We know from the video of Mrs. Harrod's arrival to CA, there was some street construction on Bob's street in the immediate area of his home.

Is there a way we can find out when that construction work on Carnation began and ended? Was there work being done on Monday the 27th? And if so, have those construction workers been asked if they saw anything suspicious?

Or perhaps, if they were working, LE did speak with them and were able to confirm none of them saw the suspicous black suv?

I'd really love to find the start and finish date of that road construction. Any idea's on how we can find it? Any locals willing to do the research if we can't the start and finish date online?

I think it might be on here somewhere:

BBM~~~

Yes, I agree.

Remember on another forum some of the posters called Georgia " the REAL Mrs. Harrod"? Daughter PB posted back.

8/19/2010 PB:
Thank you so very much for the Birthday wishes for the 'REAL' Mrs. Harrod and she was such a character and loved everybody and was quite entertaining. She was our Mom and a very special lady and our Dad obviously saw a lot in her for them to have stay married for so many years.

Thanks again.

I find the above post interesting. The post is dated 23 days after the 1st anniversary of their fathers disappearance, which they basically did not acknowledge.

I think JuM's polygraph would be inconclusive due to the prescribed pyschotropics.

and if they were and are lawyered up, they would be advised not to take one.

Just want I want! Except it's the wrong year....

http://www.octa.net/pdf/2010AllocationSummary.pdf

The above link doesn't have the date the project started and the date of completion. I'd really like to know if those same workers who were working on Bob's street when Fontelle was greeted by Bob's daughters, were also their on Monday when JeM was doing 'odd jobs' around Bob's home.

I'd also be interested in learning the name of the company who did the work. It would be nice to be certain they are aware of Bob's missing persons case and that they may hold key information as to what occured the day/week Bob disappeared.

She's angry she can't undo the damage done by herself, her husband and her son, and there is really little she can do to divert the attention off of them with so many unanswered questions surrounding their own actions.

Bumping Angelo's post because I think an obsessive possessiveness about 'things' has been shown too, as demonstrated in daughter RB's post above. Along with a total unwillingness to acknowledge that Bob could have any sort of life independant of their mother. RB is stressing the 'our' parent's family home, yet her mother had been dead getting on for nearly one and half years by then.

They wanted him preserved in aspic, imo. To stop existing right when their mother did. It's as though they somehow resented Bob for staying alive after his first wife passed and saw it as a kind of abandonment or betrayal of her.

Bob crossed a line with daughters there, imo. And the poor man had no idea he had done it.

yes, yes, & yes.

I did not see a reaction to the tv program..must have been in the wrong thread because I was really looking for it & the lead up to it.

I still find the motive as Fontelle difficult to digest; unless I combine it with the money irregularities of ARH. That is a secret his parents would urgently want to bury & reason for the other 2 daughters to want control of the trust, estate and assets.

Why not wait and disappear Fontelle instead?

Just pondering..and without my morning coffee yet! oh my! ;)

btw, I have never heard the phrase "jumping the shark" before.

and fwiw, I noticed furbabies is misspelled in the tags.

BBM. For myself, I see the cost of a second marriage as motive. Second marriage being the key, not the person who Bob married.

....Perhaps Georgia was more a home body and she and Bob didn't do to much traveling, etc. If Bob had spoke of plans to enjoy another 10 years or so traveling and being more active with his second wife, traveling back and forth between CA and MO.... as well as the possibility of either of them having a long term illness such as that which Georgia had, well that all costs money.

Money that would have been depleted from their expected windfall. Especially after having just learned they weren't entitled to any of it until after Mr. Harrod passed.

The "real Mrs Harrod" is still the real Mrs. Harrod. Even today. What a rubbish post. And incredibly defensive-"Dad must have liked our Mom too, you know." That is how I read this post.

Of course he did. He cared for her while she lay ill. He mourned for her, he had children with her, he built an estate worth millions of dollars which he shared with her.

By his own words, however, Fontelle was his long lost love. The girls knew about her and PB claims she helped her father look for her around Christmas after Georgia died.

I wonder if that stung, or if PB would have done anything at that point to see her father happier?

The house was definitely opened and being aired on 7/28/09-it appears to me that the principals who were interviewed and shown on camera both days had a glow to them that typically means heat and high humidity. :)

I think TWD is onto something with the questions regarding AH. At least imo. But I dont think that this excludes the person who last saw Bob alive (JeM) and the person who trapped JeM in a pickle with the timeline, JuM.

No offense meant to Fontelle, it was a sort of short hand in an awkwardly worded sentence.

I reckon I cannot fathom that kind of greed. Covetiness, jealousy, angry disappointment..yes, even a loyalty to the first Mrs Harrod...but not to the point of homicide.

