Respectfully BBM

Even though Bob's body hasn't been found, I see a couple of things that have served them well.

Andrew has the big burden of that house/loans from Bob off his shoulders, and was given a "restart" in life. Paula's rent is coming out of her share of the trust. Paula and Roberta no longer have to work (according to Andrew's depo.)

At this rate, they'll have it spent before any declaration of death is made.

I have pondered this myself for a very long time because it is beneficial to the co conservators if he is found. They will legitimately have access to the money as in with no oversight. Unfettered access.

It could be something as simple as there is some aspect to his murder that will provide direct evidence of who did this. It could be that they want it to go away-just go away so they can be left alone to live their lives and pretend their father wasnt murdered and ignore how his money came into his hands. :dunno:

I dont believe that any of them are stupid and I think they have benefited in several ways. One of them is to have your father disappear during a cash strapped time for municipalities. No body cases are expensive to prosecute and while OC has a stellar record in that regard, the funds have to come from some where. Fortunately you cannot benefit from a crime like this so those who are in the sites of LE will lose everything that is left when the day comes.

I have to say that while it would be nice to get some justice for Bob, I personally just want him to be brought home to Fontelle.

I think that is the plan, dont you?

Oh my gosh. It would be bad enough to lose money you were due to receive - imagine being asked to pay it back after you'd already spent it!

Never mind, I'm sure AH could help out anyone needing advice about how to go about getting a big loan.

I wanted to address the idea that Bob is in hiding to see if his kids and Fontelle were only around for his money. I can see him doing this to his daughters because of the way they've behaved, the letters sent to lawyers, the demands for accountability made by them, but he would never do that to Fontelle. Not Fontelle.

They just got back together, he would not waste 4 years of time spent with her to see if she was only around for his money. He would NOT do that to Fontelle. At 81, time is precious and they lost so much of it already, he would not want another day to be burnt or wasted in any way that he could have spent with his beloved Fontelle. IMO, JMO, MOO.

Believe, thank you ever so much for taking the time and doing the work to find those excerpts. It is time consuming work and I am grateful to you.

Deca, so well put....getting that number of people to even agree on dinner :)
I was really hung up on that myself. It was when I recognized that all 3 daughters only show contempt for their father and all that means and implies that I sadly came to accept that yes, the family has circled their wagons together and all have reasons they do not want or care for their father being found. They just want the whole thing to go away.

JuM isn't the only one who would not lift a finger on her father's behalf.

I think there is a certain, invisible element of blackmail in the collusion of the whole family. Each has a stake in keeping things status quo (if only they could get rid of Fontelle tho...the thorn in their side)....but all would be effected, like the domino effect, if any one person got really honest.

I want it ALL tho. I want Bob found and I want all involved prosecuted for their part.
I believe that will happen.
Every day I hope that today will be the day that the cracks will begin to open and bring down this house of cards.

I don't think they are all so much smart criminals so much as silent criminals.
If they were so smart...why not organize searches in the wrong areas????
rather than be so conspicously absent in care and concern for their father??
That silence draws attention to them.
Or say things that are clearly odd and inappropriate...or worse.??

They do not have to be in physical condition to search themselves in order to organize a search. That excuse doesn't wash.

Every time I think of the time of the initial decision to just go along with things and that it is remade each and every day, I hear a line from Dante..crossing the portal..."All ye who enter here, abandon hope."
The only refuge to be found is in the truth.
The decision to end the nightmare can be made any day. It can be made today.
That would be the smart thing to do while there is still time. One day, it will be too late.

I doubt that those who are accessories..when they made that decision, thought about living with it for the rest of their lives, the next 20-25 years...and carrying that burden every day.

It's no help for screen shots already collected, but at this link you can 'take' a pdf instead of a screen shot. It's a bit easier to file under a title then, and move around.

I wonder if there's something that could make going through screen shots easier, that isn't too complicated? Lots of posters have this problem. I'll ask someone.

 for this tip. I am barely computer literate.

Someone, earning $.50 per license plate made, never imagines actually paying back an estate. :dunno: :twocents:

It won't have escaped anyone's attention that there is something big going on, with three long-term missing being found.

But I don't know if anyone noticed, there's a heartbreaking note to one case. One of the located, Amanda Berry, lost her mom while in captivity. Just a year before mom died, she consulted a psychic, SB, who said her daughter was dead. Family members say this broke mom's heart, and helped hasten her death. Mom's 'dead' daughter was, and is, very much alive.

The point about this for Bob's case - and all missing persons - is that confusion, disinformation, lack of co-operation and psychics who can pinpoint a location or determine a living/deceased person without a hint of medical training or a sniff of a K9er, are not needed.

What's needed is information. Complete openess. And the will to find the missing person. LE can work with that.

Just in case anybody should come up with a theory that Bob may have been held captive for all this time too;

That would be very, very rare given his age and gender. Unless it was in a family residence, by an abusive family member. As Bob's own home has been thoroughly searched, that would only leave other family members' houses to search, should anyone be concerned about this possibility.

I believe someone was throwing around this theory, back in the day. At this point, it would fall under the category of "UFOS, and Other Phenomenon". I wouldn't discount someone resurrecting this out of desperation.

I would hope ALL family members' homes would have been searched, by now, because of the circumstances. I would have offered to be searched, so that I'd be off the radar, and they could move on to real suspects.

I came back to post these thoughts before I forget to post them, again LOL

We have two people who are locked in when it comes to the last time they've seen Bob.

Paula testified it had been 4 days before Bob went missing. (Thurs. or Fri.)
Andrew testified it had been about a week.

I'm correct that they were both under oath when these statements were made? I re-read these statements sometime last week, and want to make sure that I've got these two statements, and the circumstances under which they were made correct.

Edited to add: Roberta and Julie last saw Bob the day before he disappeared (Sun)

That can't be right, can it? PB was at the heated family meeting, and that was the day before Bob disappeared.

Oops! Right, Paula was at the family meeting.

AH says in the LE report about the last time he saw Bob, but I can't find the link where son-in-law is mentioned as being at the family meeting. I've read it somewhere though, for sure.

Note: In that article I linked, two months after Bob disappeared, LE are still saying he left his glasses behind.

That article also mentions another example of JuM putting her sisters between herself and the police; it says she phoned Bob's house that night and established he wasn't there, but then she phoned her sisters and it was them that alerted LE, not her.

I wonder if the two older sisters were brought up to always look out for the baby of the family when they were young, and it's just carried on? It does happen in some families. A relative of mine with a big family had her last baby long after the others. Even when he was a strapping six footer in his twenties, they still all called him 'baby' and did everything for him.

Spoilt rotten, my mom said....

Yes, at a minimum Paula's sworn statement about the last time she saw Bob could be problematic for her. The natural question is why avoid mention of the family meeting? Right now her sworn statement is out there and I wonder if it also conflicts with her statement to LE?

She's got some trouble for sure.
