Respectfully snipped and bbm. This is the first I've seen that JeM suggested Bob may have become ill. Let me get this straight.

JeM believes his father in law may have become ill, but doesn't drive directly to his son's home minutes from Bob's home. Instead he drives more than an hour home and his wife reports her dad missing to Bob's new wife 9 hours or so after Bob was last seen.

Additionally, JeM suggests Bob might have forgotten an appointment when Bob's car never left the driveway? Did Bob have any appointments he attended without a car?

All this from the handyman with the spotless vehicle.

Uh, huh. Riiiight.

Two more for my list! So far I have; JeM (son-in-law) thought/told people:

Bob had gone to visit a neighbour
Bob had got into a suspicious car
Bob had felt unwell
Bob had an appointment

AH, JeM's son, saying;
Bob had probably left to get away from family problems
It wasn't like Bob to leave without telling anyone

Those of you with sharp eyes will have noticed AH's two comments are a direct contradiction of each other. You may be thinking he's inherited that odd little trait from his dad. Imo, you'd be wrong. It's from his mom, pure and simple.

Perhaps someone else would care to post details of JuM's timeline of events? I have the list, but it gives me a headache just typing it out.

There is clearly something wrong with me because I think it is funny that his car was clean.

Sigh-that must have caused some serious red flags for LE.

Wait till Oriah gets here. The whole thread will positively glow bright scarlet.

One of the red flags in the Summer Inman case was that the car was 'too clean'. Normal things were NOT there (fingerprints/DNA etc.)

btw - I wonder if there were dog hairs in JeM's vehicle?

Not sure I am comfortable calling. I feel I would come of sort of Gladys Cravitzy? lol But yes, if anyone has a way to reach out to the detective via email I would be willing to pass along my thoughts.

tlcya, you think you have a problem. I have a name that causes people to reply, 'Sure, and I'm Sherlock Holmes' and hang up. Or they break into peals of laughter and launch into a well-known phrase. It drives me crazy. And that's just calling ordinary people. If I were to call LE.....well, no way.

We already have our dear Mrs Kravitz in Bob's case...thank goodness for observant neighbors! :D

I was just thinking of all the legal 'facts' we have sometimes been absolutely deluged with in this thread. And now tlyca has cut through all the brush, made a simple point that seems obvious now (but wasn't before) and hey presto, we have a tip that might help LE. And it's gone to the right place straight away, thanks to co-operation and support and a bit of confidence.

People are great sometimes, just great.

okey dokey, email successfully sent. Hope I don't come off as some kuckoo

Dear Detective:

Thank you for your work on Bob Harrod’s case. I have been following this case from afar, in XXXXXX, and so appreciate the fact that someone aside from his widow, Fontelle, is still interested in finding out what became of Bob. I realize how difficult the task of dealing with cold cases can be for law enforcement and have tremendous respect for those who serve and protect.

Recently ID channel’s “Disappeared” featured Bob’s case on their show and I note from some of your statements that you feel money may be at the root of this case. I could not agree more.

if the estates of Bob and Georgia were structured as I imagine they were with their estates rolling into a bypass trust controlled by the surviving spouse, then the adult children/heirs would receive nothing til the time of Bob's death and his estate was distributed through the probate courts.

However, by marrying, Bob threw a monkey wrench into that possibility. Bob married Fontelle. Now if he dies, even if his will has not been changed to provide for her, she could conceivably tie up the estate (with no access for anyone to money til it was resolved) by challenging the will in court. Especially if he had made it known it was his intention to alter his will and other finances after marriage in order to provide for her.

So Bob's disappearance in that regard worked out perfectly in such a manner as to allow the children to seize control of the trust in his absence by conservatorship. In this manner, Bob is not dead so Fontelle cannot challenge his will or make a claim against his estate as his surviving spouse. The children have control of the money.

This right here, in a nutshell explains to me why Bob's family, aside from his widow, seem uninterested in figuring out what happened to Bob or having his case solved. As long as Bob's status does not change from missing to deceased its as if they received the benefit of both the parents estates without Bob being officially dead and without Fontelle having a legal claim as his widow with which to challenge his will.

Anyway, I appreciate your time and am very glad to know that Bob’s case is still on your radar and wish you success in eventually solving this case and providing Fontelle with some closure.

Very truly yours,

BBM. Bob went missing on Monday, July 27. So JeM was interviewed by police 4 days later, on Friday, July 31? I wonder what he did in those 4 days?

I think is possible he was interviewed earlier but on Disappeared, they focused on him being interviewed on the Friday.

Not a cuckoo. Maybe a little wolfish, on the scent of something very interesting? Not a bad thing, imo.

What's the name of a public prosecutor over your way? A DA? I hope that's the office where your email eventually ends up, anyhow. I'm sure Det Radomski will happily make arrests when the time is right. But those DA's need lots of info too, don't they?

:what:
Wait a minute-the car was clean? After his small jobs? Isnt he a contractor and fisherman? :waitasec:

I was thinking that when they talked about it being clean, it was in relation to a crime. Not that it was tidy etc. They didn't say that bobs DNA was found in the car but did say that if it was, it wouldn't be unusual as he travelled in it often.

That's interesting either way to me. Either because JeM wasn't interViewed for four days, or because he was reinterviewed after four days because....?

That's interesting too, because Bob's neighour said when daughter JuM and SIL JeM visited Bob, they always came in her car. I don't know if LE had talked to neighour when the program was made though. He complained about that on his blog.

Wonder when it was that Bob got to travel in son-in-law's car?

You and I have been on the same page since yesterday. Between the cancellation of the show here and airing of the show in Australia, and thinking tlcya's post would make a nice portion of a pros opening statement.

I'm just amazed at all of this.

You and me both, Cubby. You know how I always worry about the worst scenario, and hatch plans for how to anticipate it and be prepared?

So Bob's program being pulled was no surprise. I 'knew' that one was going to happen. I'd prepared for that. But when that first post popped up from Australia, then the second? Not even my wildest worries could have prepared me for that one.

I'm so glad Bob's case went awol to Australia though. What a helpful, caring bunch of people. And known for their straightforwardness and straight talking too. Exactly what Bob's case needs. When 'Disappeared' fell apart, it couldn't have fallen into better hands.

To answer my own question- The trial regarding hairdresser was on March 28, 2012. The ruling was on April 6, 2012.

Interesting. It would be poor form on the co conservators part if they opted to libel her anyway, knowing the outcome of the trial.

Perhaps they had no idea and thought they would prevail. I suppose that I might have called the producers upon finding out the judge's thoughts so that they might re shoot that portion of the show. Just sayin.

Ball is in your court, BL.

Perhaps it is all that they have. If the hairdresser didn't do it well.............

  • #718
I'm going to stick my neck out now and say I don't think the hairdresser did it. It may be a very commonplace thing to 'disappear' people in California who choose to give a person money, so they can't give out the money anymore.......but I haven't been able to find the cases.

I've found a lot of cases in California where the exact opposite of the above applies though.

This whole thing is so bizarre! The released and pulled clip, the changed date (twice!) then the release of a IMO censored version in Australia?? What is going on?

I don't know, suzyq211. But I really feel a momentum building up. Something is going to break in this case soon, I really believe it.

Those who should have come forward before have left it too late. They're on their own now.