I am still on the fence whether it was pre-planned or a crime of passion.
Why I would like to know if there is any history of domestic violence or other crimes on record.

If Bob paid $15,000 each to be left alone..would the daughters have asked him for a payout on their shares at that family meeting? and been soundly refused.

Believe,

I just feel so strongly about this:

From what I recall of the deposition of ARH...there is a few hundred thousand dollars missing. No way did Bob put out a mortgage for nearly twice what the property was worth and nor did he suggest it to ARH. and then large loans on top of that?

As someone here likes to say (and a fave saying of mine)...."That dog don't hunt."

To me, this would absolutely not exclude JeM & JuM, in fact in my mind it would put them smack dab in the thick of things. Their only son would be looking at some serious prison time. I haven't yet looked up the state code for identity theft or other applicable violations. But I do know it isn't a slap on the wrist or a misdeamenor. What would JuM do to prevent her son from being a jailbird???? a felon?? a convict??
Just about anything, I think.

And if it also helped preserve her sisters's shares of the estate, then she has saved them too.

In her mind she has saved things from total ruination.

Grandiose and psychotic thinking, yes.
But she is wired that way imo.
I have seen so many hints of it.
I refuse to stigmatize mental illness and as I have said, I also have bipolar, but I would be remiss not to state that it is an illness of extremes. Extreme moods and emotional states and runaway, racing thoughts.
For example, last summer, something triggered me and I became angry and then irrationally angry and then as full of rage as a bubbling volcano. It took on a life of it's own and I could not stop it. I did not act out on it, except to spend about 5 days sitting on the sofa letting it run it's course and avoiding people...because I knew I was out of sorts and it was the illness. and I live in a no stress, no drama home. Managing and reducing stress is as important as taking my medications in managing my illness.

I would characterize the situation as I have outlined it as enormously stressful to JuM.

And add rage amongst the daughters that Bob has "replaced" Georgia with a new wife.

OT....Bob did take his family on annual vacations to Tahoe and they enjoyed socializing locally. I believe that post.
He had all ready taken Fontelle to meet friends.

There's so much more to read, ponder and learn..but this part of things, I believe.

BBM. Because they couldn't control Fontelle's family. They would have searched for her and probably raised quite a huge stink. Far easier to get rid of Bob and then attempt to do damage control.

Mel....who is surprised we don't have a new thread already

I finally got to watch the show again!

Something that stood out to me this time around was the part where they recreated Det. Loomis questioning JeM. At about 24:40, while holding two receipts, she says to him, "So you went back to get these items and got the second receipt?" And the person portraying JeM replies with a yes.

(Quote to the best of my ability with being new to navigating the xbox controls)

That confirms our thoughts that JeM provided a morning receipt from a convenience store and then the only other receipt he had was for about 6 hours later in the middle of the afternoon.

The glaring question, well the newest as there are many, is what happened to the receipt from the first trip out to the 'hardware store'?

  • #1,534
I would have thought both trips to the hardware store - if it was Home Depot - could have been confirmed by LE through the checking they said they were going to do of surveillance. Whether Jeff produced a receipt or not.

I wonder if they did, and confirmed that JeM was there? I would have thought LE would have had a massive problem with him if he said he was there but didn't appear on the surveillance tape. Could it be he did make the two trips there, but didn't produce a receipt for one trip because he didn't want LE to see what he had bought?

I have spent all day searching for details of the street maintenance in Carnation Drive by the way. I've trawled hundreds of tedious pages of minutes and schedules and come up with nothing. It wasn't the synchronization of traffic signals, I know that. And there were 10 major road improvements in Placentia that year, but Carnation wasn't one of them. The work done that day must have been one of the small improvements scheduled for thousands of miles of streets that year, but which I can't find any details for.

The work could have been carried out by outside contractors or the City of Placentia Public Works Dept, I believe.

That information might be available through a FOIA request for a copy of the contract. Some portions may not be releasable, but other portions such as company name might be releasable.

I spent all day tracking construction workers and got nothing. And I'd spent all night tracking whoever hacked a completely innocuous page from my website. Only to discover it was me, updating from the wrong computer that had never had that page put on it.

I am feeling a little disheartened at the moment, but I will bounce back.

I never thought about ARH, his financial shell game, and the sensitivity that might have arisen as a result. TDW, it makes far more sense than you know. ARH is an eggs in one basket baby-he is handsome, genius and more according to his proud mom. Which is nothing unusual as most mom's feel their children are gifted.

OK, well he falls in line behind the furbabies as she has posted time and time again, but no matter.

I would think that there would be a powerful drive to protect him if something might be brewing that would threaten his stability.

And yes there are hundreds of thousands of dollars that ARH cannot remember where he happened to stash them.

Bounced back. There are some good construction worker unions, aren't there? Maybe they can help.
