? Yes. Did I have alot of interactions with them? You bet I did. Does that mean they are family? No they were not.

We are talking therapists, social workers, support personal from a wide variety of places.

These are people we know of in our daily life, such as a bank teller. They are not strangers. They are as well not family.

With all due respect, I do think in this particular case LE deliberately excluded passing strangers such as store workers or people you might meet in a doctor's waiting room. All the evidence I can see so far indicates that Bob had a very, very small circle of people close to him. The majority were bio family. Another was a neighbour, another was his new wife. Both were many, many miles away on the day he disappeared.

If you have ideas that I'm missing I would be really glad to hear them because my first interest is not actually in catching whoever is responsible. For highly personal reasons I just hate the idea of a person disappearing as though they never existed and people assassinating their character after they have gone. I really, really cannot stand it and this is the only time I have seen it to this extent since my own aunt disappeared. I just really want Bob to be found, that's all. I don't much care where or who I look at either - I have faced the inconceivable before.

ETA: I didn't intend to quote SuzyQ's post here too! Sorry!

Sorry SuziQ, your post was quoted along with Allusonz's! No idea how I did that!

Respectfully snipped-your experience is what has energized us beyond the frustrated waiting stage....all of this is about Bob being found and being brought home to the people who love him.

Very well said, thank you!

Robert Harrod:' You are my best friend and I miss you too. Please help find me and bring me home.'

That's a child jumping into her dead father's shoes and gleefully, vindictively, using his voice as a weapon to hurt someone else. I think she does not know yet that the missing are not really ever silent and their voices can't just be taken up, used and discarded at will. One day Bob will be brought home and he will tell his own tale. She will have to listen then.

I just hope the pain for her, and those she holds dear, will not be too much to bear.

I don't think your natural position is five minutes behind, zweibel! Quite the opposite in fact.

Yes, cordless phones have memory (think speed dial and phone books and caller ID etc- these are all things that are stored on the phone- and often on the network) and it can be retrieved in several different ways.

Clearly I am still on my phone kick!

Sorry, just to make sure I'm there....so a phone call at say 11.30, answered downstairs because Bob was up and about because his SIL was there working, that would seem fine. A call around 11.30, answered from the bedroom, especially the bedroom adjoining the bathroom being repaired, ummmmm? You might think that a little unusual, being as Bob found it pretty hard to get around and would probably have pretty much stayed downstairs once he was up, until it was time to go to bed?
Am I anywhere near, or have I just proved I'm ten minutes behind everyone else rather than five? Lol!

Bumping a few posts-BRB with Cubby's memorabilia list post with links...
