Because Fontelle was due back the next day, I've always felt Bob was alive when he was disappeared. Less of a mess that way.
BBM Yes! I've wondered if Bob even woke up on his own that day. I like Cubby's theory that maybe he was given a little something to make him drowsy. And someone else added to that Bob was convinced to go along on one of the son inlaw's trips, and the son inlaw took a little detour on the way.
My own thoughts aren't so generous. I feel he was wrapped in a sheet, forced in the truck, and left out "wherever" to die. I think this is a brutal clan - and this is reinforced by their treatment of some of the animals that showed up in the Michael's backyard a couple of Autumns ago. Julie posted on that at Rim Of The World. I'm suspicious of the phone calls on that day, and if anyone really spoke with Bob. I'm very anxious to hear about the phone records.

Since forensically there is nothing to show foul play inside the Carnation house, what if JeM got him to leave on the pre-text of getting something for a repair and then passed him off to one of the other family members who did whatever to him??? Either AH or his loving wife? That would also answer for why there was nothing in the Ridgeline either. Just trick Bob into getting in the vehicle with him, then take him to someone else and pass him off. Then he goes about his business and gets receipts proving he was taking care of business. It could have been right after Bob got up and got dressed and before he was able to make his bed.
